Pokemon Box Details GC

Famitsu unveils this GameCube utility disc for Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire.

Pokemon Box for GameCube will be released on May 30 in Japan. The game

alone will retail at 2000 yen (around $16 US). There will also be a GBA

E3 Videogame Music Concert Canned

The first US concert to feature videogame music has been pushed back a year to make it bigger and better.

Last August we reported that as part of the E3 festivities, a music concert featuring videogame tunes was announced. As giddy as everyone around the gaming community was to hear about this, it turns out that the concert has been pushed back into 2004.

Namco and Sega Merger?

In another sign of the unstable Japanese economy, the two Japanese giants might look to pool their talent, and more importantly, their money.

As everyone knows, Sega has been on the auction block for who knows how long. Even after it announced a partnership with Sammy, developer of the Guilty Gear series (which wasn't thought to be a good move by investors), Sega is still not getting enough income to stay comfortably afloat in the ridiculously competitive Japanese game market.

Nintendo's upcoming GameCube demo disc will let you play Viewtiful Joe, among others.

A piece of promotional art from Nintendo of America has leaked onto the Internet, providing the first information about the upcoming GameCube demo disc.

The four games shown on the cover of the disc's box (which may be tentative) are Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut, Splinter Cell, Viewtiful Joe, and Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg. There may also be more demos and/or videos not shown on the cover.

World Record Beaten for Zelda: LttP GBA

The SNES masterpiece has been completed in less than two hours.

According to Twin Galaxies, the world record officiating organization for gaming, someone has beaten The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past in under two hours. Michael Damiani blazed through the rather lengthy adventure in just 1:57.15 on April 9, 2003. The previous record was 2:07.10, and some Zelda experts thought it was impossible to break the two-hour mark.
