Take Two Asks Shareholders Not to Sell Shares to EA

Expresses to shareholders that the "offer price is inadequate and substantially undervalues the company."

The Wall Street Journal informed us earlier this month that Electronic Arts, making no progress with the Take-Two board, would be proposing the same offer made to the board, directly to the shareholders. This bid valued each share at $26, a 64% premium on the current value of the stock.

Master System Games to Appear on US Virtual Console

Sega of America announced today that they will release Virtual Console games from their first major video game system, the Sega Master System. The standard price for Master System games will be 400 Wii Points or $4. Wonder Boy and Fantasy Zone are the only two games mentioned and currently do not have any release dates.

Ace Combat Creator Working on Sky Crawlers for Wii Wii

This aerial dog fighting is based on the story and designs of the original Sky Crawler series of Japanese novels as well as the upcoming anime film.

Much like Ace Combat, Sky Crawlers will be a flight-shooter game in which players control fighter planes in aerial dogfights. However, whereas the Ace Combat series is known for using modern fighter planes and settings, Sky Crawlers features planes that come from an alternate reality of fantastic WWII era propeller design and dog fighting.

This week shows yet again how strong the casual market is in Japan. Nintendo’s own calligraphy and Chinese character training game stormed right to the top, just ahead of the new PlayStation 3 Yakuza title.

Wii Fit also continued to impress, heading slowly but surely towards the two million mark. Meanwhile, Wii Sports continues its phenomenal sales, which could make it seem like a system pack-in, despite it not being so in Japan.

EA Confirms 8 Wii Titles in Development

Peter Moore of EA Sports lets Wii owners know what's coming.

Peter Moore, president of Electronic Arts' EA Sports division, has revealed that EA currently has eight games in development for the Wii.

Speaking on his EA blog, Moore talked about the new properties his company is bringing to the Wii, such as the recently-announced Facebreaker boxing game. EA is looking to capitalize on the expanded audience Nintendo has created and "expand" the EA Sports brand to accommodate them.

Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime confirmed the company has big plans for the second half of 2008, but don't expect to hear about them until E3.

Nintendo and Activision have submitted Wii games to the Korean Game Ratings Board.

The Wii has been a hit in Japan, Europe, Australia, the Americas, and now it may soon be hitting the Korean market as well.

Nintendo has applied to the Korean Game Ratings Board for Wii Sports and Wii Play, two titles that have been the cornerstone of the Wii's sales success. Adding fuel to the fire is the news that third party publisher Activision has also received ratings for two titles of their own which were unspecified.
