Finally, Nintendo hears our pleas and brings out a big gun. But where are the other games?

Well, that's interesting. Nintendo up and disappeared for the last two weeks, only to return with what many people will tell you is the best game ever made. All is forgiven, Nintendo. Well, at least until next week.

Curiously, Sega had promised three Virtual Console releases today, but as of 8:30 Monday evening (Pacific time), they are nowhere to be found. Whenever they get around to upping them, we'll update this page with our recommendations. Hopefully, that'll happen by the end of tomorrow.

Nintendo composer/sound director Koji Kondo and Zelda director/producer Eiji Aonuma will also be presenting at what is quickly turning into the biggest Game Developers Conference ever.

Reflections of Zelda

Eiji Aonuma's work on The Legend of Zelda series dates as far back as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess has been the team's most ambitious game to date and for the first time since its release, Aonuma reflects on its evolution and how it prepared him to take on the challenge of his current mission: Phantom Hourglass.

10th Annual AIAS Award Nominees AnnouncedWii

Twilight Princess earns nominations in six categories; Wii Sports and Brain Age also show up a few times.

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences released the nominations for the 10th Annual AIAS Awards, to be awarded in Las Vegas at the DICE Summit early next month.

Among the list of nominees, Nintendo again has a strong presence this year, with 17 chances to win in 11 categories. Leading the charge is Zelda: Twilight Princess with six nominations, including console and overall game of the year honors. Wii Sports is up for the same two awards, as well as three others, making it Nintendo's second-best contender. Brain Age also has multiple considerations, with four.

Today the fine folks behind Game Developers Conference 2007 revealed the latest additions to its list of sessions—two of which should be of interest to Nintendo fans.

Keiichi Yano, the loveable co-founder of iNiS, will be discussing the transition from import cult classic Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! to one of last year's best games, Elite Beat Agents. There are three new releases this week, one each from three different systems. But it's pretty much the same as last week's update.

New GBA SP Designs Released in ChinaGBA

Mario and Donkey Kong grace the outer shell of these silver portables.

Two new iQue Game Boy Advance SP designs were set to launch today in China. Both designs sport white graphics on the lid of a silver GBA SP. One design features a smiling Mario, while the other design depicts a stoic Donkey Kong.

Previously released designs include the Mario 20th Anniversary Famicom design, a red and black Chinese dragon design, and the Chinese Zodiac Year of the Dog design, available in blue and silver. All of these designs are unique to the Chinese market.
