No word on when NA will receive the Mii Plaza games.

Nintendo has released system software version 6.0 worldwide, giving North American 3DS owners access to save data back up and new features for the 3DS camera app.

The save data back up feature allows users to back up save data for most titles that are installed on the SD card. The utility can be found in the System Settings, and allows users to back up one title at a time. 3DBrew has compiled a list of some of the software that are unable to be backed up:Pokemon Mystery DungeonCubic NinjaMonster Hunter 3GReel Fishing 3D ParadisePokemon Rumble BlastFreakyforms DeluxePokemon Dream RadarSenran Kagura Burst: Guren no Shoujotachi Sengoku Musou Chronicle 2nd

In addition to these, all ten of the Game Boy Advance Ambassador games are also unable to be backed up. Animal Crossing: New Leaf's save, while not on the list also cannot be backed up.

Mewtwo may return in Smash Bros., possibly with his new X and Y form.

Masahiro Sakurai is considering having Mewtwo return in the next Smash Bros. games.

During last week’s Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Developer Roundtable at E3 there was a Q & A session with Tsunekazu Ishihara, President and CEO of the Pokémon Company, and Junichi Masuda, Director at Game Freak. I was fortunate enough to ask the men the following question:

“Can you go into more detail on how Mewtwo changes forms, and would you like this new form to appear in the new Smash Bros.?”

Upon asking this question the audience burst into laughter. Both Tsunekazu Ishihara and Junichi Masuda also had a surprised look on their face and appeared to not know how to safely answer the question. Sakurai was also in the audience and looked as if he were thinking, “Oh man, not this again!” after the question was asked.

Nintendo enters the free-to-play market with Steel Diver.

Nintendo's first free-to-play game is going to be Steel Diver.

First talked about during Nintendo's E3 Analyst Briefing, Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Mario and Steel Diver, revealed to IGN that Nintendo's first venture into the realm of free-to-play gaming would be Steel Diver. Not a direct port, this Steel Diver game will feature a new four player battle mode, and in his words "It’s going to be very fun."

It is not yet known how Nintendo will profit from the game, whether it be micro-transactions, or membership, but the game will eventually be released in a packaged form, though no system has been announced. Even though no release date was given, Miyamoto says "It's something that we're hoping to be able to show relatively soon."

Teslagrad, a 2D Metroid style puzzle platformer, will arrive on the Wii U eShop later this year.

Originally announced for PC and Mac, Teslagrad is the debut project of Rain Games, an independent outfit based in Norway, that is built entirely on the Unity engine. The game places you in the shoes of a young boy as he explores the abandoned Tesla Tower and gains access to Teslamancer technology, which provides him with an array of electrical and magnetic powers. The player must solve puzzles in more than 100 unique areas, depicted in a hand-drawn art style.

European and Japanese Mii Plazas are bursting with new content!

Japanese and European 3DS owners can now enjoy a complete overhaul of the StreetPass Mii Plaza as part of the 6.0 system update, which includes four new games and two new puzzle panels, in addition to other features photo filters and save data backup.

The new games have been made available for purchase in the new Mii Plaza Shop. They are as follows:StreetPass Squad - A role-playing game similar to Find Mii (known as StreetPass Quest in Europe), but takes place in space. Developed by Good-Feel Inc.StreetPass Garden - A gardening sim in which the player grows flowers and decorates to become a master gardener. Developed by Grezzo.StreetPass Battle - A strategy game based in the feudal era where you build an army to battle other generals. Developed by Spike Chunsoft.StreetPass Mansion - A paranormal investigation title, in which the player must solve the mystery of a haunted house by interacting with characters and battling enemies. Developed by Prope.

Individually, each of the games cost £4.49/€4.99. Users may opt to purchase the combo pack of all four games for £13.39/€14.99, but the combo pack can only be purchased if the user has not already bought one of the games. By progressing in these games, players can win up to 99 new hats, as well as Plaza Tickets that can be spent on Mii accessories at the unlockable Exchange Booth.

Amazon and GameStop are now taking accepting pre-orders.

Pre-orders for Sonic Lost World for Wii U and 3DS are now open at Amazon and GameStop. Both titles are currently slated for a holiday 2013 release exclusively on Nintendo platforms.

In the Hero Bank world, the keyword is "money." Just like the real world, then.

Hero Bank, a "battle life RPG" from Sega that centers around building an enormous financial fortune, has been announced as a Nintendo 3DS exclusive.

The prime component of this game is the Hero Battle, a hugely popular cyber sport in which competitors enter one-on-one fights with virtual avatars based on world heroes. Monetary management will also play a significant role, with each victorious battle yielding a large cash reward, and according to Sega, the ultimate aim of the game is to become a billionaire.

Is the Wii U a next generation platform? Reggie Fils-Aime says it is.

Reggie Fils-Aime, Chief Operating Officer of Nintendo of America, had a recent interview with CNNMoney about the Wii U as a next-gen platform saying “Nintendo is next generation, Wii U is next generation.”

Since the launch of the Wii U there has been some debate over whether or not it should be considered "next gen"; Reggie disagrees because of the innovation he believes the GamePad is bringing to the marketplace. When it comes to low hardware sales he says that there is “one truism about this business, software sells hardware,” and he believes the many popular franchises being brought to the Wii U will make for a strong holiday season.

3DS owners can now take advantage of Nintendo's Image Share service in English by going to http://i.nintendo.net in their 3DS browser and following the instructions.

This service, which has been available in Japanese for a few months already, allows users to upload screenshots from Animal Crossing: New Leaf to Twitter or Tumblr. The service automatically tags Tweets sent from this service with #ACNL.

Screenshots can be taken from within Animal Crossing: New Leaf by pressing the L and R buttons together; they're then automatically saved to the SD card.
