Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed on Wii U races to the top as the highest selling version.

SEGA Sammy, the holding company of SEGA, yearly financial earnings revealed some interesting and exciting news when it comes to Nintendo platforms.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed sold best on the Wii U with 310,000 copies, while the Nintendo 3DS version managed 190,000 units. Sonic Racing was SEGA's biggest selling title at 1.36 million beating out Aliens Colonial Marines 1.31 million. Colonial Marines was orignally going to be released on Wii U but was canceled most likely due too a very poor critical and fan reception.

SEGA has seven titles planned for Wii U in their next fiscal year, matching the number of PS3 releases and beating out the number of Xbox 360 releases by one. The report did not, however, include games planned for the PS4 or the upcoming Xbox. The 3DS has six titles coming, which just edges past the PS Vita's five titles. The DS has no support in the next fiscal year while Sony's PSP has two games coming.

Well deserved for Transformed, though I enjoyed (and still do) the original Sonic & SEGA.

See, Electronic Arts, this is what happens when you actually put some effort into your titles.

Hyperstone Heist please :)

VahneMay 12, 2013

Is Phantasy Star Online 2 one of those titles? How about Project Mirai or Project Mirai 2?

ShyGuyMay 12, 2013

Shenmue 3. BELIEVE

yoshi1001May 12, 2013

I guess everyone really is Super Sonic Racing. If I had more free time and wasn't busy unlocking music in PMD 3DS, I'd have played much more of it.

I am not Super Sonic Racing.

I think...

Shenmue 3. BELIEVE

Sure, let's kill the entire industry like 1 and 2 did the Dreamcast and independent Sega.

Let's hope for Phantasy Star Online 2! I miss my GC because of PSO.

Pixelated PixiesMay 13, 2013

I would laugh pretty hard if they announced Conduit 3.

Sega being the one third party that likes the Wii feels like some sort of strange insult.  It's like a girl with low self-esteem getting a slight boost from finding out some guy has a crush on her and then finding out it's the weird nerdy guy who smells funny.

^ Your hearts a dead tomatoe splotched with moldy purple spots. Kinda true though.

I second this.  PSO was actually the game that ultimately got me into the Monster Hunter series how I am now.  So I would welcome Phantasy Star Online 2.  Though I am curious if Monster Hunter would help or hinder its sell on the Wii U and 3DS.  Can't believe its Vita and PC at the moment.

Yeah, but, to continue Ian's analogy, Ubisoft is that one guy who flirts with all the girls but doesn't intend to get into bed with any of them; especially not with the girl with self-esteem issues who has a limited install base...wait, I think I just broke the analogy.

I think the Analogy broke when their was a guy who flirted with girls but were not going to sleep with them if offered or have us men really switched gender roles that much now.

See, Electronic Arts, this is what happens when you actually put some effort into your titles.

To be fair, Madden and FIFA for Wii U were high quality products. I'm pretty sure I gave FIFA a 9.5 for the site, and I still play that game to this day. Not to mention Need For Speed: Most Wanted, which is better on Wii U than on any other platform. I don't like EA very much these day either, but you can't deny that they've put effort into the few Wii U projects they have released.

Do you mean besides the fact that they released Mass Effect 3 at the same time they released the Mass Effect Trilogy on every other platform?

You can bet that one of the games for the Wii U and 3DS is a new Mario and Sonic Winter Olympics game.

Well, they've already done the whole Summer and Winter games thing. I wonder if a 'Mario & Sonic at the Paralympic Games' would be something they would consider. Mario & Sonic wouldn't compete of course, but would play the roles of officials or referees (think Punch Out!!). That's probably unlikely to ever happen, but I actually think that would be a pretty neat way to introduce children to the idea of people being differently abled (which for some very young children can be confusing or even frightening).

ThePermMay 14, 2013

if Shenmue 3 actually came out on Wii U. Shit would be crazy.
