The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is set for a release this March on Wii U.
Unlike Telltale's episodic The Walking Dead, Survival Instinct is a first-person action game focused on surviving the Zombie apocalypse. The game takes place in the television series' timeline before the events of the first episode and not in the world of the comic book series as Telltale's game did. The game follows familiar faces Daryl and Merle Dixon on their walker-infested journey to Atlanta.
The Wii U version became a reality halfway into the development of the game. Producer Glen Gamble says the Wii U version has a "streamlined" inventory with an always-available backpack.
The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct will release in Europe on March 29, no date has been announced for North America.
