Chalk up another limited edition 3DS for the Land of the Rising Sun.

SD Gundam G Generations 3D from Namco Bandai in Japan will have a limited edition red Nintendo 3DS available starting December 22. The unit, dubbed the Char Senryō Nintendo 3DS (Char’s Personal Nintendo 3DS), features a red finish, series character Char Aznable’s golden Zeon insignia and black silhouettes of the The Red Comet along with a quote that says, “In war, to keep the upper hand, you have to think two or three moves ahead of the enemy.”

The premium box, which includes the limited edition 3DS, two limited edition cards and SD Gundam G Generations 3D for the 3DS retails for 21,090 yen ($270.85).

Does it have 3x the battery life of a regular 3DS?

EnnerDecember 15, 2011

Heh. Three times the battery life would be something.

Wow! That is one expensive bundle. Whoa! Although I paid 250 for my 3ds without a bundle... but then I'm getting the free games....

YmeegodDecember 15, 2011

Actually that bundle is alot cheaper than if you buy seperate.  3DS is 15000 yen which is like $193 and games are 6000+ yen alone so the bundle is a good deal for them.

Nope, it'll actually have 1/3 the battery life. When you go 3 times faster, you burn out faster too.

It don't mean a thing if it ain't Gundam Wing.

This. The prices are all relative if you're earning in yen. For me, it's not a big deal, but for people importing from America or elsewhere, this is one expensive mother!

Colonel Khushrenada, I feel ya. Unfortunately while Gundam Wing was popular here in Japan, the original and ones with Char are more popular. So that means no Wing Zero custom 3DS or an automated, computer controlled Mobile Doll edition either. :(

I don't get Gundam Wing. Bunch of stereotypical teenage cutouts with overly specialised Gundams fighting everybody and each other because their masters were too stupid to tell them they are fighting on the same side. If nothing else it it gave us the Heavy Arms Gundam, a Gundam made of Guns making it a literal Gun Dam. Only the enemies tactics are more insane, which involved throwing absurd number of mobile suits that explode with the slightest provocation just so the Heavy Arms can run out of ammo.

Then you have Lady Une who has a split personality triggered by putting on glasses turning her from bitch jerkass to a person no more threatening than a kitten. Her idea of an execution is throw someone out of an aircraft then shooting them in the head with a revolver.

Well, at least it's better than Gundam 00. Also, always trust the guy wearing the mask.

Ah, Gundam Wing. I still have DVD singles lying around.
Gundam 00 had some fun things around it, at least the first season where there were three governments.
