Yet another Nintendo character is making their 'return.'

Kirby's next Wii outing has a title: Kirby's Return to Dream Land. The game has been know under its working title, Kirby Wii.

The title, which launches this fall, will be a multiplayer platformer similar to New Super Mario Bros. Wii. It features the titular Kirby, King DeDeDe, Waddle Dee, and Meta Knight as playable characters.

Unlike 2010's Kirby's Epic Yarn, Kirby will have his trademark ability to suck in enemies and will be able to steal their powers.

A demo of Kirby Returns to Dreamland is playable at Comic-Con this week.

Note: an earlier version of this story called the game Kirby Returns to Dreamland as the original source specified. This has been corrected.

Hmm, this makes sense given how much time Kirby has spent out of Dreamland in Kirby's Epic Yarn.

I don't really like names that are nonsensical out of context like Super Mario 64, New Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong Country Returns or even Super Metroid.  But this name actually works as a title out of context.  You could imagine a movie or a book with this name.

I think Kirby's Return to Dream Land (the person who wrote the article misspelled the title) is a fine title. The actual game is only somewhat interesting to me so far, maybe that will change as we get more info on it.

I'm not usually fond of titles like this for the reasons Ian Sane stated, but this one is actually kind of cool since it has more than one meaning.

All we have to go on is the Siliconera story, and he heard it (rather than saw it in writing). For now, as far as we're concerned, it's Kirby Returns to Dreamland.

That's fine, but every other game in the series spells it Dream Land, so I know the person on Siliconera just spelled it wrong (just like some sites write Starfox instead of Star Fox). I can understand why you are taking the professional route and using their spelling anyways until Nintendo confirms the title directly.

I thought about it during editing, but yeah... I guess we'll hear from Nintendo on this shortly.

I'm cool with this... it definitely makes sense. I would not have liked "Kirby Returns" or something because that would make it seem like DKCR was just part of some reunion tour.

Though I hope it doesn't keep going into the next game, "Kirby's Return Trip Back to Yarntopia" (or whatever it was called)

btw, I really wish Prince Fluff was the 4th playable instead of a lame Waddle Dee. I loved Prince Fluff! I'm sure they could have found a creative way to get him in to Dreamland.

What do you have against a character who faced vast pressures in society and generic design to go from just a stock repeatable bad guy into a playable character in multiple versions of a series.  They should really make a spin-off game telling the story of his rise to Fame.

Oh come on, having Waddle Dee in there would be like if they put Goomba as a playable character in New Super Mario Brothers Wii.

...Which would have actually been cooler than the second Toad they put in...
