E3 2015 Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice Interview with Mat Kraemer

Lead Designer Mat Kraemer discusses Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice with us.

Sanzaru's Mat Kraemer was kind enough to speak with NWR about Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice. We learned that the team at Sanzaru is listening closely to fan critiscism of their previous Sonic 3DS title. They've eliminated the maze like design of the first game and have created a much more linear experience. Also, the controls for Sonic have been made to feel much more like classic Sonic.

Before designing the levels, they looked at the maps of old sonic titles like Sonic Rush and the Genesis titles. They've also added Mutant Mudds like Challenge levels.

We also briefly spoke with Sanzaru about Sly Cooper and the possibility they will make another game in the series.

Another great interview.  Thanks!

I kind of felt sorry for him.  He seemed to feel the need (or corporate requirement) to defend the last game, but the only way to sell this one is to acknowledge how many things needed fixed or scrapped.  I hope that it turns out well.
