I hope against hope that this will get localized for the West. Still hoping against hope on a DQVII translation, but that might be apples to oranges, as DQVII has a lot more text compared to a rhythm game.

Well this is an obvious idea.  Curtain Call is lots of fun but I'm a lot more familiar with Final Fantasy than I am with Dragon Quest.  Will I enjoy the concept as much with music I'm less familiar with?

Well, I found myself liking the music from Final Fantasy games I hadn't played in  Curtain Call. I haven't touched any of the mainline Dragon Quest games, but I know the music is top-tier stuff. Good music is good music, so I don't think you'd need to be familiar with music to enjoy it.

In some regards, I miss being on staff, as I usually am on top of news stories, so I could have them posted on NWR. :3

I might be interested in this, if they switch up the gameplay a bit to keep things fresh. Though, I feel Final Fantasy is more prolific in the music department, and Dragon Quest games have a smaller number of tunes, some of which I'm not so sure would work well in a rhythm game. Hopefully, they'll at least use the music from the remakes instead of pushing in a bunch of NES tunes.

Either way though, I wouldn't buy this right away, and wait and see if they're going to release a special version later on. That is, if they even release it outside Japan, as this'll be the sixth Dragon Quest game for the 3DS and none of the others made it stateside.

We will be discussing this on the next Famicast.

Throw us a question on Twitter or email if you want to ask Danny something about this, I think he played 400 hours combined of the first 2 games.

Do they go with just the numbered DQs or will it be a Curtain Call scenario where they have the Monsters games, Rocket Slime, etc available as well?

And now I'm going to call some, um, friends in North Korea to make sure this comes to the rest of the world.
