Voice Acting Language Selected for Mighty No. 9
« on: October 14, 2014, 03:19:02 PM »

English or Japanese? Only one could be featured in the game.

The official spoken language in Mighty No. 9 will be English, as decided by the game's Kickstarter backers.

Last week a survey was distributed in which a choice could be made between English and Japanese Voice Acting. Due to the large cost of voice work, only one language could make it to the final game.

Even though English was the final choice, the decision was close. With more than 20,000 votes cast, there was less than a 1,000 vote difference between the two options.

Mighty No. 9 is the latest game from Mega-Man co-creator Keiji Inafune. The title is set to release on both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS systems in spring 2015.

Well considering English is spoken in a few more countries than Japanese is....probably the right choice  :P:

Considering the high level of Japanese voice acting, which is even able to compete the likes of Disney and Hollywood on a fraction of the budget...probably not the best choice

They were waiting for him to either hit the age of majority or the legal drinking age. Not sure which.

I am indeed back, and of legal drinking age. My shackles were removed so I could talk about Goof Troop with Neal and I decided to stick around and do a bit more work.

That's an interesting point of view! As someone who lives in Japan, my opinion of Japanese "acting" is somewhat more tempered. Whereas the squeaky voices may suit the natives and superfans of anime elsewhere in the world, I'd say if you look at it objectively, it will probably suit a wider range of people by having English voice acting.

Also, Hollywood? I seriously doubt they are hiring an A-list celebrity to do the voice work. Although if they were, I'd nominate Christopher Walken as my choice!

Sean Connery and David Tennant as a Villian.
Peter Cullen simply because anything that involves robots should probably involve Peter Cullen.
