As a life long Mario fan, I can honestly say I have no interest in this game whatsoever. Not that it matters, because this game is going to sell a bazillion copies. I do, though, fully accept that the problem lies with me and not the series; I've simply become tired of the forumla.

Although, in my case the word 'tired' wouldn't exactly sum up my feelings towards the NSMB series. What was originally ambivalence, then became fatigue, and has now become exasperation. NSMB 2 was the straw that broke the camels back. Fun games they may be, but sometimes fun just isn't enough. There are too many interesting, innovative, and fun games out there (not to mention other forms of entertainment) for me to be playing a trite series like NSMB.

I am really glad that so many people take enjoyment from the NSMB series, but looking at these videos really makes me wish Nintendo would put some of their ample resources into creating more experiences for gamers like me who have played Mario, Zelda and Metroid since they were kids, but who are now hankering for something new.
