Pink and Black DS Lite
« on: September 16, 2006, 05:14:55 PM »
I haven't seen it mentioned but I might have missed it.  I knew that they were launching these I just didn't know when.  Welp it seems the time is now.
I saw both the Pink and the Black in good quantities at my Walmart today.

(Now if we could only get the matching Wiis as well. Plus Indigo.  In fact an Indigo DSLite be nice or better yet Metallic Purple.  Thats close to Indigo.)

Pink DS Lite... I don't know if I can justify it when my original DS is still working fine. Now if it was Hello Kitty themed.

I've gotten the Black ds lite 3 days ago, even though my older ds does work perfectly.
I too want a matching Wii, but I think I'm going to have to be less picky if I want to be playing Wii as soon as it is released.
I haven't seen the pink ds lite yet though, but then again it's not going to be something I will be searching for.

I won't pick up the Lite because it seems it doesn't address my biggest gripe about the original DS.  The Speakers.

FWIW, control of the speakers is better with my DSL, and the sounds doesn't seem to crackle as much when turned all the way up.

k.  No one has really said one way or another and have indicated they are the same.  Thanks.

What?! You don't use headphones? How can you stand using the DS speakers?

. . . OK, they aren't that bad, but I do think that they are about the lowest quality bit of the DS. They're fine enough but as soon as you use that little headphone jack you can hardly go back.

The store I work at started selling the Pink and Blacks on the 11th. I think we were a bit early, but that was the date on our release list and also the day we got them in with a sticker on the box saying "Dated Product. Rush to Sales Floor".

Maybe I'm deaf, but I always thought the DS speakers were just fine.

Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I use headphones when I can.  I have the official DS headphones, they came with the car charger.  I use those when I'm about but I really prefer my Wonderful Philips ones I got from Amazon.  They are full enclosure with a like 10ft+ cord.  Gold Plated.  Very nice and only like $30 bucks.  Honestly one of the best 30 I ever laid down.  Though the cord can kill someone.

Yeah, the DS speakers are fine. . . untill you hear your DS games coming through a decent set of headphones. It's a world of difference, I assure you.

-------------

I too can not justify the purchase of a DS lite when my DS fat still works of so perfectly well. Maybe when there's a price drop I'll convince myself, but for now I'm trying to be frugal.

I'm waiting for the MicroDSLite.  If that never comes out.  Oh well.
