What should they pack in with it?
« on: April 28, 2006, 03:24:49 PM »
So what do you think Nintendo will ship with the Wii or what they need to ship to be successful. I say they need to ship Wii, two WiiMotes, two shells, two nunchuks and maybe a demo similar to the one at TGS (in gameplay concepts). Do you think that shipping it with the shell is essential? Which leads to a further question, are they going to sell the shell and regular controller and nunchuck as one package in stores?

I think it should come with the remote, nunchuk attatchment, and maybe a demo of some sort that really shows off what the rev can do. The Metroid demo for the DS seemed to work well.

Free game downloads until say, Christmas eve. You'd be crazy not to buy one. Plus new downloadable demos every week, and free of course. Plus the remote+shell. I wouldn't hold my breath for two controllers.

I like this idea, but I think a better idea would be "X credits for Virtual Console Download."  That way, no matter when you buy you still get it.

One remote, with attachment (that's pretty much assumed standard), and the shell would be nice (but probably not required).

I liked the idea someone had of doing a family pack with four controllers, maybe throw in a great party game in that package as well.

Oh, and include a paper bag for those still psycho about the name.

The shell needs to be included with the system.  Otherwise it'll become another accessory like the SuperScope - supported by only a handful of games because only a handful of people will have it.

"Free game downloads until say, Christmas eve."

That'd be terrible, with people getting so many on Christmas.  New Years would be better, but the credit system is probably best.

Ohh those poor, downtrodden kids not getting things for free. They're lucky they have a home and electricity and food, much less a TV and videogames and parents that don't beat them senseless for such selfishness   jk

White Wii console
VGA + component input cords (for 480i and p)
Power cord with AC adapter
2 Wiimotes with nunchakus (the two 'ii's make this necessary)
X VC credits, X being 2 or 3 games worth
Demo disc (to demonstrate the variety of games from Madden to Mario to Brain training)

And if hints are true, a game. But the game would just be REALLY nice.

We only want a handful of games to use it.... If most games use the shell, it will show the remote was a bad idea.

This is what I think will go in it:

1 Wii
1 set of Composite cables
1 remote and 1 nunchuk
1 game to demonstrate the Revmote (maybe demos.)
1 old school game to promote the Virtual Console.

As for a shell I'm starting to wonder whether there will be a shell or not.  It doesn't sound like any new games have a need for the shell and that leaves only VC games.  Somehow I think Nintendo will make those games work with the new controller.

AT the same time I think they'll provide a couple other options.  First why not let you use the GC controller for VC games aka SNES and N64 games.  SEcond perhaps as an accessory they will put out authentic old school shells.

1 Wii
1 Game
2 Remotes with Analog attachment

$199.

I think the interface might provide a lot of entertainment. (and i'm not a fan of demos)

We'll see at E3 if we need to add anything else.

1 Wii (A given)
At least 1 Controller w/ Nunchuku  A)
1 Wireless Video connector B)
Paperwork
Registration Number C)
Stand (For completion sake)
Power Things
Free VC downloads (1 or 2)
Discount on a wireless router

Demos will probably be online to make sure they don't go stale and to lower costs.  I like a price point of $199.99.  So if you're not online then you'll have to get a game like the last few console launches.  With such a wide variety this time around I think that packing one in would hurt more then it helps.  Also I did footnotes because the list got to cluttered.

A) (Notice no shell.  I feel that shipping it with each controller defeats the purpose of the controller.  Now selling a pack with all three would be fine.)(Also there will probable put two)
B) (Probably RCA but I'm going to get the RGB ones as soon as possibe, they make my cube look great and they even help the PS2( Which I can't tell you how surprised I was though there is only so much you can do))
C)  (One day NOA will change the system to be like Japans)
Need a Personal NonCitizen-Magical-Elf-Boy-Child-Game-Abused-King-Kratos-Play-Thing Crimm Unmaker-of-Worlds-Hunter-Of-Boxes
so, I don't have to edit as Much.

Who needs demo discs when you have VC? Just have the demos of all/most of the launch games included on the flash and free for download. (Update with different games as time goes on.)

Other than then the items we all expect (console, video cables, power adapter, at least 1 nunchuck and 1 remote) I would be satisfy with the following:

2 nunchuck attachment with their corresponding remote ( since some games will probably utilize two remotes, it make sense to just have two right out of the box)
1 shell (I'm wavering on this requirement, but it would be great to have it)
3 free virtual console downloads (this is to get people to try out the virtual console)
1 demo disc to show the various uses of the controller and a video on how to setup the Wii and how to setup the Wi-Fi service. The demo disc should include a simple puzzle game that is online capable. This is so users will use the online service and get a feel for it.

I think that will make the Wii a great experience right out of the box. Its all about getting the consumers up to speed on it capabilities. Since Nintendo's target audience is the general public, this package would seem to be the best. Also, I think a worthy price for this package would be around $249.99 at launch.

2 Revmote, 2 nunchuck and 2 shell
Composite cables(please ship with them!)
5 free downloads
Mario and Cooking game(maybe have the cooking game be in the memory of the system itself)
Download demos for other launch games

$199.99

Here is what I would like packed into the Nintendo Wii

1) The Nintendo Wii and all standard cables required to play the system.
2) 2 Wiimotes, 2 Nunchucks
3) Discount Coupon for Shells (can be used for up to 4 Shells)
4) 5 free downloads is a great idea.  Or at least 3 games already on SD card.  1 NES, 1SNES, 1N64

Price $199.99  If the Price is higher say up to $250.00 then I want the Shells packed in.
