--- Quote from: Luigi Dude on June 15, 2016, 01:35:08 AM --- Plus this also gives Nintendo a very good reason to tell the people who're angry their no female Link, why they shouldn't. If this Link is indeed a previous Link, then he kind of has to be a man since the previous Link was a man as well. --- End quote --- While I don't care about Fem-Link either way, it would seem this makes the most sense. If Link is Hero of Time Link or even the one from Skyward Sword (probably not since they said Ganon and not Demise) then girl option would make no sense. |

I'll be honest, I really wasn't excited for this game going into E3. Zelda's maybe my least favorite Nintendo franchise, I never started Skyward Sword and I barely touched the couple before it. But Nintendo has absolutely hooked me in with this showing. I've felt compelled to go back and watch the trailer numerous times now, and I've gone from "Eh, I'll probably get it, since I buy basically everything" to "I need this now!" It's even got me excited about the series that I'm about ready to plunk down the money for Twilight Princess HD. |

Ok where to begin? Just know that for me I do get fairly excited for Zelda titles but they have always been much farther down on the ladder in my favorites list. It was probably TP that finally cooled me down on the franchise, I still haven't finished A Link Between Worlds. I loved the motion controls and puzzles in Skyward Sword, absolutely loved them but over all I just don't love the entire game like I do Tropical Freeze, Majoras Mask or Galaxy. Being so limited in flight really bothered me to. Zelda has just been feeling really dated to me. First impression with the latest trailer wasn't so great. Mainly because I looked at some animations and didn't think they were too hot. Once the tree house started going I realized that Zelda has finally caught up with the rest of the world! I know some folks are really against voice acting and even though there were only like 3 lines of dialogue so far, in the grand scheme voice acting will just give Zelda far more positive mind share in the minds of people who don't normally play Nintendo. It just will. The girl speaking telepathically(probably Zelda) sounded wonderful and I can't wait to hear more! Link just woke up in the middle of no where and the game said go! Come on now how awesome is that?! It's like Zelda 1 and 2 all over again! How long have so many of us been complaining about the long boring openings?! Don't you just want to shout YABADABADOO!!!? The landscape is so envititing and so vertical! Being able to climb almost anything is so wonderful! I really do hope by the end of the game we get a bird to ride on, sure warping will come in place but I think being able to traverse such a vast landscape with a new Loftwing would be ideal at some point. Being able to see something in the distance and actually being able to go and explore it really excites me! All that classic NES Zelda art is alive in this new game! Normally Animations in 3D Zelda games are just lame looking to me but after watching more I really like how far they come. Particularly how Link and his enemies get hit and fall to the ground. It's not perfect but it just looks so much better than some of the previous stuff we've had. The Mokoblin's seem to have the WW life again, I don't remember much about them in the last few games only that they seemed "less" than the moblins of WW who would fight amongst themselves, run from bombs, etc. I do like their looks as well. The pig faces and red booties stand out and I can clearly see who and what they are. Nothing bothers me more than looking at an enemy and not being able to make out its face. I didn't mind the red moblin troll things of SS but these new red piggys are just so much better looking. Link's abilties remind me of Mario 64, like as soon as you begin you can just do all these things and you just figure out where and how to do them! Oh it just makes me so excited! So glad stealing weapons is a thing now and look how Link stores some of it on his back! Such a nice touch! I assume things like the Master Sword, Hook Shoot and certain items found in actual dungeons won't deteriorate so having the open world items fall apart isn't a big deal with so many enemies around! Also did you notice the stealth portions really look meaningful this time around? Sneaking up on animals for food or enemies keeping your sound down just looks so fun! I don't even know what else to say. The game looks inviting and oh so fun with sooo much freedom! It's a world I really want to explore and haven't been this hyped for a Zelda game since TP and that game burned me real good. |

Don't forget it's also MASSIVE. The hostess said what was on display was 2% of the entire world. 2%! |

Just read a few pieces from a Time interview. This game is being made by younger team while the traditional Zelda team has stepped aside. First Splatoon and now this. Here Ian you will love this: --- Quote ---The group of new staff actually would ask us, like ‘Well I know that it’s been done, traditionally, in other Zelda titles, but why does it have to be that way?’ And among those questions there were some I just couldn’t answer, that I didn’t know the answer to myself. That was because I just took those things on as a tradition, and I didn’t really know why the tradition existed. When you think about it, maybe those things really didn’t need to be there in the modern world, those traditions. So I started destroying these traditions I’d inherited in the series one by one. --- End quote --- I'm hearing the game could be around the size of Xenoblade X. I'm certain the Loftwing will return. Either it or some other winged beast. Hopefully the glider doesn't get upgraded to full airplane mode, I want another flying animal. |
