The Animal Crossing Amiibo Trading Card Trading Post

Now that I'm hooked on the game again, I'm interested in jumping into the Amiibo card side of things. I'm wondering what the people here who have been into them for a while would suggest someone starting from scratch to go about things.

Hmmm... Are you trying to collect all the cards, only specific cards, or just get a bunch of cards to play with?
If you just want a good number of cards to play with and aren't too picky about specific characters, one idea might be buying a couple packs of welcome amiibo, then trading any extras of those with those of us here who have a whole bevy of extra older cards not doing us much good.

I'm not looking to collect all of them, I'd just like a nice selection of them to use with the game.I guess I'll try that way, get a few packs and work from there.

No word on an NA release.
I ordered the UK version from Game:

I also have a set of the Japanese versions coming from SUPER... I think. He said he got them and took my address, but never gave me a total or his PayPal address.
There are six amiibo cards and six art cards. The UK pack comes with all six amiibo cards and zero art cards. The Japanese packs come with, I believe, one random amiibo card and one random art card.

Thanks! I'm not worried about the art cards really, those aren't Amiibo so I think I can live without them. And thank goodness that it's the full collection in one guaranteed pack, none of this worrying about random cards and then the (fun, but worrisome) ques to trade up to a full collection afterwards!
