That might be true for the digital version, but not physical. I only buy Pokémon games on sale and I've gotten them for half price or less. You just have to be vigilant.

I'd be more likely to buy it digitally at full price than to buy it physically on sale. I haven't bought a physical game in over two years, and really don't want to start again.

It's true. I own nearly every Pokémon game but have only played a third of LeafGreen. I bought them all because I got them for $20.00 bucks or less and Pokémon games keep their resale value. It's why I haven't gotten a copy of FireRed and finally started playing through the series.
