Capitalism gave us the highest standard of living in the world. How many people starve to death in capitalist countries? All of those companies that everyone hates so much was founded by an individual like anyone on this forum who worked hard and played by the rules to be successful. The system we currently have that everyone hates is Crony Capitalism, which is slowly inching towards Facism. We are headed into a society where a handful of elites in both the corporate and politcal avenues consolidate power and screw over the little people.

Keep in mind that capitalism allowed a young black woman from Chicago to eventually grow up and own her own TV talk show and studio.

Most companies I worked for broke the law at some point. A lot of the time they got away with it because the people affected don't even know the law. And now I double-check everything, all the time.

You are running on a false premise Kytim89. The size of government is irrelevant if it is working effectively for the people. Of course you would want a small government if every day on the news you heard about a bunch of cops kicking down doors and shooting the residents.

As for capitalism, it is running exactly how is it meant to run. The end result was always might(Money) makes right. Capitalism was never a valid economic system, it is an idealogical one. Capitalism never took into account the costs of public goods like air and water nor does it ever consider the consequences outside of the bottom line. If killing workers meant that you pocket an extra dollar from each unit sold, this is ok under capitalism. It's a feature, not a bug.

You would think turning Israel into the worlds largest glass parking lot would produce a lot more casualties.

It may actually have been me that came up with the politics rule so many years ago, even though lately I've been pushing at the boundaries a little bit. Mostly I just fool around and post really wacky, grossly exaggurated things. (just in case someone actually thinks I advocate setting McDonald's on fire and killing all cops)

Thinking on it more, lifting the ban on political chat is still THE WORST IDEA EVER. First, because the political atmosphere in the US makes it really easy to immediately demonize people for their worldviews, and hell, it's practically encouraged. I don't know about people in other countries, but they don't really count anyway
