I just read an article (yay, I can read) that all the DLC content comes out to over $100. Ow.

What is really crazy to me...is I don't understand some of these DLC.  Ok, new characters, great makes perfect sense.  But, I am not going to download, extra skins of characters...or color swaps, no matter if they are free...I don't care about that stuff at all...it doesn't add anything to the gameplay.

And then having to buy extra gems, seems like a way to break the balance of your game...and I hate the idea of rewarding gamers with MORE money...when it comes to playing your game...it just seems like a dick move to me.

DLC serves as an interesting discussion piece. Where do you draw the line of what is or is not acceptable? I think there are fair points on both sides. On one hand, consumers want to feel like they're getting a complete game. On the other, companies have to offer additional content that people actually want in order to make money.

The PS Vita version of Street Fighter x Tekken is the best value since all the characters are included by default. It's probably the worst version of the game. Not "bad" per se, just the "worst" between 360, PS3, Vita, and PC if only because you're kind stuck with the Vita controller though that's subjective. I guess Capcom figured, the Vita version is going to have the hardest time selling so they packed it with the extras to entice people.

Spak-Spang:
You know I don't have a problem, with Capcom selling additional characters, and outfits and such...to each his own...if you want to buy the extra content it is being made available and not being saved for a sequel that will come a year later.  So whatever...I am just not personally going to buy it...except for maybe the characters.

Now, the Gems is a little different...I personally hate games, and toys of any sort that force rarity...meaning that I have to spend more money to play the game better...or get the better figures.  With these Gem Packs that is what COULD essentially happen.  Spend 2.99 get this bonus damage increase of 20%...sure they may balance it and say well it also increases the damage you receive by 20% so its fair...but if you are an aggressive player, that 20% increase could mean you winning in a game...and me losing, and you have that option and I don't...not because you earned it in game...but because you bought it.  That doesn't seem right to me...and I feel tournament players may agree...though they may have all the gems bought in tournament competitions...it is still the principal.  Even if Capcom says well we have a weaker version that does 10%...it isn't the same.

I thiiiiiink the gem packs are arranged to be free now, unless I'm mistaken?
