I don't think anyone really even screamed did they? No one did anything to signal help or give warning to anyone else throughout this entire movie. No wonder they all died.... well most of them anyway. Do any of the survivors play a part in the sequel? I figure that's gotta be equally bad if not worse, especially when it comes to acting(the guy with the hair was horrible). |

It does sound like a good (read: terrible) one judging from the reviews. --- Quote ---Delightfully horrible!, 29 December 2001 Author: Jeffery G. Rockey from Orange, CA I had never seen a Troma film before this. I had no idea what to expect. My best friend recommended it, so the two of us and another friend rented it one night and watched it. The results were as follows: My best friend and I laughed the entire time. My other friend became violent. Don't worry, he didn't hurt anyone. The bottom line is, this is NOT a horror movie! The creators may have attempted to make a horror movie, but what they made was a hilarious comedy! The actors in this movie are absolutely horrible! Click on any of their bios, very few of them have been in over three or four movies! THERE'S A REASON FOR THIS!!!!!!! But you know what? They're all trying really hard to do a good job, and I'm certain that they thought that they were making Hollywood gold. Now let's look at other aspects of production. I have a feeling that this is what Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom were looking for when they found "Springtime for Hitler" in "The Producers"! There is no aspect of this movie that is particularly good, which makes everything GREAT! Especially if you are a theatre student, like me. I refer to such cinematic techniques as introducing a character (A psychic medium in this instance) and NEVER closing up on her face! I refer to a man who is getting a crowd incensed, but they never respond with more than a dull "EERRRRR". I refer to a monologue by a Bible salesman (And won't most people in a religious community ALREADY own a Bible?) where in the middle of the monologue the shot changes to a Speed Limit sign for no apparent reason. Then there's the end of the film. I won't give it away, but you have GOT to stomach this movie to see the ending! It's worth it! Trust me!!!!!! --- End quote --- Is it sad that I was routing for the knife-hand puppet to kill everyone? I was also hoping Mr. 'Bad Actor-Bad Hair' dude got laid before the movie ended. Since I assumed he died I thought he deserved to experience a woman once before going. |

I had already though that Mr. Hair was was gonna make it through the movie since the beginning. I'm pretty sure I said that somewhere, but I though he was gonna be the Puppet Master. Maybe in the sequel. Are the sequels any better or do they much worse? edit: Looks like Puppet Master 2 & 3 both came out the same year (1991) and reading the descriptions, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they are all horrible... --- Quote from: Puppet Master 2: His Unholy Creations ---A gang of ghoulish, supernatural puppets uses an Egyptian brain serum to resurrect their long-dead creator, Andre Toulon (Steve Welles), who promptly orders his marionette minions to drain the brains of a team of scientists. Meanwhile, Toulon falls for Carolyn (Elizabeth Maclellan), whom he believes to be the reincarnation of his lost love. Pinhead, Leech Woman, Blade and Tunneler are all back for more in this gory sequel to the 1989 cult hit. --- End quote --- --- Quote from: Puppet Master 3: Toulon's Revenge ---French puppeteer Andre Toulon (Guy Rolfe) attracts the Nazis' attention with his anti-Hitler productions, which feature a cast of magical string-free marionettes. The Gestapo promptly kill his wife (Sarah Douglas) and pursue Toulon's animation formula to create a zombie army. Enlisting the help of his faithful creations, Toulon pulls the strings on a very gory revenge plan in this clever prequel to the first two films in the horror franchise. --- End quote --- |
