Mafia XLIII: Mario Party ~Win Prizes~

Stratos:

I am supposed to post those things now? I thought I did that later in a different thread. Remember this is new to me so I'm just copying what I see from previous games. I thought I didn't post that stuff until I got mod powers and could start the thread in the mafia board.

Or do I have mod powers and I just don't know it yet?

BeautifulShy:

Typically the host posts all the roles and rules in the signup thread so that if there is any questions about the game it can be taken care of before the game starts.

Once you have Mod powers you start the first day and have a players list as well with alive players and dead players and alive and dead roles.

What you add to the players list is up to you. You could add the rules and roles if you would like or you could just post everything in the signup thread. It is up to you. Also if the questions are taken care of before the games starts the likely hood of having to answer questions during the game lessens. Since you will be at work for most of the day then people won't be panicing about questions they sent to you. Unless you check on the day threads at work which can solve that problem.

You don't have Mod powers yet. You will likely given the powers a day or so before the game starts.

Khushrenada:

Yeah, that might be my fault. In my early hosting days, I did post the roles and rules as soon as sign-ups started. That was kind of the norm. But lately, I've had to fill-in host a bunch and don't really worry about the rules and roles until sign-ups are closed and I have to suddenly figure them up. I'll admit, I've been coasting a lot but somehow, I've come up with a lot of cool stuff and the game usually works. But I'd only recommend that if you are pretty comfortable hosting since after awhile, you figure what will work and what doesn't and how to keep things balanced.

For first time hosts, you may want to post a lot of information before hand since there may be a few questions about the rules and roles. When you procrastinate and post that info all at once, you can get a pile of pm's from players asking the same questions or needing explainations. If you aren't prepared for that, it can be a shock to end up with so many requests at once. Posting ahead will help relieve a bit of that first day wave.

It might help with participation also. I think that if I had figured out how to work the Psyche-locks into my game sooner last time so that everyone was aware about them ahead of time, there would have been more interest and participation.

Stratos:

Yeah, looking back I see what you all mean. I was just looking at Khush's most recent game sign up threads and saw it blank so I just thought that stuff was placed elsewhere but then I look at Maxi and Drews along with Khush's older games and realize I forgot a big part it.

I plan on adding it shortly, hopefully tomorrow afternoon before I head off to work or after work if I get off early enough. At the latest I'll have it up Tuesday since that is my full day off so it can be my crunch day if it comes to it.

I've got a good picture you could resize and use as an author icon. This is from the same artist who drew my current author icon:

Maxi, 8 actually might not work so well. I was hoping for at least 12...

I might, though I like the Birdo rendition of the fan art better than the Yoshi.  If nothing else pops into my head as a good Yoshi-style pose, I'll swipe that when the game begins.
