I see your point, and I agree.  No one likes cluttered forums full of forever-long signatures, images everywhere, where the posters have accumulated about 50 random badges a piece, among things.  That's something GFAQs does well, they keep the interface, the visuals, among things, very simple.  No pictures, no clutter, no filler.

That said, I definitely prefer NWR's method:  Allowing an avatar let's users input just the right amount of personality to breed familiarity and recognition.  Requiring that pictures be of a certain size limit, and typically asking that they remain relevant, well, there isn't a much better way to do things, I think, at least, on a forum.  You get words words words, and they keep relatively relevant.  That's what I think works best.

It's on the site roadmap.  First we have to buy an island, but it's hard to find one with a gigantic skull carved into the side of a mountain.

So that's why Lindy went to the islands for vacation. Very crafty Lindy Luthor!!

Is it harder to find an island with a giant skull carved into the side of a mountain than it is to carve a giant skull into the side of an island's mountain?

Oh, I didn't say GameFAQs has a better setup than here, just that its simplicity is one thing I like about it. I like author icons because I just have to insert that random picture of Birdo, though I sometimes wish the size limit were 150x150...

Maybe that's why we've had a boost in hiring here, Lindy needs the extra hands to carve out the giant skull for his secret evil bond villain lair.
