decoyman:
Yum, ShyGuy. :(

(The sad face is because I can't have any of that sandwich.)
ShyGuy:
I feel the need. The need for sandwiches.

My Barbecue Sirloin Sandwich

My third sandwich and the first one that I made with the help of my charcoal grill. Again, the ingredients worked out to about $25 and it weighed about 4.5 pounds.

The ingredients:
- 1 loaf of italian bread, buttered and broiled.
- 10 ounces of Stubbs Spicy Barbecue sauce
- 2 twelve ounce sirloin steaks, marinated in Stubbs Spicy BBQ, grilled to medium rare over charcoal, and then sliced  diagonally.
- 1 yellow onion’s worth of home made onion rings
- 4 slices of Kansas City bacon
- 6 slices of provolone cheese

I decided to make a blog dedicated to my sandwiches. I still plan on posting every sandwich I make in this thread, but they can also be found at http://www.extreme-sandwiches.com/ plus extra stuff.
Mop it up:
That is really something, I've always liked onion rings on a sandwich. If I made that I'd add a few veggies to that to give it some crisp and soak up some of that sauce and grease.
ShyGuy:
what vegetables do you suggest?
Mop it up:
Just the usual. Definitely some iceberg lettuce, or romaine if you fancy something more luxurious. Put it on top of the cheese so that it will be in the middle of the sandwich and absorb its juices when you squeeze it. Cut up a tomato into thin slices and place them underneath the cheese; this will help keep them from sliding out of the sandwich when you bite into it. This sandwich looks like it has a lot of flavour so some pickle slices would probably be another good thing to add since they have a strong flavour too. I'd put them directly on top of the meat, I feel that's always the best place to put pickles on a sandwich.

I couldn't know for sure without actually trying it, but by the looks of it those three things could compliment this sandwich nicely. However, if you're going to be eating this over the course of a week or so, lettuce might not be a good idea. It would probably get really soggy from the grease and may even turn brown.
