I did some reading up on the technology and found this pdf at InvenSense that claims that these MEMS gyroscopes were about $60 apiece just a few years ago and predicts that mass market applications would depend on getting that cost below $10. It also claims that accelerometers like the Wii remote's didn't really take off until they hit $3. |
