The original is the best game I've played on my Playstation 2 and like two days bought a cube copy off ebay.

AND NOW THERE WILL BE ANOTHER ONE!

It's the best Zelda game that isn't a Zelda game.

Yup the first one is one of my favorites from last gen. I'm really excited to see this get off the ground. Ubisoft stop the **** and pick this thing up.

I think Bill's point is still valid. Okami IS Zelda. If Nintendo would've released it and slapped the name of Zelda on it, I wouldn't have even batted an eye. I'm not comparing the merits of Okami to those of BG&E as they are both very different and because I love them both equally.

I played BG&E until the stealth gameplay just got too hard for my low tolerance (not very far in but with the number of complaints about the length I'm not sure how much more there was, I stopped playing in the slaughterhause IIRC). I won't be buying the sequel.

Yeah it only had 4 'dungeons' so to speak. If slaughterhouse was the one where you have to navigate your boat right into the heart of it before starting the dungeon proper than yeah, you were close to the end. Holy **** the ending is so awesome though, just when you think it's totally awesome it just throws ever more awesome at you.

I enjoyed the original very much at $20, but I would have felt ripped off at $50. I'll definitely get the sequel just to see what happens after the cliff-hanger ending of the first one.

The trailer looks like its call CG so what system its on is completely up in the air it seems. Seriously, if Ancel is going to just crop out Rabbid games every year to fund this game and it doesn't end up on the Wii I hope it freaken Bombs again. Seriously, It pisses me off when developers put out the small projects on Wii to fund the big project they're going to put the most effort into then I with the worst for them. Its exactly what Rockstar has been doing and I'll be super pissed off it Such a brilliant guy like Mr. Ancel is following the trend.

Ubisoft is making a huge mistake if they don't release it on the Wii considering the Gamecube version of the original sold better then the Xbox version and was very close to the sales of the PS2 version last time I saw sales which were back in 2004. The Wii this gen, not only has the Gamecubes userbase, but is gaining the PS2's userbase with each passing month as well. This means the Wii contains BOTH userbases that made up the majority of the original Beyond Good and Evil's sales.

Unless Ubisoft is going to make this game a Shooter so it appeals to the 360/PS3's userbase, this game will bomb on those systems. Of course considering how Ubisoft had no problem destroying the Prince of Persia series to try and make it appeal to a different audience last gen, I wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft takes a sh!t all over this series as well in order to get better sales.

The more I think about it the more I just get enraged. Why are they going HD? Graphics won't solve ANY of the problems the first game experienced. The Wii userbase, with its open-minded and non-violence-friendly receptivity, on the other hand, will.

What the PS360 offers is HD textures and lighting. What this means is instead of BG&E 2 looking like a cool Don Bluth film like the first game, it will be a creepy uncanny valley like that realistic Mario picture.

Combat and racing would have been awesome fun on Wii. But, these are the moments when I'm glad I've got a 360. I just hope it doesn't stray too far from the first game in terms of gameplay and the general world environment.

It doesn't even look like an "Art Style" at all. It looks like they're going for realism. Well, as realistic as a human-pig can look.

Could be. The first game got released in the shadow of Prince of Persia, and I'm sure the cartoony atmosphere turned alot of insecure gamers off. Ancel may have been trying very hard to get Ubisoft to greenlight it by making it more appealing to a mass market. He wants to get his baby made, and at any cost.

And it seems to have worked!

Ubisoft reuse engines a lot, Prince of Persia for example ran off the Jade engine, which was named the Jade engine because it was developed for Beyond Good and Evil. This teaser, if it's real time which is possible, is probably running off the Scimitar engine, first used in Assassin's Creed. This is why it probably looks a little blah and bland.

Of course it could also have something to do with the fact that Hillys has completely dried up and is no longer the lush planet it was. Game about saving the environment? Awesome.

Then it wouldn't be so much about SAVING the environment as learning how to live with the consequences (which, honestly, is what we should start doing right now).

Anyways, theres no reason why it couldn't be Hyllis, sans environmental disaster. We're a water planet, but the middle of Arizona is a helluva lot different than Venice, for example.
