Oh hey, I like the change! Makes me do some maths and it's informative.

BlackNMild2k1:

-I don't care for it one way or the other, but some people seem to run their whole forum presence based on their score and set out to make sure everyone elses score reflects what they think it should.

There is no accountability as to what you are smiting/applauding and why.

Some people have high scores and I can only guess (for some of them) it's because they are well liked by a devoted few who make sure to applaud them everytime they log in. Others have a certain score for inside joke purposes (Mop-It-Up @ 64 points & Megabyte with ELEET/31337 status). And some are endlessly smited regardless of whether they deserve it or not (Some do deserve it, but to be smited 20 times from one person over a single post is just ridiculous, now imagine it happening from 4-5 separate people at the same time).

I was going to suggest adding join dates next to the avatars, but then I remembered the forums got switched so many times until this alliteration, such a date would be worthless.

UncleBob:

Yeah, I don't care much either way.

I do like the vBulletin's Reputation system, where the "smite" and "applaud" is tied to a specific post (the User still has an overall score, but they can see which posts they were positively rep'd for and which posts they got Negative rep's for).  The comments are anonymous, but admins/mods can see who left them so if there's any issues that arise.  It's a good system.

I like this. If we're going to keep the system, it should work like this.
