-----Moderator Edit-----

Welcome to the forums guys.  Here's a quick version of our rules, but refer to the official rules if you have any questions.

1. Don't be a jerk. Discussions and arguments about topics are allowed, but personal insults are not.
2. Avatars should be 100x100 and less that 20k.
3. Images are not allowed in signatures.
4. We do have a chat forum. It's called Smash Brosef Discussion right now, but it changes names and is generally referred to as the funhouse.
5. Don't post images unless they are on your own hosting server (or a site like photobucket).
6. Don't post images larger than around 600 pixels unless you are in the funhouse.
7. Put some thought into new threads. We don't like "What's your favorite game" type threads.

And the secret rule... Participate in the in the next Mafia game that happens in the funhouse. That is the best way to get to know a lot of the regulars.

By any chance, were there any defenders of poor mistreated and under-appreciated games like Alien Syndrome or Sonic: Secret of the Rings from those forums?

As long as were introducing the forum "characters" let's go down the list:

Bill Aurion is a degenerate yet lovable Loli, Smoke39 is just a degenerate yet lovable, Infernal Monkey is a Rockstar, UncleBob is Stan's dad in that WalMart episode of South Park except for Nintendo crap, and Pro666 is LOUD SOMETIMES. Bloodworth was the greatest mod ever, Viewtiful Gamer is the podcast maser, and 18days is really Rabicle.  Stevey posts dirty cartoons, Degeullo will HIT you really HARD with the ban stick and Khushendra is plotting to take over the world.

Golden Phoenix is the token female, Bustin98 is too nice and well balanced, Pale is of course, famous for his Bucket Hat, PittBoi is inflammatory, and Mashiro posts way way too much. GameBasher posts are too long to read, DaaMan64 also lives in Spokane, therat enjoys his liquor, and segagamer12/CyberRat NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT BACK. JonnyBoy17 is both experienced and opinonated, StrikerObi is too good to talk to us lower beings, IceCold never changes his avatar (PizzaCats FTW), and Shift_Key isn't afraid to throw down. ShyGuy still didn't mention Ian. Do we have to do everything around here? And what about TYP, the trivia king?

Alright. Ian...... is the guy everyone argues with but secretly, deep down, everyone knows he's right but people just can't bear to confront that part of their psyche so they combat it by fighting Ian.

Actually, maybe Shyguy should handle this one.

Edit: The Cat Tank . . . is a Cat Tank . . . =) With looping background music. It was only allowed to appear in one thread since I have been here. It's quite rare sight!

I love a challenge. So I did it. But its gimped cause gifs don't support music. And whoever originally made it left the FPS at the default 12 so it doesn't synch in time. But now we have an image to use rather than linking to a Flash file.

Alright, fine, I will continue .

Ian is our troll and we will kill you if you take him away, TYP is in fact the music trivia MC, but Megabyte is really really good at guessing the songs. Spike aka MysticSpyke aka Spikage keeps forgetting his account passwords, Chase is the new pompous staff member, Windy steers the good ship NWR and our most famous alamunus is Billy F'n Berghammer currently of Game Informer.  Okay, this is getting too hard for me to do from memory.

Great. I still remember when IGN went and prostituted itself for money. That was funny for about a total of 5 seconds. Then it was upon us. Waves and waves of forum zombies. We kept firing until guns glowed red and ammo low. In desperation our commander called a broken arrow. The forum ground to a halt.

We took damage and scars that will never fade. We lost members to the vastness of the net, but we are stronger for it. Once more unto the breach dear friends!

Hey all.  Welcome to the forums.

Here is a quick version of the rules.

Pale forgot rule #8:  Search through past threads before creating a new one.  Chances are there's already a discussion going on whatever you want to talk about.  We don't want more than one topic about the same game/issue/subject.

Hey, this is Ioniclunch. It's pretty cool we both thought of the word 'Refugees'. I'm seriously furious about the Nsider closure, and I really want it back.

If you've ever skimmed the 'Power On' board, you might of seen my comics, the Next-Gen Adventures of Buck and Borris. Thankfully, I have a photobucket account and the comics weren't lost forever (my fan-fictions were, but they're abominations to humanity).

Oh, my name on Nsider was also 'Ioniclunch'.

Funny how that name's always free.

P.S. I'd love to find any other Ex-Nsiders on this forum. Hopefully there'll be more.

P.P.S Nsider isn't as crude and wild as everyone makes it out to be.

Mmm, yes, I am HAIBANE from the MKDS Board and Power On. Kind of odd not having Nsider. I feel bad for the users without fallback plans.

Anyway, I think they will bring back Nsider, maybe not for months or years, but they'll bring it back. I just hope to God we get to keep our old ranks.

I'm very disappointed on the suddenness of this. Weird seeing the forum frozen at one moment. Like everyone packed up and left overnight. There were many contests I was involved in that never finished....so many users I had to contact....

My name is different there, though - MarioKartGal, to be exact.   I thought it was stupid to shut something down without giving any notice.

I visited there at least several times a week since joining them through the Mario Kart: Double Dash site in Nov. 2003.  Yes, the past few years the boards was going downhill especially the 'Power On' board with the stupidity there running rampant.  Someone would start a thread with no substance, then a few others would jump on the bandwagon and make similar threads just for a laugh.

Yes, I am an NSider "refugee", however, I am just surfing the net, to see which forums will suit me best.  And this forum is the first one I'll see if I'm active in.  Only really good forums kinda attract me into being active.

Anyway nice to meet'all and if anyone here was an NSider, my username was IZCZNIM64.

Sadly, their forums are never going to come back.  They said they are trying to drive the success of DS and Wii and support it.  But what I REALLY think is that there were a lot of hardcore fans that only was on the forums.  And many of the posts were not "user-friendly" or "family-oriented" or "safe".  Nintendo seems to believe everything has to be locked and preserved.  They limit their users and players with friend codes and now ability to express our opinions and reflections of their products.  It's ridiculous.

What Nintendo don't get is, they are putting too many rules rather than being relaxed and carefree.  There is a huge barrier that Nintendo has put up, it needs to be broken down.

Closing that forums was a big mistake, and a big disappointment.  Sure, there were really bad and idiotic forumers, but there were many good ones also.  Now we're unable to relate and communicate with fellow Nintendo fans through official Nintendo.com.  Like friend codes, they again limit us from playing and interacting with the world.

Way to go, Nintendo.

On the other hand (sorry I get carried away when I type out my feelings), I think I might enjoy it here!

I am from Nsider. I don't know which site I will join right now, but this one looks promising. But I'm still looking around for some of my old Nsider friends so im glad there is an official thread about this. Have a nice day!

Especially considering a couple years back, not long after the move from the old boards to this one there were long stretches of time when the boards were so slow it really made posting or reading everything but impossible.  Don't want or need that again.

I used to post on Nsider before coming here but I came here LOooooooooooooooooooooooooong before they closed.

Sometime around the period they banned me.
At first I left and went to Gamefaqs, until they banned me.

Then I went to Sega, for a bit, they didn't ban me but quietly asked me to leave.

I then came here and have been banned and unbanned twice. Kudos to Shyguy for helping me get back in.

After my last ban here I hung around a place called the Sega Universal Historical Society, they didn't ban me but we had a falling out so I left.

At Gamefaqs AND Sega.com I was known as Segagamer12, I used that handle here for a couple of months then they let me back in under my old account. I was animecyberrat on Nsider just like I am here.

This username made it's first appearance when I signed up for StarWars forums, my second venture into the world of online discussion.

Prior to that I was exclusive to alt.toys.transformers and alt.toys.transformers.classic.moderated I made a ton of friends there and really got overly obsessed with Transformers until I moved to KS where I sold all my TF toys and got back into video games more deeply than ever before.

I also posted on the transformers news groups as thetransformerscollector before changing my name back to animecyberrat.

And  shyguy where is that character bio thread?

I only frequent Bottalk.com myself.  Mostly stick to the off-topic nowadays.  I was never a huge toy collector and was always more into the TV shows and the characters than the toys themselves.

Bill, what concerns me is that they all apparently migrated from the Nsider forums, but somehow didn't find this place worthy enough to stick around.  What are you not offering that Nsider did?!?!

You can't blame me either cuz I wasn't around during the closing of the Nsider forums.

When I was allover the transformers groups it was all Usenet the only websites I visited were seibertron.com and unicron.com. (unicron is and always will be my favorite) I forgot who hosts the "official" forums but the link is on unicron. I quit posting because everyone has this "You have to like Beast Wars and if you don't your just a troll" attitude and every time I would say what I didn't like about BW it didn't matter. I got so used to being called a troll after awhile I said *$&% it I'm a troll then.

I kinda brought that attitude with me when I first came here.

Yeah, I imported a few of the Car Robots line before it was imported and rebranded as "Robots In Disguise".  GREAT toys.  Lots of articulation and poseability, and some were very challenging to boot.  Prime as a firetruck=Win.
