The Flyers were down in the series 3-1 and facing elimination. Then they won game 5 in overtime. Now tonight they won game 6 in double overtime to force game 7 on Saturday night after both Western Conference semifinal series have their own game 7s tomorrow. A fun stretch of games for neutrals.

He also played Jackie Robinson in his biopic 42, and today happened to be the day they observed Jackie Robinson Day in Major League Baseball. It's usually in April, but since the season was suspended at the time they moved it.

Evander Kane, one of the most high profile black players in the NHL, was hitting the league pretty hard yesterday for their lack of response to this issue. Glad to see they've come around.

What we're seeing with Microsoft right now and I imagine is what we'll see from Nintendo going forward is the blurring of the line between a revision and a successor console. The Xbox Series X is fully backward compatible with the Xbox One library, and regardless of what Nintendo ends up calling this new model, I expect the same level of compatibility. Switch Pro vs. Switch 2 is a largely semantic difference.

It's not all of MLB, some games are still going on. MLS also canceled all but one of the games that were scheduled for tonight, with the one that is happening having started before the players union finalized their decision.

That was an incredibly ugly series, but the Flyers survive. Montreal is just a bad matchup for this team, they struggled against them in the regular season too, but they got it done. The Flyers have gone from a trendy pick to win it all to people completely writing them off after that performance, but I think they'll look a lot better going forward, even if the Islanders aren't the best matchup either. The Habs' speed is what really gave them fits, though, and that and the opposing goaltending should be less of an issue.

Should I restart from scratch or try to slog through resuming my old save and hoping it jump-starts my memory at all? I know there have been a number of updates since I last played over a year ago. Would that mare a complete restart more enjoyable?

I would say you restart from scratch. The game goes so fast and you will probably just want to change things that you can't change in the old save.

I second this. I restarted from scratch at one point and ended up progressing much faster because of what I learned in my first file.

That was a little more nerve-wracking than I was hoping for, but a win's a win. Carter Hart, who turns 22 tomorrow, out-dueled Carey Price, his idol growing up, in game 1. Flyers got annihilated territorially in the 2nd period but managed to answer right back 16 seconds after Montreal leveled it, and that turned out to be the difference.

So I'm liking this a lot, having a specific goal like this is really helping me here. Pokepal picked an excellent idea to plagiarize, and I'd go as far as to say that this is the second best thing Nintendo World Report has ever stolen from Negative World. I'd also like to officially add Mass Effect to my in progress list.

I've decided to join in with this. At least to start I think I'll go with three games, and maybe add some more if I make good progress with those.

My first three games:

Mario & Rabbids: Kingdom Battle - I really love this game but I keep drifting away from it for whatever reason.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening HD - I never seem to finish Zelda games, but I'm going to put my foot down and do it with this one.

Metroid: Samus Returns - I never finished this because I had no desire to play my 3DS much instead of my shiny new Switch, but it's great.

I think the old ones are gone. Initially you couldn't even add new ones because it gave an error message about the directory being unavailable, but that has been fixed for a while.

The Stanley Cup Qualifiers are underway, and even though we're just one game in, and not even that for some teams, there have been some surprising results so far. My Flyers beating Boston today wasn't exactly shocking given how they played them during the regular season, but just how thoroughly they did it was surprising. Carter Hart was nearly flawless in goal in his first career playoff game, with Boston's lone goal not being his fault, and the Flyers depth really showed, with the 4th line scoring two goals. They're picking up right where they left off as the hottest team in the NHL when things shut down.

It's very faithful to the original. The same map layout and town, the same characters, everything. It's that game with a new art style and some quality of life improvements.

Everyone is broken, the server change seems to have screwed up all avatars. If you go in and try to add a new one it tells you it can't access the directory. It should be fixed soon.

NWR Feedback / Forum Issues Due to Server Migration

I know there have been some problems with the forums since the server switch this afternoon, and I've been working with our webmaster to address them. The big one still outstanding is the missing avatars, which should be fixed by tomorrow. If you run into any other oddities let me know so I can try to get them ironed out.

I also talked to the webmaster about updating the forum software, and I don't want to promise anything 100% just yet, but it sounds like that will be happening.

If you're a fan of the SNES and N64 games you'd probably like this one. The original Friends of Mineral Town was essentially the same game as the PS1 Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, and it uses a lot of the same characters and mechanics as those games.
