MK Wii's online system was good, but the lobby system in MoH:H2 let you easily find a game with the number of people, the map, and the type of game you wanted, and it let you play with friends without entering friend codes or even inviting people. And the gameplay probably wasn't that great, I don't know the genre well (I've only owned 4 FPSs in the last 8 years) and I still found faults with the gameplay, but I liked the controls and the online play well enough to overlook them. I want those good parts in a better game.

I bought this game last night, I haven't played it yet. Based on everyone's impression (and especially Gamespot's bad review) I know I'm going to enjoy this. I even have a way to not be too disappointed when it's over, because that means I can delete the game and have the blocks I need for Crystal Chronicles.

EDIT: I just played it for about 45 minutes, and I love it, it's a really fascinating game. I stopped because I can't figure out what to do, I'm going west like the guy said to and there's something behind a wall. I get up on top of it and there's a thing that gives me the option to pull, but pulling doesn't do anything.

I've been eating better and exercising, I figure this will complement those. I've lost 10 pounds already and I want to keep going in that direction.

No matter how you implement it it will not be as good as you can get in Medal of Honor Heroes 2. I want this game to be Medal of Honor Heroes 2's controls (and online system) with better gameplay and a campaign that doesn't suck.

It couldn't be in order to keep down file size, that's only an annoyance for a small, statistically insignificant percentage of Wii owners.

It should be a game where you have people guess if the obscure gaming accessory you name is is something that you own six of already or something you're in a fierce eBay bidding war for right now.

I had a reason for voting for M, but I forget what it was.

Having to plug it in defeats the purpose of portability.

If you're going to say a movie based on a book is no good if it's not as good as the book you're not going to come up with very many good book-based movies. Off the top of my head I can only think of 1 book-based movie that's as good as the book. I can think of a lot more book-based movies that I enjoyed, though

I haven't bought one since River City Ransom, and before that it was a while back. There are quite a few I'd like that are already out, but since not only have I run out of space I keep losing it to game saves and Wii Ware games I don't buy any unless I really want them. If and when Nintendo gets around to giving us a storage solution my total will jump quite a bit.

16661
If the Nomad had better battery life I'd definitely buy one. Portable classic Sonic, portable NHL 94, portable Vectorman, hell yes.

16662
I'm singlehandedly responsible for the bad situation with third parties on the Wii. Sorry about that.

I have 60 Virtual Console games, including 9 N64 games, and I have 3 Wii Ware games. I've had storage issues for a while now.

As long as we're critcizing entire genres, I give Madden and Sports games in general a 3.0

on a scale of a 100

ooh ooh I agree.

At least the reviewers played these games extensively before making sweeping judgments of their entire genre.

Star Soldier R looks good, but I'm more interested in Gyrostarr and Protothea so I won't be getting it. GP, you're practically swimming in blocks compared to me, after downloading LostWinds earlier (because nothing good came out today) I'm down to 15. I just pray that that will be enough for Wii Fit. *insert complaint about lack of hard drive*.

I doubt Capcom is planning to do anything with it, if they were willing to pay I'd bet they could get it back. The question is do they want to do that; it took losing the rights to Civilization (which he would later regain) to get Sid Meier to make Alpha Centauri.

One thing I hope will come from the new wave of casual gamers is that their common sense will force the game companies to move from a system of ship dates to real release dates, dates that you can come to a store on and be sure that the game will be there. Hopefully a specific day of the week, like Tuesdays for music and DVDs.

Have people who preordered at GameStop received calls saying it will be in tomorrow? I haven't got one, and I'm wondering if that means something went wrong, or is GameStop even doing calls with Wii Fit, or is it just not going to be there?

I'm going to quote Morari's post from the Light gun shell thread that was obviously meant for this thread because I want to respond to it but I don't want to clutter up that thread.

Just watched the trailer. The graphics look pretty good some spots, but rather bland in others. Unless the develop that All Seeing Eye tool into a fun mechanic, I fear the game will just be another generic FPS. Also, I couldn't help but notice that the aiming reticle looked to be moving around the screen, ala Red Steel. I really hope this is not the case, as that makes turning painfully slow. With the Wii, developers really need to look toward the PC and design games so that the screen moves around the reticle, thus making one's ability to look around much quicker and more precise.

I really don't think they should make the cursors like that in Wii shooters, it works on the PC with a mouse but on the Wii it would take away the feeling of pointing and shooting and be less precise. What this game should do is what EA did with Medal of Honor Heroes 2 and give a lot of options for fine tuning the controls to your liking. In that game you could change the size of the bounding box that determines what point away from the center of the screen moving the cursor begins to scroll the screen (tall and narrow lets you turn quickly and gives more freedom for aiming vertically with precision) and change the turning speed to the point that you can do a 180 degree turn at a speed that would cause major whiplash and injuries if an actual human were to do it, along with a bunch of other options.

It's all Wii Sports' fault, that game taught him to use the remote in his left hand.

Why would you even keep playing if you were to the point of just trying every letter and using the assistance feature, that can't be any fun. I'm still in medium so I don't know anything about the higher levels, but I love the vocabulary testing that the clues turn into, I really like this kind of crossword puzzle.

This review reads like a transcript of a meeting of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Anonymous, with people who used to play the game talking about their pain and leaning on each other for support through these dark times.

16673
Morari, I think that post was meant for the Conduit thread, you should probably move it there so I can argue with it.

That's the problem of this game, it doesn't really get exciting until somewhere around level 13-15 and a lot of people quit before then. I'm glad I saved my game after level 12, I'm going to keep that save forever and when I want to start a new game I'll start from there unless I feel like playing around in the earlier levels.

What I don't like is that apart from a simple button key the instructions aren't included in the game, you click a link in the operations guide that takes you to a page on the Wii Shop Channel to view them. It's done as well as that can be done, the link goes directly to the instructions after a brief connection process and when you're done  it takes you right back to the game, but to do this you have to quit out of the game, which means you can't do it during play without losing anyhting you've done since your last save.

In certain games it makes sense, but I completely understand why he doesn't want to control Mario in Galaxy (a game he hates because of this issue) with his right thumb when he's been using his left one for so long. I've been trying to convince him he's doing it wrong for a while now. There aren't many good non-nunchuk games on the Wii, but he is mostly interested in the VC anyway.
