Nintendo Gaming / RE: Online is ....... CONFIRMED!?!?!?

Not to mention, most strangers you meet online end up being annoying 12 year olds or racist college students.

To say the least. And people are right when they say they need to squeeze every last bit of bandwidth out of the Wi-Fi connection. Fighting games are less forgiving than RTSes or other online games.

It's time Nintendo learned how to patch its games.

Do single-player NPCs count as game mechanics? :P

I predict a music update for tomorrow. (9/20)

It could always be selling better :P.

I beat Mogenar on Hyper Mode today, after one and a half freaking hours. Whee!!

- Apparently you can shoot a missile at his mouth to freeze his face and stun him.
- If you (ab)use Hyper Mode correctly, you can kill his Phazon Boots without taking a single point of damage all three times.
- The battle switches from 'hard' to 'easy but tedious' at the end. He does this pattern where he shoots three magic hands in a row, which give off about 150 total energy, so you can always stay near the maximum.

lawl, you called my bluff. That was mostly insulation to deflect accusations of blatant fanboyism :P.

I vehemently hate console FPSes because of the limitations of the dual-analog, but I really think Nintendo (or a third party) should make a multiplayer-oriented sci-fi FPS. Just because of the controls, it'll be leaps and bounds above the competition.

To be honest, like Arbok said, developers don't usually spend the time and effort it takes to develop and refine a tricky new control scheme just so they can tack it onto a port. If they wanted to give it a serious go, they could have done so in many better ways.

This was for our diversity initiative. We needed the token Nsider member to claim federal benefits.

To be honest, I think this might have been covered a while back, but I still think Nintendo should have done a much better job advertising this game. A lot more is riding on the success of Prime 3 than simply sales revenue- for example, third-party willingness to devote resources to develop 'hardcore' games, as well as proving the superiority of the Wii's first-person controls to people who might not otherwise be interested in the console.

By the way, two of the 'secret message' translations can be found here

I heard it was supposedly a manufacturing defect with the very first batch of units, but I'm not too sure. Anyways, would it have killed them to just put the iPhone screen in?

I'm sure the game will set all sorts of milestones, but to be honest the much-vaunted terrain is kind of ugly- it all looks like high-resolution generic Terragen renders.

Nevertheless, I will definitely be picking up a copy for the PC (when they inevitably port it over...by then I should have a computer good enough to play it). Or maybe I'll find someone with a 360. I can't stand dual-analog, though, which is why I'm glad Microsoft is porting so many XBox games.

SalesBot went on Wikipedia and became sentient. No longer content to inform us that the 'XBox 360 has 390 more years to go before catching up to GBA sales', it now seeks world dominance...one video game enthusiast site at a time.

'Sony Protection Group' sounds either like the division of Sony that thought it was a good idea to infect their customer's CDs with rootkits, or the division of hired company Yakuza gangsters responsible for shaking down shady business establishments for money.

Get out the shotguns, canned rations, and survival fatigues. This is a Peruvian government conspiracy!

So, I pre-ordered my iPod touch, and it's supposed to ship on the 28th. Meanwhile, I can walk into the store and buy one. But apparently there's some problem with the display quality with the early models, so it's I guess all good.

I can't wait until Apple/third-party hackers enable the Secret Bluetooth Chip and write third-party software! Yay for lack of FCC approval!

I liked Isaac better. I think the blond hair suits your forum personality (don't try to read between the lines, there is no hidden meaning there.) But your current avatar also has blond hair. So what is it?!

Also, one-to-one lightsabers will be impossible unless the Wii knows where the remote is in 3D space, and exactly how it is oriented. Also, they need to get the remote to figure out what the 'home' position is at all time to avoid drift and such (for example, if the player moves around while playing).

I agree with Kairon.

And two thumbs up for the new avatar, insanolord .
