I saw a video review of the Japanese version.  Only down points appear to be that you can only save one game file with one city, that there's no terrain levels and no subways or highways.  But the touch controls are exactly what you'd expect, and it looks like a good enough version of the game.  They even eliminated all the pipe nonsense.

I think there are enough adults in the world to support some adult only titles.  But yeah, needs more nudity.

They can always release a paintball / freeze-tag edition for the little kids.

I'm not sure I want them to "stay alive".  Does this mean I am forced to play the game so they don't die or run off?  That was one of the more annoying things about Animal Crossing -- the game punishing you for not playing it.

I love Zelda 2... the best way to level up is to not put back any of the gem things after you beat a boss.  Wait until you are around experience level 6, then return to the old dungeons and get free level ups.  No sense in wasting the free level up on exp. level 2.  Wait until you need a ton of exp. points!

Also: what overworld exploit bug?

Instead of that cheap plastic "steering wheel" wii remote holder, someone needs to come out with one that actually plugs into the remote and adds analog triggers.  Racing with tap tap tap acceleration is a giant step back, no matter how cool tilt steering is.

I bought it, and it's everything I wanted it to be.  If you know what "Rogue-like" means, and have hopes for this game, you won't be disappointed.  If you don't know what that means, stay away (or find out).

As difficult as the reviewer makes it out to be, it's much easier than any Rogue game I've played.  Usually when you die (and you will die in a Rogue-like game many times) it's game over. No saves, no continues, bye, sorry, better luck next time.  Not to mention this game actually tells you what the items do before you unknowingly poison yourself.  The combat is better than Rogue too.  You can change directions without moving and there's a lot of powerful items and weapons.  The game isn't that hard as long as you remember that the enemies in the next dungeon are more dangerous than you think they will be.  Always go in with a Kikan scroll to warp back to town when things look rough.  And you can return to earlier dungeons to find them if the next dungeon is too hard.

I like the game a lot if you can't tell.  I have an hour train ride to the city every day and this kills a lot of time.

I hate to be the one to say it, but getting Grand Theft Auto would help Nintendo get more market share.  Not having it certainly hurt them last round and it was a system selling game on the PS2.  A good conversion with better aiming and driving controls would sell like mad.

They've really outdone themselves.  The $30 price point makes it a no-brainer.  The gimmicky stuff is whatever, gimmicky, but the majority of the remote-aiming gameplay looks fantastic.

I wonder how long before someone makes a 1:1 golf game?  They all seem to say "oooh a swing motion!  better let me swing the club for you!"  i don't see why they can't just put in some decent physics and let the player hit the ball with the club.

Much nicer as everyone has said.  Keyboard support would be nice, but honestly I can't see myself using it much unless it's wireless, and even then.  I have a computer for that.  Still the channel is well done and will come in handy when I'm doing my Wii meetups and want to check my email or any last minute cancellations or something .

I'm much more interested in them finally releasing the DS browser in the US.

This is genius.  I wanted to run through that game again, but wasn't really all that interested in buying another copy.  I figured I'd play through the Gamecube version again.  But at $30 with better graphics and more gameplay, how can I say no?  Smart move.

Oh also also, it has no progressive scan support.  So basically I've played this game about twice because I have to switch my TV over every time I play it.

This was the problem with the Gamecube. "Hey let's take a PS2 game and convert it to the Gamecube with no graphical improvement!  Oh, it turns out the Gamecube doesn't have a lot of ram, oh well I guess it will look worse than a PS2 game!  Wait why is it sellling badly?  Why does Resident Evil 4 look so good?"

Design a game for the system with a good team and you're going to have a solid game, or take proper time with the port like the TimeSplitters series or Soul Calibur 2 for Gamecube.  It's not a big mystery why crappy ports fail.  See also: Burnout on the DS.

Not to mention the game doesn't even support the gamecube's d-pad.  Unless you have an X-Arcade or some other stick where you can map the digital stick to analog, you are SOL.  3 seconds of testing with any fan would have raised all sorts of red flags on this.

I remember playing this on the Atari 800!

With any luck it won't be the online level trading let down that Mario vs. DK March of the Minis was.  Not having any friends with the game means no one played my custom levels.  I wish they'd stop being so worried about people making penis-shaped levels and just let you browse and download from anyone.

Considering I actually enjoy Sword of Vermillion and other sorta first person 8/16 bit dungeon games, I have to wonder if Double Dungeons really is crap, or if this is just an anti-old RPG bias.
