well it doesn't get any hotter than when I'm playing, I just want to know if it's ok to keep the router and the wii on all the time and if anyone else does it.

so i recently got a nintendo usb wi-fi router so i let my wii stay on wii connect 24 overnight. the next day i find out that my wii and the router are both very hot and there was even one point in the day where the wii wouldn't even turn on, i had to unplug it and plug it in to get it to turn on.  So what i want to ask is: is it normal for those things to get hot when left on, and shoult i really keep them on 24/7?
I'd send it to the mailbag but i need a quick response.

The thing about far cry was when i played it, it had trouble telling whether i was slashing with my knife or zooming in, and since slashing brought up your predtor metor i did it a lot and it just wasn't smooth enough for me.
The graphics didn't bother me but the framerate was just too much to deal with.

Hopefully tey're able to add some kind of online play.

Avoid Far Cry, it's aiming is ok, but it's framerate makes you feel like your playing a PC game on a computer that can't handle it's graphics.  Plus it also has trouble telling whether you want to zoom in or whenther you want to slash your knife, which for me killed it because melee attacking is such a big part of the game (since it raises your preditor meter).

I men shure but maby it was a little much to not include ANY other games.  I mean you could bash Zelda for it's blurry textures.

Along with two other games.

I just hope this doesn't end up being sloppy like Far cry (yes I have played it) and seeing as how this won't be pushed as a launch title maby it won't.  Anyone played a Brothers in arms game? Are they any good? Should I be excited at all?

I can't understand how people think Red Steel looks bad.  Shure the cinimas were slapped together but it shure looks better than most gamecube games.  In fact, it looks better then most gamecube games I've played (with the eception of the character models).

Since when did EA's core studios  put a little more effort in a game?

There's umm... err... wait wait it's... no.... umm... hmmm... EA putting effort into a game.... I got it, I got it... no wait... Hmmm... What was the question again?

actually, something about the Wii has coused EA to inovate, Madden looks great and I've played NFS Carbon, it controls great and allows you such easey access to the break that even a rookey car game player like me was ablbe to fly around sharp turns.

All I'm saying is that Ubisoft better figure out that EA isn't slacking off on Wii inovation so they shoouldn't either.

Well I know at it's launch window the had great titles like red steel and Elibits as killer exclusives along with multiplatform titles that shine on the Wii like Madden 07, DBZBT2, and Rayman RR, but now that 2007 is almost here what's there to really look forword to in the future in terms of 3rd party support?  All I can think about now is Sonic, No more Heroes, FF:CC and toes games EA are making.  Is there anything else non-nontendo we shouls be looking out for or are we in for another gamecube?

P.S. I was thinking about this after reading EGM's newest issue

That doesn't make any sence, it's not like Brainage or nintendogs where there isn't an end goal, this is a story driven RPG.

but I'm guessing some other reasons include appealing old school gameplay, classic fantasy stories and cool art style

Well Okiami had a fanticy stroy and a cool aryt style and it sold badly.  An also, DQ IV is going to have a different battle system than the others so I don't think it's because it's "old-school"

I understand that it's very popular in Japan, but why?  Why is it so popular?  What exactly is it about dragon quest that makes it stand out umong other RPG's?

I don't want Nintendo to do what Capcom did with RE.

This is Ubisoft's doing, not nintendo.

well, i never bought the poptt on gcn, but heard it was good. This is pretty much what nintendo did with zelda, so it doesnt matter that much really.

yes but the wii verion came out before the GC version leaving us with little choice.  I also hope they don't pull a farcry and make the graphics worse.  If it's at a budget price (not even Monster 4x4 was a budget price on the Wii when it was on th xbox) then maby it'll be more forgivable.

Heck, this whole freaking operation is nothing but profit.

[Sarcasm] REALLY?! that's ubserd! what next, are you going to say they make video games just so people will buy them and so they can make a profit? Thoes evil evil people![/sarcasm]

look at it this way, the T-G16 has already released Bonks adventures, Superstar Solder, and Bomberman, what else do they have left?  The wii is going to be out for 4 years, what's the point of quickly releasing titles if you've got plenty of time to do it.  Lests say nintndo releases Super Metroid, Earthbound, Zelda, Super mario World, and all of there other best selling francises within 6 weeks.  That's 42 days and already they've given us there whole library of AA titles.  Now what are they going to release for the other 98% of it's 4 year life cycle?  If they release it all right when everyone wanted it then there wouldn't be anything to look forward to in the future.

And what would your other hand have been doing?

Well, it's japaneze so they were bound to have some suggestive content.

This is not entirely true since the PSP has sold like a lead balloon there as well.

that's what I ment, just like the gamecube over here.

Actually, a couple of editors have mentioned that this is a clear indication that in Japan consoles are dying while handhelds are selling like crazy.

that's becouse all the previous generation consoles are on there last legs.  You could argue about the PS2 but it's sold all it ever will.

At least the title is smaller than what they've got for dragon quest swords.

4 player co-op + online = massive faping.

There is a problem with this though. If that's the direction things are going then neither the Wii or the PS3 will win in North America because they won't get the dedicated console support that we expect in North America. Neither of those consoles will get the full treatment of being the market leader in Japan which would give the Xbox 360 a large advantage in North America. Of course this might not mean anything. DQIX might be an anomaly and for the most part consoles remain the focus on developers.

I personally don't want portables to become too popular because I, well, hate playing games on them. I tend to move the controller around too much when playing so the screen is always moving which makes it harder for me to play for a good length of time. Once I got the GB Player I stopped playing my GBA and prior to that I only played GB games on the Super Gameboy. Though I think the future of gaming is no difference between consoles and portables. Both will be compatible with the same games and people can choose whether they want their hardware in a portable or console format.

Just have to see everything from a negative point of view don't cha Ian.

The reason Consoles are dead over there right now is because developers are getting ready for the next generation.  The PS3 and Wii have just Launched and most of there games are still in development, not enough of there killer titles are out yet so now there's not much to get excited about when it comes to thoes systems (except maby Zelda but that's just 1).  As for the other next gen system that's been out for a year, the Xbox 360, it's as popular as the N gage in Japan so it basecly doasn't exist to them.  And the PSP is like the gamcube right now, the only people putting playtime into it right now are loyal fans.

The only system that's got plenty of wind in it's sales is the DS, which is freaken on fire with a stedy slow of game releases to make any owner proud.  It's at the top of it's game and nothing else can match up to it right now , that's why DQ 9 is on it, it's on fire and Square wants to be where the money is.

You shouldn't be worried about handhelds overtaking Consoles, it's the dawn of a new generation and the PS3/Wii are yet to realease there full potential.  If the Wii gains the popularity that the DS has (and from the looks of it it's well on it's way) than the Wii will be the top Console and as a result it'll get all the best games.  It's just that the DS is the better choice right now.

Eventually Ubisoft won't be able to port previous generation games and since they've been pritty sucessful with original titles like Red steel and rayman, they should make original titles in the future.

Worst case sinario: the prince of persia game is a port of the two throwns, the controls in red steel 2 are the same as the previous one and all there games looks worse than an Xbox game.

Best case Senario: Ubisoft starts pulling up original, well controlling games that arn't ports, they create some new Wii spacific francises, and becomes Nintndo's Square-Enex (as in most of there major francises are on the Wii while other systems still get some things)

It's a shame, I really liked how the cars in GT looked.

I want it for 2 reasons,

1. it supposedly handles better than Red Steel (not that I had a problem with red steel but if it's better than who could complain)

2. It'll have more blood than any other Wii game and I'm turning 17 very soon.  After watching Kill Bill I now have a big tast for bloody violence.

You forgot the FF13 CGI footege, oh well.

Here's another prediction: the wii gets another spinoff of a greater game that's on the PS2/3

If they were really stupid they's make FF13 for the 360 because of how well Blue dragon increased it's popularty.
