TMNT? To hard? Pfft, people seem to suck at videogames nowadays.  I douwloaded it because I played it as a kid and I find it fairly chalenging, not "Super Difficult".  On the dam level just swich tutles when one of them starts beeping, it only took me 4 tries to beat and I know I can beat it again without dieing.  And if your faced with a jump with a low cealing, just tap the jump button and he gets right over, you don't have to do flips over every hole.  And besides, you get 2 lives, if you die once you can continue from the begining of the level, but only once.

Seriously, after beating twilight Princess, I welcome a game with good challenge.  I think games are too easey nowadays anyway.  And for the record I didn't find Viewtiful Joe or Devle Mey Cry too difficult, maby it's because I beat stroy mode on f-Zero GX and now I can hanle anything.  (I also got to the 5th level in R-type, it mey only be halfway through but with how hard it is it's still a big acomplishment)

It's been stated that whoever wins will be modified to look better before the games's release and also that the names are just placeholders and will be changed.  I'm almost positive that They're going to use WiiConnect 24 to allow extra dowloadable monsters after the game is relesed So you don't have to worry about the lack of Toho Monsters Arbok.

I'd love to see "The Visitor" as the new monster, grabbing his apponent and stabbing him with it's pincers just seems so Godzilla-y.

I'm not worried, I'll just go play RE:UC, Godfather, Scarface, and manhunt and pretend these games don't exist.

Usually I'd be negative at this but after playing Godfather, I'm confident in what remakes for the wii can do to old games.  Plus, RE4 kicks the snot out of anything else that's been ported.

Just wait until Manhunt 2 comes out, THEN we'll start getting complaints.

I was hoping that 3rd-party games like SSX blur or Sonic would sell a lot of copies but I guess it's just because they came out late in the month.

Quote

Wii Play might have helped sell some of those systems, because 371,000 packages of the game/controller combo were purchased, making it the number two February game behind the Xbox 360's Crackdown.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Wii to feature same online structure as the DS
« on: March 15, 2007, 02:08:59 PM »
I've read about this on so many other forums and I'm glad that here I can actually say how wrong or over worried everyone here is.

Here's the intervew:

Quote

Falafelkid: I would like to know if I am right in assuming that the features mentioned (friend rosters, advanced matchmaking capabilities and comprehensive rankings data) suggest a single, unified online platform for each console, rather than one which is dependent on individual games (as is the case with the DS).

GameSpy: GameSpy’s technology does allow for features that could span multiple games. With the Nintendo Wii, however, the multiplayer features are title-specific.

Falafelkid: But is that the case for all Wii online titles across the board?

GameSpy: Yes, that is the case for Wii titles.

Falafelkid: Just one last question to make absolutely sure I have got this right, please. If I have a friend roster in one game, that roster will not be available to me in any other game. I have to build up an entirely new list for each title, right?

GameSpy: The answer to your question is yes, for the Wii friend lists are game specific.

Now press Ctrl+F and type the word "codes", you mey be suprised that the word "codes" is not mentioned AT ALL!!!!!!!!.  It just means that the only people that are on the firend list from each game will only be firends that have that game, so your entire wii# adress book won't be on every firend list on every online game you have.  You all speak as if this a compleat confrmation of using game spacific firend codes but your all just freaking out over nothing.  This isn't even nintendo saying this, it's just a random website guy asking a random Gamespy rep who probably knows nothing on nintnedo's online plan.  If this were Reggie and, you know, the words CODES was actually used, then ther'd be cause for concern but there isn't.
Andy by the way, it's not like you can't face random people anyway, practicly every online DS game allowed you to face strangers, you just can't talk to them.  Also, since you already exchaned wii #'s with your wii owning firends already, all you need to do is send them an email with your code in it (if it ever becomes neccecery), no paper or pencil required.  And if your the kind of person who can afford a butload of online games at the same time, you'r rich enough for your maid to type in the numbers.

So in conclusion, don't be forshadowing the apocolips just yet, this is a hardly reliable source that can be interprated many ways.

And if you think the wii's online is the crappyest thing since UMD's don't forget it CAN tell the Weather, News, and brows the internet, plus there's always the VC.

Stick that statement into your pipe and smoke it.

Wow, they listened to feedback and got a new voice actor.  "Destroy man" says all of his moves before attacking, and they all start with the word "destroy", wow!

Nintendo Gaming / RE:How popular is Fire Emblem around the world?

Meanwhile, games like Zelda aren't selling as well because they require some degree of gamer skill. It's sad, really...

It was mentioned in one of this site's mailbags that it was most likely that most people bought  the online GCN version since a bunch of people there already have GC's and couldn't get a wii.  Online buys don't show up on sales charts so that's why we think it didn't sell well.  Don't be printing those shirts just yet.

I wonder if Fire Emblem's Japanese sales were hurt by the game not appearing on the N64. It kind of disappeared for a little while there which might have hurt its momentum. Thracia 776 was released on the SNES during the time when the N64 was Nintendo's main console and Fire Emblem didn't return until the GBA and didn't show up again on a current Nintendo console until the Cube game, and at that point the Cube wasn't so popular so less people noticed it. Fire Emblem kind of had a demotion. The top tier game franchises don't get reduced to portables and out-of-date consoles. That type of release schedule makes for a more obscure franchise.

didn't the same thing happen to Metroid?  Now MP3 is one of the wii's most anticipated games now.  I think the problem was FE came out late in the cube's life, at the point where casual gamecube owners stoped looking out for new GC releases, which is why Baiten Kaitos Origins (god rest that great series' soule) did rather badly in sale.

Thanks for your post luigi dude, thoe it mey not reach half a million that often, I'm glad to see nintendo still has reason to bring it over.  I wouldn't mind it being low budjet as long as they keep up the great diologue and keep thoes FMV cell shaded cinimatics.  Any idea on how long it'll take to translate the wii one?

Nintendo Gaming / How popular is Fire Emblem around the world?
« on: March 03, 2007, 05:09:33 PM »
Well, I've heard that Fire Emblem is very popular in Japan but how popular exactly?  If it's popular than how come it only sold 50,000 it's first week while a PSP game sold more than half a million at the same time? What would you compare it to an American game in terms of popularity?

And how does it do in other countries like North America or Europe? What real reason does Nintendo have to go to the work of translate all that text to release the wii fire emblem game in those places?

If anyone can throw some statistics on fire emblem it would be appreciated, I love the fire emblem games and want to know if it's doing well enough for Nintendo to keep making those games and translating them in English, or better yet if it's selling well enough for them to do something big budget like adding voices to at least most of the text.  Almost all other RPG's have a lot of voices so why not fire Emblem?

why do they need to go through rare! They didn't have to with Donkey Kong? and besides, having goldeneye on the VC will be another reason for people to buy the wii and I think Reggie will find it worthwile.

NeoThunder, Nintendo can release Donkey Kong Country on the Virtual Console because they own the Donkey Kong license; they did create it, after all.

So doesn't that mean that all Nintendo needs to do is get permission from Activision to have a James Bond game and there all set?  Doesn't sound that hard.

Well, we'll if anything we mey just get the original Mother.

I want the old Fire Emblem games, you know the one that actually has Marth in it (Roy was in a GBA game so I'm not getting my hopes up).

I find this suprising considering it's the same nintendo that releases VC games without anything added (I don't mind that nothing's changed but lots of people seem to bitch about it)  Could this mean they'll actually put effort into there VC games?!

I'm sorry but he name "Sin & Punishment" Just sounds so F*cken awsome.

This would be a good argument if the year was 2000 and online gaming was still somewhat new to consoles. We're in 2007 now. That's like saying we need to wait for rumble so that Nintendo can do it right. Sorry, no, Nintendo needs to get their sh*t together and get this out the door. It's a solved problem.

So you say making an online service is just as simple as making a controller shake?  What puzzle me is that if it's a "Solved problem" then why do people complain about nintnedo wi-fi?

Whatever, I still think that they've delayed it because they want to make it better then the ds's service.  Make it more then just choosing "random person" or "person from firend code"

Did anyone peep this article on this very site

Online Dev Kits already distributed

I don't think so Jig Insane, it seems like almost all the lttle "editorials" that are appearing on this trend seem to be ignoring that yes devs now are able to put there games online and are no longer restricted to do so.

What puzzles me is that first people complain about the DS's online service being bad, then they say Nintnedo should've had online ready sooner because they have the DS's already set up.  Did you ever stop to think that maby it's taking a while to get online games for the wii ready because they want to make the sarvice better then the DS's?  I don't know how popular online play is in Japan (xbox excells at it but it sells like crap there) but maby nintendo releases Pokemon BR in Japan with all the options on an online DS game already because Japanese gamers arn't as bitchy as us, but when it comes to America, Reggie plans on giving things a facelift because he knows American gamers care a lot more about online play.  Maby he's using this extra time to better the service.

This is of corse speculation but it's the idea I'm going with.

about time, I hope MK: Armagedon is delayed for online play, I'm shure everyone would understand if they did.

It'd be awsome if in a couple of months we start getting patches to make current games online, imagin online multiplayer for raymman, excite truck or even Red Steel (say what you will about it, people like it).

Then again I don't know how "patches" work so don't flame me if what I said was rediculus.

Think about it, there were two different studioes working on splinter cell double agent, one for the 360/pc version and the other for the ps2/xbox/gamecube/wii version.  They both had the same story but everything (even how thge story was told) was almost compleatly different.  Its possible that might be the case with this version.  Just speculation.

I don't think it's a port.  A completely different studio is working on the Wii version while the Psp and Ps2 versions are being worked on together.  In fact, I think the studio that made the original is making the Wii version.

This is likely due to Reggie asking Rockstar to make M rated games.

Frankly this makes me happy.  Notice how different people are making the PSP/PS2 versions then the wii versions?  The wii version has to be more uniqe then "just another port"
