I honestly think it would have been more fun if you had more contol of your player, but basically all you're doing is hitting the ball when it comes near you. That, and the boring style of the game didn't really leave a mark on me. I played two rounds of it when the Fusion Tour came to my school, and when my turn was over...it didn't really bum me out. It was just like "mmm, ok" and I haven't really had a desire to play the game again.

It's one thing to have a deceptively simple game, that's quick to pick up and play but really has a plethora of quircky options and mechanics to go through. But Tennis didn't give me that kind of impression. It was just sort of...hit the ball.

That's exactly what I was afraid of.

Nintendo Gaming / Question about Wii tennis.
« on: October 11, 2006, 06:22:19 PM »
Well, I was watching some videos of people playing Wii tennis and it got me thinking, where's the challenge in it?  I mean you don't have to even move your character and I can't see how this could be fun for more than 5 minuts.  Doase it matter which side of your body you swing from? Is there more to it than just blindly swinging?  I just want to know if I'll even be enjoying the game.  This goes mostly to whoever has played Wii tennis.

I wnder if it really was there first time playing.  Or maby there all actors and there's lag because there not really playing and just reacting to a video.  Kind of like the Red steel trailers.

LOL. I be that Bloodworth mistaken Viewtiful Mario with ViewtifulGamer.

well I chose this name because I've used it in every forum I'm a member in.  I didn't even know about viewtiful gamer when I thought of the name.  And besides, our avitars are different enough for you to be able to tell us apart.

but I can clearly see the huge improvement they made with it in Origins.

Amen to that.

I strongly disagree about the voice acting, you can't put it in the same league as the original because this time it sounds as if it were directed.  The only complaint in voices is that some people sound pritty annoying but they still show cohension.  I especcially liked how well the "Pollolo the 2nd" character did his lines so great.

So whereas mixing magnus was a vague and tedious chore in Baten Kaitos, it is a fun hobby and diversion in this prequel

Amen to that!

whats so great about it's multiplayer that not having it ruins the whole game?  It's not like Halo 2 where all the fun you get from it comes from multiplayer.

well I see any good 3rd party support as good news.

What I find interesting is that he said enviroments will be compleatly destructibel, I can just see myself bombing the hell out of every city.

But I do hope they improve the visuals, the fire looks like crap.  If they can make it look like the human torches fire effects from "Marvel Ultimate alliance" thn this game will look just great.

It's hard to tell for me if the battle system is better or worse because it's just so different.  It's like asking if either ledgend of Zelda or half-life has a better method of control.

It's strange to me that a lot of people are ok with this game being so family firendly yet when it comes to nintendo games they call that kind of style "I LOVE HALO 2"

Super Mario ATTYD (name is too long), Fire Emblem, and Baiten Kaitos both the original and the brand new sequal I've really liked.  And besides the card battleing system isn't at all like any real life card game, so much in fact that it would be impossible to replicate it into a real trading card game without doing a magor overhowle.

well they said the control works fine, but it just bothers me that developers see the Wii's lack of power as a reason to make underpowered games.

how can you not be excited for Red Steel.  The blog they wrote most recently said there going to use this last month to polish out the rest of the controles.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:bring Resident Evil 5 to the Wii
« on: September 29, 2006, 08:48:02 PM »
oy, I've responded on many topics like ths before and this is what I said.

Why was RE4 so appealing? I think it had mostly to do with the new camra angle, it made it easyer to aim and move around and added tention to the most simplest situations.  It had the kind of action previous REgames didn't have and it's what made it so fun.  Now what's the main reason people want RE5? Most likely due to the fact that it'll have the new method of control that made RE4 so great and people beleve it'll be what'll make RE5 so awsome.  Now look at what the wii'll be getting.  RE 1-4 with the RE4 control sceme and a look that will no dought show off th power the Wii has.  Calling this a rehashed port couldn't be further from the truth, here your getting a new perspective of all the great RE games in a story that'll explain everything that happens during the RE seres whitch will make newcomers be able to jump right in.  And need I remind you RE2 and RE3 havn't ever gotten a real remake? But here we've got a piece of them both using RE4's aiming system.  Just imaging when your facing off against Nemisis RE4 laser pointing style, how can you not fnd that appealing?

And don't forget 2 things:

1. Capcom looooooves bringing there successful francises to as many systems as they can.

2. Wouldn't real die hard RE fans who only have a 360 or PS3 want to try to play this game just to relive the best parts of the RE francise with a RE4 perspective?

And in a closign note, do you think major companies even take online comic books sriously?

I got the game and so far I'm loving it, now for Arbok's question.

First of All BK fans should be happy to know the voice acting has greatly improved.  So far none of the voice actors sound like thre reading directly from the scrips and they sound like they were acually directed.  So in other words no more unenthusiastic zombie talk or horrid sounding old ladies (from what I've played) And plus the script writers weren't afraid to use the words "Hell" or "ass" whenever it felt right.

As for the battle system I can't say if it's better or worse but I can say its very different.  Depending on how many cards you attacked with you have a meter below the players picture, and the more cards you used when attacking the bigger the meter gets. After attacking the meter goes down and when it depleats that character can go again.  The turns characters take in battle isn't as linier as other turn based RPG's.  And how you do comboes is different.  You have equiped cards with the # 0, attack cards from 1-3 that all look the same as there respected numbered cards, and the special attacks are 4 and higher.  The new battle system I'd say is more fast paced to the point where you won't be able to observe half of the battle animations that occure becaouse it's likely while one guy is attacking you'll bechoosing another persons attacks. but there can be long enough pouses if you choose quicky enough.  When you use a card with a number on it the next card you choose must have a higher # so if you pick a card with a 3 on it the next card must be 4 or higher.  And that's only scratching the serface, just teling you exactly how different it is.

And as for the locations you'll see some old places and a lot of new ones, and even old ones that are a little bit modifyed to match the setting of you being in the past.  From what I played your in Alfard while it still had trees and you get to see Azah before it was invaded by the empire.  Plus there's a place made entirely out of clay and that's cool.

I've said all I can think of right now.  I'll just say it has more new places than old from the bit I played and that the story is just as deep as engaging as before.  If you liked the first one this will be definetly worth trying out.  If you didn't like the first one just see if the things you didn't like about it before have been fixed.  And if you havn't played BK pick up this prequil and see why it made the list of Gamecubes lost gems list, than pick up the first one if you'd like to see how it all ends.

Since this is THEE last game cube exclusive game, I'd say the gamecube died to a great siren song thanks to this game.

here's hoping they decide to continue working on ther DS version and good luck to them on Disaster: day of crysis.

I'd would've loved to make a podcast, I'd be able to think of a lot of cool things to talk about.  Like how I got a gamecube for 300$ with SSBM.

but unfortunetly I don't have the right equipment.
