What self-respecting Madden gamer is going to pass the ball and high step down field by mashing buttons on a lump of plastic like a monkey?
Traditional controllers are stupid because I made a funny metaphor out of it.

Yeah probably.  I was mostly just musing.  Wasn't the GBC game developed by NST?

I liked Coyote 'cause he reloads faster than Dan.  I didn't use Con or Kaede much 'cause they didn't have much health.  Rarely used Mask 'cause you don't get any blood.  Though I didn't use him much, Kevin was cool 'cause he uses knives.  I almost never used his invisibility except for the puzzles that required it, though, 'cause it used blood, and I needed most of my thin blood for recovering health. D:  I gave most of my thick blood to Coyote, and once he got the critical lock-on thing I used him almost exclusively.

The GBC Bionic Comando had a playable female character.  I d'know why they'd pick her over the male, though, since the original BC had a male character.  Either one would make a cool SSB character, though.  Since the hook was so integral in the BC games, they could make it more prominent than Link's hookshot or Samus' grappling beam.  Forward-B could shoot the hook forward to knock people over, for example.  B could be his regular gun, and down-B could be a spray from the 3-way weapon.  Maybe.

I'm wondering if they'll have both cyborg Smokes.  I haven't played a MK game since UMK3, but I read Noob Saibot upgraded and reprogrammed him or something.  I like his old cyborg look better. :<

I was thinking the same thing.  The incredibly thick fog obstructing your view kind of takes the place of thick, polygon hungry foliage obstructing your view.  It also made caves and the catacombs level feel darker without making everything impossible to see.  It may have been primarily to limit the number of polygons being drawn to maintain a decent framerate, but Turok is a good example of artfully working around limitations for the sake of gameplay.

Frame rate.  Good art design is much more important to me than technical superiority.  There are some old games--dated graphics and all--that I still think are gorgeous even when compared to new games with modern graphics engines.

The problem with putting this presentation into a game is that the natural progression of the game happens slower: if you simply sit there and watch the anime long enough, things will become clear. In K7, you need to play far enough into the game to see the story unfold and without a storyline to enforce their actions, most players might simply decide the game is crap, especially if they don't KNOW the story is coming.

When I first played it, I actually DIDN'T like it. I had this weird guy in a red suit telling me random crap and a clunky interface which didn't exactly cross me as enjoyable. For some reason, I had this overwhelming desire to put the game down and never play it again simply because the game basically tosses you in the water and hopes you swim in the very beginning. I'm certain this killed it for many potential players and reviewers alike. I actually had 2-3 people in the room with me and I gauged their reactions from it: they seemed to have the exact same reaction that I did, initially being put off by the game and even making negative comments about it but becoming interested once the storyline picked up.

I actually found it rather compeling that so much was so vague in the beginning.  There were so many questions, I wanted to keep playing just to find out what the hell was going on.  No one ever explicitly explains everything to you because they talk as if they're addressing Garcian, not the player.  The game maintains a sense of discovery in the player all throughout the game.

Killer 7 was pretty awesome.  I like the controls just fine, but I found combat to be annoying in some places.  Like I could never kill a giant smile.

Anyway, if nothing else is in common, I'm glad we're getting another game with a similar graphic style.  I was surprised to find that Killer 7 looked quite a bit more appealing in motion than it did in screenshots.  I guess that generally is the case, though.

I like the idea of Rayman in SSBB.  He could have his old-school boomerang fist thingy.  And helicopter hair. O:

Capcom should give us Harmen Smith.

I don't know how voice recognition programs work, but maybe it would be possible to have a player speak their name to teach the game how to pronounce it, then a voice synthesis program could take that pronunciation data to speak everyone's name in a unified voice that fits the game's context (e.g., announcer's voice in SSB).

Nuh uh, Batman would lure it into like a large body of water, then throw a batarang at like an electrical wire, which would then fall into the water and zappify the gundam, or something clever like that.

I only really liked the magnum.  What did you think was stolen from FEAR?  The melee and lame, useless mutagen slomo?
