TalkBack / RE:Virtual Console Mondays: Super Star Soldier Confirmed
« on: November 27, 2006, 02:14:16 PM »
Well, this is a Hudson game not a Nintendo game. Maybe my facts are sketchy but I thought Nintendo was to release some of their games every Monday. So, this shouldn't be the only one. If that's the case then this is no better than XBox Live. Everyone has particular games they'd like to see on this service, and if Nintendo lollygags about getting them available then I don't see the value here.

Honestly, Nintendo should put up a poll every week with a list of games for people to vote on to see what game or games should be chosen for download. That would make a lot of people very happy, and Nintendo wouldn't have to all the guesswork. Not to mention voting in a poll would be kinda fun to see what game wins out.

TalkBack / RE:Wii Consoles Already Arriving at Retailers

There won't be a big line for Wii where I live. Here in Michigan the big weekend event is the Michigan Ohio State football game. That's good news for me! I'll be waiting for Wii. Already bought 2 Wii games at EB Games, so I'm ready.

TalkBack / RE:Future Wii Model to Include DVD Playback
« on: November 13, 2006, 06:01:50 AM »
I could care less about a DVD player, I have somewhere near 8 as it is.

But this is a really stupid move by Nintendo. They're sending mixed messages here. They set out to create a "game machine" and are now adding other media devices to it? I'm confused, and so will consumers.

Not to mention the war cry of people who buy a Wii and are not aware of future DVD capabiliteis. They will be ticked, no doubt about it.

So what's next? MP3?

Yes! Star Fox 64! The one good N64 game I somehow managed to miss out on! And Legend of the Seven Stars! Too many exclamation points!

Hahaha, my sincere apologies. Well, good work all the same. I hope to hear more of this witty banter.

Great PodCast. I'm actually gunning for my bachelor's degree in marketing. Already have the associates, yay! Anywho, word of mouth advertising seems to work nowhere but gaming. I completely agree with that. And college campuses are definitely the way to go. Me and two other friends introduced the DS to our school lounge and within three weeks 12 other people had a DS. One guy bought 2 because his got stolen. It was hilarious, good times were had, and Mario Kart reigned as homework took a back seat. But, anyway Wii really needs to hit the college campuses. It couldn't be a more perfect atmosphere especially since college students typically can't afford a PS3.

Two things.

One I'm surprised you never mentioned the "Get N or Get out" ads that Nintendo ran during the N64 days which I thought was one of their most coherent campaigns.

And two, I'm shocked no one bashed the PSP campaign. Is that not the WORST video game campaign in history?

Wow, 21 million Gamecubes? That's actually more than I thought. I wonder if the GBA is the highest selling systems of all time ever. Anyone know? Those numbers are ridiculous.

Since all my friends are getting a Wii day one, I'll be holding out on getting more controllers. I'll get one when the new colors are released. I want my main Wii-Mote to be blue baby!

TalkBack / RE:EB Games Wii Pre-Orders - Extremely Limited Quantities?
« on: October 13, 2006, 08:15:30 AM »
I hate gamestop so much. I've been a Best Buy customer for a long time now and am glad, GLAD says I. They're just afraid they'll over-pre-order like they did with the 360, that's all this is.

Finally, this game gets a credible review. My usual cycle of video game sites didn't give this game the time of day to review! I bought this day one irregardless but haven't touched it since I haven't beat Eternal Wings yet...10 hours in and I'm a comin' Origins!

Hey, have you guys heard that the Wii malfunctions in sunlight? Gamepro posted an article about it. Wondering what you think.

I got to play Wii here in Detroit last Friday, w00t! Did I just w00t? Anyway, the music stunk but the games were amazing! Beat Ridley on the first go too. Got in for free with a press pass. Everyone watch Start Button News for inside info on Detroit's Nintendo Fusion Tour. With any luck the footage will be posted on youtube and google before the month is out! Just search Start Button News! That name again is Start Button News!

« on: September 26, 2006, 11:49:47 AM »
Nintendo will never relieve itself from the perceived "kid" image by the masses. As far as Toys R Us goes I've always loved their stores and I wouldn't mind buying my Wii there. Heck, it may be the place to be to avoid long lines at popular outlets like Gamestop and Best Buy.

I really hope your right Rob. This could change the face of gaming forever. Once precieved as a 'geek' thing to do may well transform into a social activity shared by Wii. Yes, I left proper grammer for a bad Wii pun deal with it!

You guys should really do a podcast about video games you LIKE. I swear the last few you've done nothing but bash games, and nearly all of them in the spectrum from bad to good. I think at one point one of you actually had bad things to say about the New Super Mario Bros. And to say only 1 game was worth getting on the Cube? I've got 41 games on the Cube that says otherwise, and while they're not ALL amazing they are worth it.

Well, honestly you guys need to renew my faith in the hobby I enjoy so much instead of boiling every game that you come accross as cannon fodder.

mantidor is right, but I'm glad we'll all start from scratch. It levels the playing field substantially. Bad gamers could transform into good and good gamers can finally be overtaken. Everything is new again! I'm nothing but excited.

TalkBack / RE:Wii For $170, Says Electronic Arts
« on: August 21, 2006, 12:02:30 PM »
Wii will be my first choice of console regardless of the price. It's sad when EA is dishing out more pricing info than Nintendo though. SPEAK TO ME NINTENDO! (shakes computer hoping the Goldeneye won't blow up.)

That's all well and good, but what I really want is a Wii Lightsaber Star Wars game where the WiiMote IS the Lightsaber! Just think of the sound system on the controller!

Movement will still be analog so it's not like Wii users will be cluncking around everywhere, similar to many disapointed by the DS Mario 64.

We don't know that for sure.  What was shown at E3 was running on not-final hardware, was using a controller that wasn't completely finished, and even the game itself was far from complete.  I'm confident that Nintendo has been doing more than make the game look pretty with that extra year of development time.

When was I discussing graphics?
