General Gaming / RE:IGN Game and Console of the Year
« on: January 14, 2007, 06:44:06 PM »
People seem to be thinking the PS3 is such a good game because of games being released in the later part's of 2007.  My friend has a PS3 and the only game he has now is Genji (Yeah it really is that bad) But the graphics seem to wow him the only good thing I've heard him say about it is "Look on some of the enemies armor there's reflection" The game looks nice but why should I care?

RE and Twilight Princess showed that the gamecube could pump out some nice looking games.  If the Wii can produce things 2 to 3x better then that I am actually excited.  Graphics were never a selling point for me.  Earthbound was a pretty bad looking game when it was released.  But it was so damn cool.

PS3 could have been a very nice choice this generation if they took out the Blueray player.  I think they really shot themselves in the foot with this.  It increases overall cost and what it brings to the table allienates a lot of potential PS3 buyers.

And about potential I forgot because I haven't looked at an upcoming release for PS3 in a long time.  But the main 2 are MGS and FF.  Good games in their own right (I never got into MGS I was raised in an island in the east guess which one) But for people to spend $600 for it now is a little ridiculous.  It seems that Sony seems to have taken a stand that best graphics > everything.  You would think they would have looked at the PS2 and seen why that was a success.

I can't see how with all of the bad press Sony recieved over PS3 that it recieved "____" of the year unless it was Tool of the year.  ok this kind of turned into a rant without my knowledge and falling in line with my other rants none of the facts are backed up and the spelling is atrocious.  Sorry for reading but you read it you can't unread it

General Gaming / RE:RPGs: NOT a group friendly genre

Oh I don't know about that, when I finally found Earthbound, me and my friends sat around playing that.  And getting bored in that game is kind of hard.  Although it's fairly common to level grind around Onett.

Most RPG's are meant to put you into the Main Character's shoes, so for the most part they are meant to be a one player experience.  Sometimes people really like the story of the game.  My girlfriend loved Fatal Frame 2 and it's story but hated the gameplay it scared her too much.  But another problem is that there are sometimes a lot of sidequests which deviate from the main plot and lose people's attention.

Most people I know have a 360, what I've seen is people always say "I want a PS3 but it's too expensive" So they buy a Wii to tide them over.  I work in the electronics department.  It's funny to see ill informed people coming to buy the PS3, and seeing the 600 Price tag attached to it.  We're a small town but we have like 10 and they haven't moved in a couple weeks.

How many actual smart thieves are there?  I mean I know every thief thinks they are smart.  It just seems that most of them get a very distingushing mark that sets them apart from the crowd.  A gold tooth, a mom tattoo across their forehead.

And most crimes are pulled off with so little style.  Where are the good old days, when a bank robber wore a Nixon mask and really cased the joint?  I've never stole anything, although it would be really stupid if I did.  The only asian person in a whole community, I think (I'm not sure) I would get identified pretty quickly.

Hmm referring to your question about the DBZ game.  I would rent it first and see if you want to buy it.  The learning curve with the Nunchuk and remote takes a long time (Not like Red Steel it's just really really complicated no real control problems after a while it becomes second nature) Although it's more satisfying firing a kamehameha then one of those other point to  one side of the tv and bring it back to the middle energy attacks.   The story mode is well the story no changes really although the cutscenes are really bad.  They saved a lot of money on those.  I haven't tried it with gamecube controller, because I don't think there is a button layout in the manual.  But using the remote won't tire you out and it's always more fun with the remote anyway.  If your a fan of DBZ then of course your going to like this.  But if not a little try before you buy ^-^

Although getting to buy a PS3 doesn't seem like a lottery prize more like a gypsy curse on your wallet.  But to each his own

Well I think parents sometimes have the misconception when a child says "I hate you" that means forever, and thus he/she gets everything they want.  And if they believe in Santa, say they fell off the sleigh.  And are now powering Nuclear Wessles pointed straight at us.  Thanks Sony ^^

I have enough money, lets just hope I don't see an Infommercial for any Ronco products between now and October or we could have a problem.

I wonder if the attack will issue in real time or it will go to a cutscene, I hope realtime if it's a cutscene it would interrupt play.  I just remembered I would really like to see Geno or Mallow those guys were so cool.  A Crybaby and a possessed doll.

I would like to see more earthbound characters.  Like Poo.  Poo and Wii go hand in hand.

That's what I was thinking, I don't know if they would tack on the motion controls.  If that is the case I would think the Wii controller would have an advantage.  You may be able to dodge or run faster.
