Damn, I really wanted to download NFS Most Wanted (if available in the eshop) since I haven't been putting that extra credit promotion to use, but this sale might just make me go disc with this one. My choices would be..

NFS, Lego City and...

3rd one is a tough call. I've been wanting to try Darksiders 2 but after that best buy sale (that I can't take advantage of) I figure other stores will follow suit and drop that one pretty low, even if  temporarily, soon..

The only other game out there that I currently know of is Ninja Gaiden 3 which I'm still on the fence about. Maybe getting a game free will make me take the plunge on that one.

Bought Bit Trip, always heard good things about those games and I only ever played one of the demos..

Tried buying Darksiders but they're not shipping and the closest pick-up location just isn't that close to make it worth the deal. Sucks.

The controls on the Conduit are perfect in every way. I'd rather play an FPS with the Wii Remote+Nunchuck rather than keyboard +mouse.

and I'd NEVER want to play an FPS on a touchscreen device with no physical buttons. Which is why I don't understand how a mobile version could possibly be better.

i wonder why exactly its excellent on mobiles...

It's also pretty impossible for Nintendo, or any videogame company, to really be reactionary in their development cycle.  So, uh, the Wii U ain't selling as well as they would like.  Well what can they really do about that?  The games that are due for 2013 were already planned well ahead of time.  They can't just hammer out a decent game in a few months in response to the market.  What we'll see at E3, and for probably all of 2013, was already fairly planned out before the Wii U even launched.

I suppose Nintendo could show trailers for games that are in early development that aren't due for a while to build some hype of the future, but they haven't done that sort of thing in a while.  They typically don't announce anything that E3 that is not intended to be in stores prior to the next E3.

They did that with Project HAMMMERRRRRREDD at the beginning of the Wii cycle.

Funny you mention that, because a somewhat quick way to release games while the big guns are being polished is to go back to **** like Project H.A.M.E.R. and Disaster: Day of Crisis and gave them a wii u up-convert or something. I know Disaster came out in Europe but not in the US, so there's still a ton of people like myself who would be curious enough to check it out. ****, at this point just go and release Captain Rainbow as an eshop only title and I'll buy it, my japanese copy is just sitting there and I'll likely never open it..

I gotta admit, I like there ads with the spanish cover songs. The one playing a spanish version of Big Pappa makes me lose my ****; something about hearing them try to rap in spanish so fast just to stay within the rhythm of the song is funny to me.

You know I knew this kind of stuff went on. I just didn't know it was hidden like that like ancient government secrets or something. Somehow that just makes it worse.

This. So so so much this.. it weird me out..

so.. I should have waited? I'm 20 hours into Xenoblade and I like it, but its hard to go from wii u games to wii games (visually) these days.. (at least ones with this graphical style. I've been playing a lot of Brawl recently and it looks great no matter what)

I thought it was the opposite - Seasons was more puzzle-oriented and Ages was more about battle. It's been so long since I played them that the two bleed together in my memory, I look forward to giving them another go.

I do remember that the Link Cable was required for a side quest involving collectible rings, of which there was a large list and some could only be obtained in each game. There was also one for booting the game in a GBA, since these two games came out at the end of the GBC's life. As far as story connectivity was involved, however, it used a series of passwords that could be entered into the opposite title.

I had to check Wikipedia because I was curious, and while I know it isn't the best source for information on certain things, I think it's safe to say this article is accurate; Ages concentrates on puzzles, while Seasons focuses on action.

Here's a little thing I've been playing around with for a while on Guitar. Not much going on with it, but I think it's pretty catchy.

Great stuff, can't wait to check out the others.

Stogi is always good so I'll give it a go afterwards.

I wanted to play Ages over Seasons because I heard it had tougher puzzles than Seasons, which had tougher enemies. I still haven't beat it.. I'm at the boss, I just can't beat it lol

Batman: The Movie (1966)

Batman to Robin: "Our job is done. Let's leave inconspicuously.. Through the window, we'll use our Batropes."

I guess going through the door while world leaders are arguing and seem to have no recollection that they were recently dehydrated into tiny piles of pixie dust would be too conspicuous, for Batman & Robin that is.

This movie is more amazing if you watch the DVD with the commentary on.

I don't believe Netflix has that option. I do enjoy listening to commentary on films though, usually very interesting.

The last movie I watched was License to Drive (1988)

It's probably been 20 years since I last saw it, and after looking it up on Wikipedia, saw that it was Heather Graham's first her first high-profile starring role.

I enjoyed it now just as much as when I was younger. Not the best movie, but a fun one from my childhood.

Great movie!

Xenoblade on 3DS would be fantastic for the length and amount of things you can do in that game, especially with how pick up and play friendly it is.  But I think it the scope and magnitude of the environments would lose something in transition to the smaller screen.

I agree completely. Save anytime, anywhere is awesome for a game like this but those environments are too far reaching to really work on a portable screen.

I guess I'm fairly adaptable so while I did faint eventually, I was able to hold my own for a good few minutes. Then again the reason I chose the bow was so I wouldn't have to get in close because I figured that was the quickest way to get slaughtered.
I'm pretty sure you're doing it wrong.

Hold X to charge up the bow:
level 1 charge is a piercing shot. An arrow that makes multiple hits as it travels through the monster. The Lagombi is a small monster so it doesn't work so well on it.
level 2 charge is a rapid shot. A bunch of arrows shoot out in vertical formation.

Holding R will put you in to aim mode. Don't bother going in to aim mode if you're not already charging up the bow, you're just wasting time. As soon as you're in aim mode switch your thumb to the d-pad and aim your bow.

At maximum charge and while in aim mode you'll notice a red circle appear in the distance. This is the area where your "arc shot" will take affect. To make an arc shot, while holding X - press A. Its raining arrows.

Also when shooting arrows, the very top of the arrow's flight path is where you'll get optimum damage.

If you're charging your bow but you decide its best not to shoot then you can press B to roll out of your charge.

The bow isn't the easiest weapon to start with. I'd recommend the sword and shield.

I never said I wasn't doing it right, but I agree that this demo doesn't really explain much so how am I supposed to figure out these crazy moves without prior experience? plus why the hell would i want to aim with the dpad..

so after reading through this I decided to download the demo (which I had no idea was available, I really need to check the eshop more often) and while it was KIND of fun, I can see where the complaints are coming from.

I start off at the camp and test the buttons to see what everything does, move into the first area and decide to take on a mammoth with the long range bow but the controls are crazy cumbersome. Ok so I hit X on the gamepad to wield my weapon, X to fire, ok cool but I couldn't figure out any good way to aim and the camera ends up getting super wonky, leaving me in situations where the camera decides to pan above my character looking down so I can't see my surroundings and won't reset. I hit R or ZR and it adjust behind me for some sort of special attack, but i isn't very helpful because I can only aim with the Right analogue stick.. but I need to use X to fire.. which is on the right side of the controller. If I use the left analogue stick, I can only do quick turns while holding R, so I have no choice but to lift my left hand off and try to aim the right stick in the most awkward position ever.

I guess I'm fairly adaptable so while I did faint eventually, I was able to hold my own for a good few minutes. Then again the reason I chose the bow was so I wouldn't have to get in close because I figured that was the quickest way to get slaughtered.

I'm still not sure if I should pick this one up. From what I've heard/read, it seems like the kind of game I'd enjoy (minus being a huge time sink) but this demo might ruin that.

Wish I could say I'm better at FPS games than Jimmy and the other guy were, but ever since Wiimote controls for shooters.. that's exactly what I look like playing on dual-sticks.

That's the problem, I don't game that much. All my handhelds turn to paperweights after about 5, maybe ten games tops.
