Day 6

So Pale or stevey was forced off the boards the previous day right? The guy masquerading as vudu was all "Hey guys someone else told me to flame him lol" but it's not like his was even the deciding flame, no Pale had already packed his bags. When the board realised the horrible thing they had done, everyone turned on vudu's impostor. "IT'S YOUR FAULT PALE WASN'T THE REAL PALE" yelled some while other's insulted vudu's mother, who was on the record for being fat. The voice of reason surprisingly came from Ian Sane.

Unfortunately, Ian wasn't posting a message, rather he was just yelling at his potplant. Thus the yelling at the caricature of vudu continued. He tried to divert attention by posting porn but people only responded by posting his ip and from it, home address.

When the postman knocked on the door minutes later, vudu's impostor, probably just some random poster panicked and moved house.

While the Funhouse Pietriots met the previous day, Australian spy and forum no show AussieBen was spying on them. Ben Kosima had always despised the Funhouse Pietriots for their endorsement of Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. He reported back to Steven Rodriguez the movements of Khushrenada. With his flight details noted, Steven Rodriguez personally rang the airline and posted a terror threat. Khushrenada was arrested and interrorgated. Turns out he wasn't a muslim but his passport invalid anyway. Since these fateful events, Pryopizm has not been seen on the boards.

The real vudu had been dealing with the boards problems in an unorthodox manner. He had taken up marijuana. While he was learning the identities of a few of the masquerading fools he wasn't really getting anyway and the frustration was showing in his forum posts. So after a couple of bongs of the MaryJane he rolled out of bed to find his computer completely destroyed! Closer inspection found the remains to be cold, IceCold even. Who had snuck into his house while he was high?

Also aroudn this time, Billy began to get very irritable, and it's not like I had even clawed the furniture. He kept paving around mumbling something about usernames and signatures. That fatty is crazy I tell you.

If there was a single moment when the strings holding the site togethor fell through it was just after everyone flamed Pale off the boards. Even though his name was Pale, it was clear to everyone by his avatar and posts that he was most likely stevey and everyone's patience with him had reached breaking point. Stevey was pretty used to flaming though, so it took more than that to send him off, it wasn't until he received death threats via Wii-mail from Grey Ninja that he took the hint and left the board forever.

While this was ahppening on the boards, things were happening off the board. Things were getting serious and 18 Days called a meeting of remaining Pietriots in real life. After a match of Wii Tennis, things got heated. "YOUR THE WORST PARTNER OF ALL TIME BILL!" yelled Shift-Key "Shutup! you're stupid Mii keeps getting in my way!" Bill retorted. Shift-Key was out of patience and simply PUNCHED BILL IN THE GOB! "Get out Bill, or should I call you NuclearSpeed? since you try and pass as a traitor, you probably are one. You should just post under your real name, like I do/." Bill started crying and ran off, catching his flight back to Bumfuck South Carolina, or wherever he comes from. He was Never seen on the boards again.

Shift-Key feeling full of himself went back home. Lying on his desk when he came back was a present. "With love from your buddy IceCold" it read. Shift-Key exciteadly tore it open to find an ADVANCE COPY OF THE WOW EXPANSION PACK!. In a flood of weakness, he immdiatley installed it on his computer and has not been seen outside of Azeroth since.

Ian Sane was very mad about stubbing his toe on the bathroom door and stayed in his room all day. Later his Mum found him passed out with scribbling over all the walls.

With Khush out of the way, everyone's attention returned to that prick Garnee. Garnee just lost it and came out "I AM ACTUALLY JEFF SHIRLEY" And posted pictures of him in his bathrobe to prove it.


The response was not pleasant.
"LOL YOUR AFRO HAS NOTHING ON MINE" The Perm bragged.
"What do you tihnk you are sum jedi? RELIGION IS SO DUM!" remarked oohhboy
Just then, a vision came to Jeff, it was his old mentor Justin Nation "You must leave NWR my son and contact my old master Louie the Cat for additional training, only then may you return to the boards"
Jeff immediately dropped his Garnee account and headed off. I'm still waiting for him to arrive actually, it's been about a month or so now so I think he just got arrested for indecent exposure in public. That bathrobe isn't too long you know.

Oh yeah, the religion remark. Despite the boards decent into chaos, there was one man still trying to uphold his martial law. Steven Rodriguez seized on the religous comment, nothing was going to be this controversial on HIS board! He went straight out and BANNED oohhboy. He wasn't the only one upset, the board other Jedi, IceCold, knowing that oohhboy was just another false account of Mario. Using his Jedi powers, he obtained remote access to Mario's Dell computer in Sydney and deleted all of his ACDC mp3s. Mario required counseling and never returned under another psydonymn to NWR again.

Wethor Requiem saw any of this was unknown, he never seemed to return to the new board, much like the vanishing of Zach Adams after ezboard was abandoned. No one cared to impersonate him either for he was just a regular forum member.

It was another hectic day on NWR's forums. Everyone started bitching about the absence of Garnee even though whoever was imitating him was obviously doing an excellent job! Barbs were thrown around when Khushrenada's inposter played his role to perfection and started being diplomatic about the whole thing. Everyone told him to STFU but then Garnee came in "nah nah TVman is the real arsehead" with that everyone was shocked and people began attacking whoever was playing the role of TVman! "YOU CREATED AUSTRALIAN IDOL" Dasmos yelled. Others joined in the fray. MaryJane's dupe dropped a great one, comparing TVman to a hangover. TVman didn't come back to stand up for himself, he was simply gone, leaving absolutely nothing to change.

18 Days however was not impressed with this inposter Khush! "WHAT! THIS IS THE FUNHOUSE! I WONT HAVE THESE BORING FARTS IN MY FUNHOUSE! EXPEL HIM!" And with that, she emailed Shift-Key, elite computer hacker (or in actual fact Computer Science student) the plan. Shift-Key obliged and DoSed (whatever taht stands for, proabbly just meaningless pre 1984 operating system nonsense) attacked the Khushrenada's imposters computer. Their network was overloaded and with a two million dollar ISP bill, the fake could not continue to use the internet.
The real Khush asked his funhouse buddies "Do I really sound that lame?"
"Lol no" Bill joked as several private MSN conversations with different answers flashed in the background.

Ian Sane found time in his busy schedule of complaining, whinging and crying to type up another note on Facebook.The titled it "Fuel costs too much" and it read:

These were a pretty crazy first couple of days, but what happend over the next week really made the hairs on my tail fluffy. You should've seen it!

TVman is dead. He was a townie. As was Khushrenada who fell at the hands of the Funhouse Mafia.

Voting is open. I'll compile a list of people who MUST vote to stay in the game in a moment, but they should know who they are. NWR kill night tonight.

So like all the people on the board got all worked up because animecyberrat was back despite being banned months earlier. They figured segagamer12 was obviously him. But oh no it wasn't! Buckethatted Mike Gamin! Gamin ralised that posting under his normal Pale name on the new board would be obvious suicide as all the forumers would think him in league with NWR staff when he was still deciding his loyalties himself! He made the mistake of pretending to be segagamer though as everyone was angry with him anyway and probably wouldn't change their mind even if he revealed he was really Pale. In the end it was a stinging barb from whoever was pretending to be Sir_Stabbalot who remarked that segagamer "reminded him of homosexuality" causing Pale to burst into tears and leave NWR forever!

When he heard of this, Steven Rodriguez was displeased even more than that time Billy was mad because I scratched up his towel after he wouldn't change the Paper Mario 1000 Year Door score despite being able to. Steven wasn't happy with the weak heartedness of Mike, who simply left because he was weak and he was especially unhappy with the revelation of Mike's sympathies for the forumers. He wasn't going to take this so he jsut LASHED OUT AND BANNED BILL or whoever it was behind that account. He didn't even tell any of his goons about it! He just pushed the ban button all by himself. Turns out it was the local board harlet Professional 666 masquerading as Bill.

Ian Sane saw all this and made a note on his facebook account. It read as follows (although obviosuly not in quote formating because Ian doesn't know how to use those):

Days are now 24 hours long. It's clear a few of you were put out by yesterday's timetable as was I. Since my working hours are getting stupid, I feel this is the only way we can make the game better for all. This means all night actions have to be PMed to me between now and this time tomorrow. Regardless of the time you PM them, they will not take effect until the half hour gap or so between days.

LOUIE TEH CAT HERE!!

Allright so I want to tell you a story, the story of carnarge that unfolded on that site I used to work for called Planet Gamecube that fell apart not long after my departure. I'd been keeping the rats out of that sinking ship's hull for years but when I was jettisoned the rats soon took over - so to speak.

So liek Nintendo brought out this new console, a revolution but it wasn't a revolution at all no no it was Wii much like the sound children make when on the slide or what I've used to gain ownership over Billy's possessions. But no some poeple didn't like this new name, like Bloodworth, he hated it so PGC had to get a new name and without my fine guidance they settled on Nintendo World Report which makes it sound like Nintendo is still in school and got a B- or something. So yeah hen like the forums were all about sooking about the join over the Wii name and that NWR doesn't rhyme like PGC did and how Fusetalk is rubbish and that the only reason PGC use this is becuase Rick Powers or whatever alias he's under these days licks the bottom of Fusetalk or something or nothing. So then like new forums were made and in the chaos that followed, everyone took wandering and Perm's lead by registerigna nd posting under dupe accounts, masquerading as other members! This behavior brought about much confusion and disgust from all involved and massive flame wars broke out! If the mods didn't already have their own names taken there might've been a chance for calm but there wasn't and people began to berate each other until someone was forced to leave the board forever!

The events that followed on the first day, went something like this:

Nintendo World Mafia

Planet Gamecube is in turmoil! Following the hotly debated and highly controversial name change to Nintendo World Report and uprising in the forums occurred! Disenchantment with Fusetalk had long been high but the most recent staff shakeup along with the complete lack of updates to an aging forum system saw it boil over. A malicious hacker amoung the NWR population took advantage of the many bugs and security holes in Fusetalk and destroyed the forum! Within hours, Ty uploaded his own laugho anonymas, stripped back version of the board. Turf wars soon broke out on the new forums and different groups emerged, struggling to take control and run this brave new forum.


----NWR Staffers----
Struggling to maintain control of their VERY OWN FORUM, NWR has it's own internal turmoils to take care of due to the latest staff shakeup.
Mafia A

Steven 'WindyMan' Rodriguez
Steven is mad! He's taken it upon himself to return order to the forum, stripping his shifty fellow staffers of ban powers! Steven is calling the shots and he's suspicious of his fellow staffers. He still commands their respect though and they will follow his orders while he researches their motives in his spare time.
Mafia Godfather, calls all the shots and assigns goons to do the kills. Investigates on non killing nights. Unlike regular Godfathers, will be revealed as a mobster if investigated, but not identified as the Godfather.

Mike 'Pale' Gamin
A new recruit to the NWR staff, Pale is still sympathetic to the cause of his old friends in the forum. With his trusty green bucket hat for disguise he is familiar to all.
Mafia turncoat, free to choose where his alliegence lies. Identified as Mafia by Mafia investigations and as a Townie to the Cop

Taking over the board and having far to great an influence on the site are the poster from the Funhouse. They will berate, troll and flame their opponents till their opponent gives up and leaves forever.

With the Funhouse named after him in April. And then the sex changed alter ego being declared the Funhouse Princess months later, 18 Days has risen to the top of the Funhouse rabble and calls the shots to what she believes are her loyal underlings.

Ty is a long time staffer and the founder of the Funhouse. Unfortunately for him a series of Funhouse name changes and him moving to Japan sees his influence in both circles wane. A situation his loud and extravagent personality is unhappy with.
Ty is a Mafia DOUBLE AGENT. He is a listed member of both Mafias. He must loyally follow the kil instructions of either godfather but he is free to choose his own loyalty. Is revealed as being the double agent to the Townie Cop but not the Godfathers.


----Forum Members----
The undifferentiated mass of the forums are the real victims of the power struggle. They long for a return to the tranquility of the old forums where they can happily gloa about DS sales figures and laugh at Sony. Through the power of the ballot, they have their last chance to rid the forum of militant jerks who are trying to run it.

PIAC / Dr Zoidberg
PIAC loves the forums and is one of the most prolific posters in it's history. He also loves women with diarhea and wants to share this interest with the board. Doing so will see him banned and then brought back by a renegade admin as a moderator, unleashing Dr Zoidberg. Dr Zoidberg acts without prejudice, banning and harassing members as much as he likes.
PIAC is a regular townie until killed. After being killed Dr Zoidberg gets one kill every night and is exempt from voting requirements. Killing Dr Zoidberg is done through the regular procedures.

Ian Sane
Ian Sane has been around the block a million times and wont ever shut up. Ian can just drop his thoughts on the whole debacle every day, free for it to be ignored, agreed with or ridiculed by his contemporaries.
Gossiper. Each day, Ian send me one message. It can be anything to do with anything. I will work it into the next days story post.

This ambitious young man has many grand ideas and thoughts. Unfortunately he is also a deluded fool. As the drama unfolds, our resident Lindsay Lohan fan takes it upon himself to discover as much about his contemporaries as he can.
Village Idiot. Every day he will investigate a player. The information he receives will always be wrong. However, Mafia turncoats will be revealed as Mafia to him.

vudu
A gifted member with an exception lie detector. Through careful study of those close to him, he instinctively learns their true identities.
Town cop in the most traditional sense.

IceCold
IceCold had always been well liked and well known on the forum but few knew the meaning behind his Username. Turns out it was a description of his heart. IceCold isn't taking any crap from staff or the funhouse and is after all of them.
Vigilante. In a slight modification, will not take his own life until he kills two innocents.

wandering
This self destructive member has just had enough of PGC NWR or whatever it's called, he hates the staff, the other members and himself.
Suicide Bomber. If he kills himself, he kills more people the earlier in the game, max of 5, minimun of 2. Kills anyone who kills him. If voted out, kills the last two people who voted for him.

Infernal Monkey
Mr popular of Gamingforce is unhappy that he gets no respect at NWR, especially from that animecyberate bloke. He craves power and hopes to get it through taking out that whore 18 Days.
Assasin. Can only kill 18 Days. If he succedes, takes control of the Funhouse Mafia. If he fails, he dies. The action takes place immediately. If I get the PM halfway through voting, the death will occur then.

Billy Berghammer
Every day, Billy's soul is eroded more by the evil of Game Informer. He still cries himself to sleep over the Paper Mario debacle. When he receives word of the anarchy at his old site, he has an epiphany. If he can remove NWR's current leader, he can take back control of his old site and along with it his own happiness.
Assasin, but can only target Steven Rodriguez

This prominant forum member has been known to change people's minds with a barrage of Daisy pics and Ada Wong videos.
Town Whore, changes one person's vote before the execution.


Despite some of the more obtuse roles, it's vanilla flavoured Mafia. NWR Staff strike first, Funhouse investigate first. 12 hour days, 12 hour nights. Days start at 8am New York Time. The result of the vote is final and the player dies immediately, ties result in all tied players dieing.

There are however a few secret abilities of some roles. None of them are gamebreaking and they'll be explained to whoever get's the role.
All roles will be determined randomly, name out of a hat. It is possible for a player to be assigned a role name after himself but it's not likely. Don't think too much about the names.

Signup open from now until January 3rd. Roles go out on the 4th/5th, Game Starts on the 7th.

I got tired and checked the tv and the weather was on.

I returned to the computer to find MSN open

As one point I think they all accused each other of cheating on their partners.

Unfortunately the offending threads were the victim of over moderation. You see with 1 admin and about 3 mods present, the topic was split, deleted, moved and raped all at once, causing destruction in it's wake. One guy who was just trying to wish the emo kid a happy birthday somehow made a whole new thread in a different board altogethor. I'm surprised we didn't crash the phpbb script.

Fine combing the chat for some juicy quote. Unsurprisingly, they all came from the girls.

Mana games have never been good. You go back, you play Zelda: Link to the Past these days and it's not that good. And here's the thing, Link to the Past was better than Secret of Mana in just about every way. And while the Zelda series has gone on to be one of the strongest franchises in gaming. It's constantly pushing the frontiers of game design and remains in the upper echelon of not just it's own genre but video games as a form of interactive art. Mana games on the other hand, originally Zelda with stats, have floundered about like a lost puppy waiting to die, kept alive by meager sales from confused and disillusioned fans, eyes clouded by nostalgia. Even I was suckered into this. I bought Sword of Mana the day it came out. I'll give it a quick review right here: Mindless garbage, score: No Fist*.

Just face it guys. The series is a joke, it's not getting any better, and these tenuously related games wouldn't sell at all if they didn't have 'Mana' tacked onto their name somewhere.

Ok guys, I'm going to do the next mafia, Singup will be within the next 48 hours, more likely 24.
The theme and storyline is a secret, well Shift Key knows it cos I'm a blabber mouth but yeah.

Just want to roll a few ideas by and see what you guys think of them. I just want to present some of the concepts and you guys can yell at them or suggest improvements whatever. Need to iron some of this down.

Dual mob mafia games seem to be the most interesting and I'll most likely be running with this, any objections?

Double agents. I'm thinking of giving each of the three groups double agents. Townie/Mob-blue townie/mob-red and a scary Mob-blue/Mob-red double agent. Obviously they'll be the only one who knows they're a double agent. Thing is should I give them set loyalties or let them decide? And if I let them decide should I make them tell me or let them keep it to themselves.
I think I'll run with this idea because it creates the possibilty of in fighting in a mob. True mob members might want to weed out any suspected traitorous double agents.

In order to increase suspision within the mob, what if they were oblivious to their counterparts roles? As in they wern't informed of who was the Godfather/any other role I might include. While I imagine most mobs would want to come clean, an annoymas Godfather might choose to act like a one man army.

Suicide bomber.
I'll only include one, I promise. But I'll promise to not include one at all if you guys don't want one.

Character who becomes more powerful after death.
townie role this one. I'm considering a character who has it in their intrests to be killed. I'll give an explanation that makes sense within the story as to why can can come back and why they become more powerful. Obviously they'll want to hide their death so they'll be exempt from requirements to vote.

Seers who get misinformation.
I'm still not sure how I'll do this one. Maybe I'll make it that they hear bullshit 30% of the time or I'll make two seers and one of them gets everything wrong but neither of them know who gets the misinformation. Thoughts?

Gossiper.
A townie who contacts me daily. In this corrospondance they can tell me ANYTHING. It can be their suspicions, shoutouts to their Mum, confessing who they like or any information they want to be public knowledge. I'll work this into the story somehow. Maybe it will be broadcast from loudspeakers, maybe it'll show up in a newspaper article. Maybe it will be graffitied on a wall. Whatever, I'll work it into the theme. I literally thought up this role about 5 seonds ago so please help me out with it.

Well that's about it really. This thread will only really be relevent for a day or so so don't thinkt hrough your replies, just spam them up now! Also jsut throw anything at me if you don't want to talk about these roles. A role you'd like to see make an appearance in the game, an idea you had, whatever. Post post post.

So I heard that one time, there was a big gaming event held and the nearest Planet Gamecube Staff member couldn't make it so out of nowhere, PGC got Steven Pham to cover an event. It was something about Pokémon or something. Is there any chance of something like this happening again? What if say a major event was held an a rather isolated city? Would PGC ever consider enlisting the help of various forum members again to cover such a hypothetical situation?

K so I've been listening to music with my headphones for the past 3 hours right. And then iTunes started playing Fall Out Boy and seriously my ears just starting bloody RINGING. I don't even have the music up loud because I value what's left of my hearing but nup time for pain co-incideds with time for lousy mainstream punk band. I guess this just proves that this weak band is evil.

ps. Stupid word censor. I need to express how I really feel about this important issue. Lack of swearing limits my potential to convey emotion.

My launch plans are in disarray at the moment.

A straight answer from Iwata would be cool but I heard it might be Iwata Time and that's not happening.
