Townies, don't trust The Perm if insanolord is voted out tonight, you'll all discover he's a townie

77
vote ThePerm

He admitted to forgetting about the first day, and there was no mafia hit, but there has been one every night since then.

Vote Dasmos

Person of Interest: 7/10

It's been a long time since I was interested in any sort of cop drama, but what makes this one interesting is that the main guys are neither cops nor government agents, but 'merely' concerned citizens, one of whom has access to a 'big brother' machine being used by the government to prevent another 9/11 but that can also pick out violent crimes that are likely to happen as well. What's holding me back is that I was a little disappointed in the acting from the guy from Lost. I don't know if it's his tone of voice, lack of inflections, or what, but something about the way he talks seems not only false, but is somewhat annoying. I'm trying to accept it as just the way his character talks, but it's hard.

Playboy Club: 2/10
I'm giving it a 2 because of the boobage, but otherwise absolutely terrible. I literally disliked everything about it; the acting, cinematography, story, and execution. The concept is good I suppose, but it just did nothing for me.

I'm just glad someone has finally made a mass market tablet. Hooray for technology!

So says the person who voted out a townie yesterday

The townie who said; "I'm Mafia"

84
vote DrewMG

I still say we should vote someone else, but what's the point at this point? Tomorrow, it'll be rather clear if bustin is right though, but woe unto us if he's wrong.

1.

I want an item too, but bustin and The Perm seem like much more likely candidates to me...

I actually liked that movie. It was great to get a realistic vision of what happens during outbreaks. It was also fascinating how chance could make such a terrible disease.

Also the pacing was fantastic. It went from relatively calm to full on anarchy.

I'd have to give it at least an 8.

That total anarchy last for about twenty minutes before they found the vaccine

I feel fairly certain that some of the people in this list are mafia. It was a safe vote, right? Just mix in with the crowd while knowing thatguy was a townie.

Is it also a coincidence that there was no mob hit and ThePerm admits to forgetting about the game until the day is over? Seems there are other players that didn't show either, but mafia members tend to be more active as they have more at stake.

Perhaps you missed the section of the rules that say if you vote for the person who is killed you get an item the next day? Is there a reason you didn't want a chance at an item, or did you just not know? Your summation about ThePerm is interesting however, so I'm not sure how to vote.

Mop it up, Silenced and Halbred posted in yesterday's thread but didn't vote, while Dasmos, Isanolord, Sixth Angel, Stevey, and The Perm didn't post at all. Do we have lazy townies who don't appreciate the abilities they've been given, a keen mafia who knows to lay low, or has Khushrenada just found the perfect way to mindfuck us all?

Is sundoulus' request to be given a random number invalid?

And does anyone know the exact origin of powned?

Do you mean "pwn'd" and it's variants? It's a pretty obvious deviation of "owned", with roots in leetspeak. I'd wager to bet that the word was originally little more than a typo, as the p and the o are right next to each other on your standard English keyboard.

Upon looking it up, it seems that there might be some history for the usage being more along the lines of "pawned", which is a chess term that describes being put into check by a pawn. Either way, the implication is that of a rather humiliating defeat.

The more you know! ;)

I used to play an MMORPG called Asheron's Call, and in that game the term pawned was heavily used in PvP battles, then all of a sudden I started seeing people use pwned, and I've always thought it was a result of that.

Contagion: 5/10

The worst well-acted movie I've ever seen. They tried to be a non-typical epidemic movie by focusing on unusual aspects of the events, but they in turn made a boring movie.

I see what you're saying, and yeah the GC layout was a little awkward for fighting games, but I remember adapting to it. What sucked was playing the GC version of Soul Caliber 2 at home, and then playing the PS2 version at a friends house and constantly pressing the wrong buttons.

For some reason I can't quote the source post, but it says they're working hard on making sure it will reach visual parity with competing HD consoles. Parity? Why not superiority?

I personally loved the nontraditional N64 button layout and the GC as well and thought they worked great.

There is a mirror, but it's a townie ability if I'm reading the rules correctly. So if you take thatguy at his word, and I'm reading Mirror's ability right, he can't have it.

Unless he's lying about being mafia, and now that I've found the ability list, the mirror parlays abilities, not votes so I still don't get it, unless he has Crash.

I also watched Terra Nova. not bad, shows promise, blah blah blah, but the dinosaur CGI was pretty bad. Almost reminded me Raptor Island, only with an actual budget attached. I guess i kinda hped for better effects considering that Jurassic Park was 15 or years ago and even video have approached a level where they could have done some effects a little better, but I see the show having plenty of room to get better. I'll tune in for a second week.

My feelings exactly. Exactly like, I was just about to post this but read this first, Jurassic Park reference and everything. Oh but not Raptor Island, I don't even know what that is.

MaryJane on BoardWalk empire, they also replayed all the episodes in marathon on Sunday. Which was good, because i got them on my DVR for the HBO preview weekend. Otherwise I wouldn't have it to watch.

Damn, wish I had seen that... I watched season 5 of Dexter the week before watching the 1st episode and that definitely helped.

The Kids Are Alright: 8/10

Really good movie about two kids birthed through artificial insemination (separately by a lesbian couple) seeking out their shared biological father. The movie is fairly predictable with some things, but unique in its presentation, and development. I liked it.

Odd strategy thatguy is using. Is he telling the truth or not...I'm confused.

Not voting just yet.

I always tell the truth. If there's one thing I've never done, I have to say I have never, ever lied.

That means that he's lying and has some ulterior motive... but what? Is there really a mirror that's going to deflect his votes onto someone else?

Vote: thatguy
