There aren't a lot of plot threads strung between the Toy Story movies. They're fairly standalone.

Standalone in that it's the same story in all three?

Yeah, but that puts it off limits to most people. But, I see that wasn't your point, so point taken.

It would be pretty cool if Nintendo open sourced the controller. Like you couldn't mess with the system itself, but they could make a channel that streams controller hacks. It wouldn't affect the main game, or whatever else is taking place on the screen, just play on the controller, or have like a 'pop-up video' like app for the TV show you're watching.

Also, can the system stream Netflix to the TV and a game to controller? Or is it one at a time? Could it possibly play a Wii game (or Wii U game that uses Wiimotes only) and a controller game at the same time?

You forgot reason number 9.

Hackers are going to have a ball with it.

Nintendo has come a long way from their rigid Japanese philosophy only days, but embracing hackers...

Depends if they like the Kinect stuff going on.

Your Highness: 7.5/10

This movie wasn't very funny, and the plot was nothing original, but for a reason I can't explain, I liked it.

Maybe, but it doesn't seem to stop third parties on Xbox 360 even though some people don't own a HDD (it's a small minority, but they still exist and some do download DLC).

True, but a cheap flash drive works just as well as a hard drive for the 360.

I went into Breaking Bad with mediocre expectations, and the first episode was good, the second also pretty good, though I wish it would have covered more ground, and then the next two episodes were near pointless and hardly funny all leading to the inevitable execution. It's like those episodes of Dragon Ball Z where Goku spent the whole episode powering up a kamehameha or 3 rising to the new level of super saiyan. One of the great things about Weeds is how quickly things happen, not that I have ADD or can't appreciate a movie like Gone With The Wind (one of my favorites of all time btw), but I just hate when things drag out endlessly and then reach the foregone conclusion. If they could have worked it out with Krazy 8 or killed him accidentally, or something other than the obvious he died trying to defend himself after magically getting an opportunity to get a weapon, it wouldn't have annoyed me as much. It's just too much of the same for me...

As for Thundercats, why did no one tell me this started already? :)

I started watching season one, and after four episodes I just couldn't take it anymore.

What made the story generic in my mind was the lack of depth. It's like the Hans Christian Anderson versions of the Brother's Grimm stories. Except that the only thing I liked about the movie was the amount of people who died/Cap. Am. killed.

Captain America: 7/10

Lots of action in this one. Mind-numbing, totally pointless, action of **** blowing up in the too often used montage. The story was terribly generic and they didn't go beneath the surface on anything they did. Didn't the serum they used to create Captain America actually have a name and not just 'the serum'? What about that box to Oden's Gate or whatever it was, they barely spoke of it. His shield, that took like two seconds, but him being a show-boy for an inconsequential senator took like ten minutes. To me, this movie, like Thor, was just terribly generic. It brought nothing new to the table, didn't even attempt to challenge you mentally, and lives off of action instead of substance. I don't regret seeing the movie, and I'd probably watch again (for free this time) but it was just so bland to me.

I thought incongruity was intentional and added an unexpected layer to the movie. I really liked this film, the story itself was a little uninteresting, but I thought the presentation and the characters made up for that. But then again, I can also fully appreciate your take on the movie so, idk.

My only qualms with the series is that I do not think it has longevity. How many lessons can frodo learn before we pay him no attention?

I'm hoping that in later episodes he's putting into practice the things he learned, but will need reminders, and in the new situations he encounters Wilfred will be a constant reminder of his new choices and lifestyle.

I really hope each developer or publisher has get its own online environment from Nintendo where they can set their own rules and parameters under Nintendo's overarching rules.

Wilfred: 8/10
Funny as hell while keeping a deep meaning.
I decided to watch this show based on recommendations in this thread (maybe only one but I'm on my phone and don't feel like looking) and I'm glad I did. There were two episodes out of five that weren't all that funny, but the 'lesson' of the show carried it through. This is definitely a show to check out. It's kind of Donnie Darko meets Yes Man, and it works great.

Looks good, but isn't there already a thread for this sort of thing?

I would just like to remind everyone that I am not a 'she'.

MaryJane (Sirius Black) was ended by the evil Corrupted Wizard. He was a regular Hogwarts student.

Fixed!!

Oh, and thanks for the game.

If the helmet is lightweight, I don't see what problems it presents as you'd be playing in the privacy of your home.

Clearly 3D is evolving rapidly. Are there any new technologies that Sony is interested in?
Yeah absolutely. One of the cool things we’ve just announced is our new PlayStation monitor, this is not only a great HD, 2D and 3D monitor, but it also supports a unique feature that lets two players play head-to-head gaming, full-screen on the same screen without each other seeing the others screen.
This is going to be great feature that many developers are really excited about.
We've also got a new head mounted display that we showed at CES, that can produce really great quality 3D and a very immersive experience for games. The head-mounted display has twin-OLED screens; very high quality.
At the moment it’s just a head-mounted display; the head isn’t being tracked – but that’s something we’re doing R&D on. I have to say, what we’ve done in the R&D projects has just been fantastic.
We’re working with a couple of games at Sony that are experimenting with virtual reality type experiences.

Are you saying virtual reality is coming back?
Yeah it could be, it certainly seems possible, and these head-mounted displays incorporate 3D tech. It’s very, very cool. And obviously it’s a fantastic way to experience 3D because both images are being directly fed into each eye.

Not an outright confirmation, but they seem to be working on it.
