PSU isn't going to go much farther than that.  It will be lucky to hit 200,000 in Japan.

I for one will be lining up to buy one early...so I can go sell it on ebay and use that money to fund my Wii and games and possibly my friend's Wii.

Of course that was late life of the Xbox, but still that is horrible.  Late life Gamecube was selling 200+ units usually, if I remember correctly.

Although, I am sure the units sold in America for Gamecube late life mirrored that of Xbox in Japan.

Actually, Xbox is now down to double digit and sometimes single digit numbers.  Up until 2 months ago, Gamecube was outselling 360 each week.  More gamecubes have been sold this year than 360s in Japan.

Sonic and the Not-So-Secret Rings

They already let the cat out of the bag, how could they be secret if we already know they are secret? :P

So where is Ridge Racer 7 which is supposed to be a launch title exclusive to PS3?

Or Sacramento, or Oakland, or San Jose, or any of the outlying cities.  I'd be willing to make an effort to get to any of these.  I wonder how they choose their ambassadors.

1.  Wii will support PLII

3.  Dolby Digital sounds better than PLII
4.  If 1-3 bother you that much you should not buy a Wii.

There really isn't anything to argue here.  How much one might prefer Dolby Digital over PLII is completely relative to an individual's situation and audio system.

You left out the fact that the mass public would want DD or DTS over DLPII by a strong majority and not having DD will IMO(though the mass public may not notice) be a bigger blow to the system than no HD for the sole fact that it will be a pretty horrible dvd player without it.

Sounds to me like they want both versions to sell.  If they included GC controls in the Wii version, there would be no point for the GC version at all.  To me, this is Nintendo throwing a bone to all the loyal GC owners who don't want to or can't upgrade yet.

And in fact, we had surround sound in the N64 days.  It just got better with Pro Logic II on the Gamecube.

Hey don't knock Xenosaga.  It never really tried to be more than a 3d anime with a few gameplay breaks inbetween chapters.

Makes you also wonder how many copies of Brain Age sold with it being only $20 srp.  Doesn't the number of units sold get posted at some point?

Er, maybe, but if the PSP is any indicator of what will happen, they'll lose those publishers, too.

Some studios scaled back but most axed UMD support entirely, saying the discs just weren't selling at all and as such they couldn't justify even bothering to make them anymore. Likewise, major retailers are either scaling back or dropping UMD, with Wal-Mart dropping them completely.

I don't see why BluRay will be any different as both BluRay and UMD have just about everything in common: they both only work on a system no one owns, they both have questionable support (and UMD support was actually better), and they're both unnecessary.

Blu-Ray is in even worse shape than Betamax was. At least Beta had better quality than did VHS, but BluRay costs more and has worse quality than HD-DVD. HD-DVD may have less room, but how many yottabytes does one movie need?

Of course, you aren't factoring in the fact that the only bluray player on the market has faulty video decompression algorithms in it and that the first spec sheet had to use mpeg2 video compression whereas starting with discs releasing September and later will use VC1 compression and much MUCH better players will be available such as the Pioneer Elite BD player.

This fight has just started.  Bluray has more studios behind it and more hardware companies making the players than hd-dvd.  They won't start jumping ship until long after all the bugs have been worked out.  This fight will last at least another 2-3 years I think and eventually make both formats obsolete anyways.

The fact, the umd format was fated to fail because it could only be played on a psp, whereas bluray and hd-dvd will be played on game consoles, stand alone players and in computers.  Support will not waiver as fast as it did for umd.

They're adding III to the DS cart and releasing all of them together as one game in the US. (My hope anyways)

Plus all, remember that Resident Evil 2 was fit completely onto a 512 megabit N64 cart(including a couple extra tiny files).  So this is really nothing.

Isn't this the first time Animal Crossing WW has not been in the top 10?
The world is crashing.

I'm definitely interested in it.  However, one thing I was thinking about was maybe getting free downloads of some games when purchasing certain games.  Like maybe getting Excite Bike for free as a download when purchasing Excite Truck or something like that.

I'll still buy a bunch of games, but getting a few as bonus items for buying Wii games would rule as well.

Heh, the same thing happened to us.  I told her to just give up and say orange.  Amazingly it worked!!  But just that one time.  She tried it the next blue and didn't work.  It was quite amusing.

My roommate's fiance played Brain Age when I left it at home one day(I usually bring it to work with me) and when I came home, the battery was near dead and she said that with her next paycheck, she is getting a DSL and Brain Age and possibly Tetris DS(she loves Tetris).  This has also prompted her and my roommate to get a Wii at launch.

It's also a plus for me because he works at Walmart in the electronics dept.  He can secure two Wii's and we can get them at the EE discount.

I have not done a screen protector before but I know someone who has done hundreds of them.  He stated that the cheap way to make a lint-free room is to close the bathroom door(first covering the DS and screen cover so they don't get wet, then getting rid of most lint making items like towels and wash cloths and such, possibly even having less clothing on, even down to just underwear), turn on the shower to the hottest setting and run it for 4-5 minutes.  Wait until the majority of the steam has fallen to the ground as that is what gets rid of the lint in the air.  Then try applying it.  You may still get lint but it's less likely than if you were at your kitchen table.
