Whoa whoa... hold on there.

We don't even know where Nintendo is going with the Gameboy line yet. Is the DS the "next gameboy", or was Nintendo sincere about the whole "Third Pillar" thing.

If there's still a Nextgen Gameboy forthcoming, it probably wouldn't be until late '07 at the earliest, and I wouldn't expect to see the GBA entirely off the market until that happens.

It might make some sense for Nintendo, especially with the recent rumors floating around of an Xbox-branded handheld media device/game system. Coming up with a single screen GB4, then a few years into its lifespan whipping out a DS2 with GB4 backwards compatibility.

Cross-posting is becoming a habit.....

The next GameBoy?

Ummm.... mokup frenzy, lets try and redesing the cube... for fun.

asides from that.... I wonder if the Revolution will get smaller than its curent (proposed) size... the DVD would limit its reduction... but if they forego the controler ports it would allow for an small reduction in size I guess.... still it would be a bit hard to visualize, but posible...

mokup frenzyyy....

Well it depends on what they do at E3.

If they show TP with REV controls, then dont expect it out till the REV launchs.

If they show TP and mentioning nothing of REV controls, then expect it out sooner.

Its kinda like a demented groundhogs day.....

Those swords doesn't define Ganon though. They looked like toothpicks in his hands.  With one bigass sword, it just seems like he could do more damage. Plus, it's just overall cooler. The designs on the sword are marvelous. I mean, that trophy in SSBM where he's posing with his sword held downward is pretty badass. Now imagine that in motion, with his cape flapping in front of him in the wind.

P.S. I was saying he should be a bit bigger than the SSBM's version. Obviously in WW he was a good size (I probably just should of said that instead).

I am in the same situation Manditor.

Once I get a DS, Minish cap is first on my list.

So who else thinks Ganondorf will finally have his huge ass sword and long ass cape in TP? I don't know who said it, but Smash Bros.'s model of Ganondorf was perfect. Honestly, the only thing I would change is his size (make him a bit bigger). Also, can you imagine an inter-dimensional battle between Ganondorf? Like you fight him in the real world until if flees into the Twilight Realm. From there you fight him with whatever unique powers you'll have in that realm until he flees back into the real world. But beware, he automatically transforms into Ganon in the Twilight Realm and is enormous in side. Finally, you trap him in the real world. Once you are about to deal the finally blow, he uses his triforce of power to transport you to into some other realm (maybe something akin to hell!). Anyway, just a thought

Which they are...

It's been said that they will launch with 3 colors. None of those colors are confirmed, but white is an easy guess.

My others would be black and some color other than silver. They'll go with black because of how reminicent it will look when compared to the REV at E3. Plus it'll give a chance for direct sexy-ness comparison with the PSP (but really, if it looks even almost as sleek as the PSP, then you can cut another branch of the PSP's tree). Also, not silver because that has been basically the only color out (in the states at least) and they want the lite to be recognized as a different model.

"I played it this morning for the first time after hearing about it officially a few days ago - the picture really doesn't do it justice, the screens are as bright as an AGT Game Boy (eg. even brighter and sharper than a PSP) - it feels much nicer in your hand - and most of all it looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL - it looks sexier than a PSP, and it's significantly smaller than a current DS. The power switch is now a flick-switch on the side and the stylus goes in sideways rather than in the top. Seen two colours so far including the white. White is best. I love my company!!!!"

I'm guessing this is real, though bias impression of the system.

oohhhhhhhhhhh

I can finally buy a DS....lite that is.

I love the little touches they gave the revision. Especially, the embevelled DS symbol on the top of the case.

Can you imagine how immensely popular this will be? There are many people on this forum alone (a Nintendo FUROM) that have not bought a DS yet. All of those Nintendo fans unwilling to purchase the system they so desperately desire will finally buy a system, not to mention the many people who thought the DS ugly (there are alot).

Give us one great title at this DS's launch (maybe Hunter's?) and it will break out like a plague.

It's actually kinda sad.

Oh no doubt.

A hub-world similar to SMW would be fantastic. It could even have a metriod feel to it where you need to defeat certian aspects of the game to reach other areas.

For instance, Mario would first have to defeat a castle in order to gain a boat. This boat allows Mario to sail to an island and so on and so forth.

What I would really like in this game though is a mixture between 2D and 3D gaming. 2D Mario with 3D moves would be incredible, and also a nice break from the norm.

Again, Ian, you spout EA hatred. I hope they pledge full support and give me FIFA as well as a well-done Fight-Night.

I much as the Xbox 360 seems cool or feels next gen, I can't bring myself to buy the damn thing. The DS however is the closest a product can come with out me forking over the cash. I just want a different color...A DIFFERENT COLOR!

I thought those commercials were halarious.

The rats look so damn stupid, so stupid in fact, that I couldn't stop myself from laughing. There voices were funny as well. The only non-funny part was the actual dialogue.

I give it a C overall: it is one of the few commercials period that actually made me laugh, but I honestly don't understand what they are talking about.

Considering that I think EA screws up practically EVERY game they ever make I assure you they could make it suck.  They can make anything suck.  Their whole mission statement is based on making dumb-downed generic entertainment which by its very nature sucks.  The very design of the Rev in theory is to stamp out the sort of generic forget-it-exists-six-months-later dribble EA has built an empire out of.

And like IceCold mentioned EA would design Fight Night for the PS3 and then port it and thus not make good use of the motion control.

Well maybe, but I think you have less faith in them then I do, that's all....

Honestly, I don't know who wouldn't pick up Fight Night REV if they made it even remotely good. Simply having control of a character's arms would be fun; not to mention beating the living sh!t out of your opponent.

EA could very well, by themselves, bring gamers flocking from other systems. I know for a fact that most casual gamers in the U.S. have either a PS2 or Xbox simply for sports. I'm not sure how you can make Madden any more intuitive, but I have some ideas. Even so, Tennis, Golf, Baseball, Racing, and Boxing could become potential hits that are only realized on the REV. EA can make alot of money here, even if a very small margain of the population buys a REV. I mean look at the Dreamcast.....how many people bought Round something or other with Afro Thunder?

If they [ut the time and effort into it, they will reap benefits. Thus, that is what I place my faith on....

Actually, come to think of it, I wish Sega would throw in some sports games. I remember Virtua Tennis becoming my favortie sports game for a good while.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Revolution launches in November
« on: January 18, 2006, 08:50:10 AM »
Nope, it wasn't that. It was because MoSys officially declared that Nintendo told them to expect a Summer 06 release. It was by far the most reputable source for any release date thus far, so we all kept it in mind.

Now, I don't know what to think.....

Could Nintendo be prepping us up for a big surprise? Or am I just talking out of my ass?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Capcom working on Revolution
« on: January 18, 2006, 08:40:25 AM »
So we get a new-IP and potentially Resident Evil?!

That's a win-win situation.

Honestly, the way RE is evolving, it could become one of the best games on the REV if implemented right. Hell, they could even leave the graphics how they were and spruce up the gameplay. However, if they did both, there's nothing stopping RE from getting a GOTY award (except Zelda...of course).

Imagine this....

1) Slicing off the head of a Zombie with your chainsaw
2) Quickly aiming your pistol with precision, capping every single zombie in a horde of 50!
3) Walking through a decripit house with nothing but a knife and a lantern. Pressing a button toggle's the control of the items. The light from the latern stuns the enemies and keeps them at bay. But beware, once an enemy smashes your lantern, it's gone. You'll have to rely on the moon-light that shines through the holes in the roof (which could be  visually stunning).
4) Actively running and shooting at the same time. This could make for some very intense situations.
5) Being able to shoot or stab over your shoulder should a zombie be attack you from behind.
6) and so on...

Nintendo Gaming / 2 DS Mockups....
« on: January 17, 2006, 07:07:53 AM »
Here is the first one...

There both...ok....but they do show you how the DS can be scaled down.

I like that first one best because it's creative. However, if they found a way to detach or switch the D-pad and button flaps, then it would be infinitely better. No more comprising the button size and space due to left-handers. Now they can simply switch it....

The need some new colors. Everyone I talk to says the DS is pretty neat, but pretty ugly. They'd buy it if A) they release new colors or B) if the DS: SP comes out and it's smaller and sleeker.
