TalkBack / RE:Nintendo Seeks to Improve Wi-Fi
« on: April 27, 2006, 06:16:53 AM »
"Kotaku also learned than another question asked was about whether or not gamers would prefer a single friend code to be used for every Wi-Fi game."

A typo -- should be "also learned that another question".  Just thought I would point that out.

Yeah...how did this go from Nintendo being like Apple and mySpace to all this emo stuff?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:There are TWO kinds of videogamers in this world:
« on: March 20, 2006, 05:21:13 AM »
Yeah...I read about 10 of the the poster's first words and my *FANBOY ALERT!* popped up, so I ran away screaming.  It is true that the Revolution controller will be very innovative and provide a totally new way to play games, but don't be so hard on the traditional pads.  Microsoft and Sony have decided to perfect their gamepads and focus on making the hardware very powerful and very online-oriented.  Nintendo, in a way, is doing the opposite.  They have decided to make the console as powerful and internet-capable as they see fit, and to focus their efforts of making a revolutionary method of control.  Nintendo implemented analog control in video games, and they implemented a touch screen on the DS.  Both systems (N64 and DS) were very revolutionary for their markets (console and handheld).  I think that if people don't file this away as a "remote control", then it will do very well.  It may not sell tons of consoles, but those who have the Revolution will snicker at the people that are whining about spending thousands of dollars on systems, controllers, cables, HDTVs, etc.  And we (the "revoltionaries") will be in our little niche with a (quite possibly) $200 console with plenty of money to spend.  Nintendo knows that people are spending ridiculous amounts of money just to have the PS3 or XBOX 360 well because...you know...its the PEE ESSS THREEEE.  (The fact that NO games were shown at the latest PS3 blowout shows you where their priorities lie...)  Nintendo doesn't rely on its rep to sell systems--they rely on AAA games, quiet + affordable consoles, and the hope that people will take the fanboy wool off of their eyes and see that Nintendo is the only console company worried about moving the video game industry forward.  Their third party support seems to be better than ever, which has always been Nintendo's "achille's heel".

*End of rant that will result in 380292 posts, from normal people and fanboys alike.*

PS:  I have an XBOX 360 and I love it--its really strong and there are some great games on the way (I look by the fact that it sounds like an airplane taking off).  But the thing I really want is a revolution, not an evolution.  Thank you if you read this all--I realize that it is long and boring for fanboys.  I'm not being arrogant, I'm being honest.

I think/hope the next Game Boy or DS will be able to play Gamecube games and have the power of a Gamecube, if it better.  That would be good for Nintendo's image, for all those people think console power is all that matters.  The PSP is a perfect example of how this isn't true.  If it was the DS, it would probably integrate a touch screen, if not something more revolutionary.  Game Boy would probably be only buttons and triggers, but maybe analog sticks?  Seems kinda required if you are gonna play Gamecube games on it.  I can't imagine controls being functional with a D-pad.

General Gaming / RE:names of the songs from "Lemmings"
« on: March 07, 2006, 05:06:32 AM »
Yeah.  I was just thinking the other day that a Lemmings DS game would be awesome.  Commanding them using the stylus by drawing bridges, breaking down walls, etc. sounds so cool.  I think they are making a PSP Lemmings game, so why no DS love?

TalkBack / RE:E3 Runs Out of Floor Space
« on: March 07, 2006, 04:56:38 AM »
Good thing Nintendo bought all their space ahead of time--that would be suicide for Nintendo if they weren't at E3.  I can imagine hired game developer assassins to run into the basketball games and take out Shaq's kneecaps.  Haha!  The E3 space shall be mine, he yells as security guards taser him repeatedly in front of thousands of laughing people.

That's a good point.  Either that, or the browser can't support it.

« on: February 15, 2006, 05:11:48 AM »
Yeah so...this is good news.  The DS has had some really good news the past few days.  Winning Eleven will have wifi, Hunters will have voice chat, DS Lite, DS is fasting selling console ever--all good news.  I knew the DS would be a huge hit.  The PSP sold less than 4 million units last year.  Lolzors.

« on: February 09, 2006, 03:09:01 PM »
All around good news.  Kind of strange that the power adapter is different.  Those pics are pretty ugly though--the unit looks a little diry and light yellow in some spots.  I expect they will release some glossy, shiny pics of it pretty soon.  I may pre-order one of these from Lik-Sang.  A japanese system will still play my US games just fine, right?

J Allard said that he prefers the DS to the PSP so I wouldn't be surprised if he maybe makes a studio for developing DS games or coaxes Microsoft into it.  Rare is already said its well underway with DS projects and it is owned by Microsoft, and there were rumbling a few months ago that there was a Halo handheld game being made.....hmmmmm

How about they make a game where it returns to its old school roots but maintains its mainstream appeal?  Oh wait!  They are already making that!

Yeah.  Like a kid coughing alot in a school class, I'm gonna stay away from Animal Crossing a while until it gets more reviews.  I want to get it, but I'm not sure if I will like it as much.  It will seriously be a damper on my masculinity though.  Some kid walks by: "Whacha playin there?" Me: "Animal Crossing.  I'm a guy in a village that does errands for animals and writes letters and digs up stuff and draws oh so fancy patterns".  Kid: "uhhh..cool" ::runs away very fast, fearing is anal region was in danger::

Maybe stapling your lips together, lathering them with hot metal, and sticking your lips in there?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Wifi turns my DS into a PSP!
« on: December 14, 2005, 05:35:10 AM »
Yeah.  The PSP runs out of batterys in 2 hours if you watch a movie, and in wifi internet its only a few hours more.  What do you expect, man?  This thing with the power on an N 60 - freakin - 4 is racing people accross the world via wireless internet!  Of course it's gonna take more battery life!  But if you honestly play your DS so much that you have to charge it daily, consider giving your social life a good CPR session.

What's next?  A game that teaches voodoo?  Maybe Tarot Card reading?  How to tell if your girlfriend is cheating on you daily, nightly, and every so rightly?

Nintendo Gaming / Animal Crossing worth another go?
« on: December 14, 2005, 05:30:17 AM »
I played the GCN animal crossing alot.  Craig of IGN said that it might not be worth it if you've "already experienced" it on the DS.  I'm tight on money since I'm getting the 360 (let the hateful PMs begin), and I can't decide on whether to get Mario and Luigi 2 or Animal Crossing.  If you are a fanboy who will say "OMG Animal Crossing is the best EVOR!" then don't even post.  I want unbiast people talking here.
