Nintendo Gaming / Pokemon's Replay Value
« on: February 20, 2003, 07:26:10 PM »
i had both pokemon red and blue, and now im the proud owner of silver, which ill admit is a bit daunting to play, sooo much stuff to get, specially when you dont have anyone to trade with =\ but i do love the game, it seems to offer more in the way of challenges which is nice, hey i still haven't managed to train my guys up enough to beat ash/Red ^_^

also, side note on pokemon, with a gameboy adapter for gamecube, and a bband adapter for it, theoretically wouldn't it be possible to trade with another gamecube linked to it?

General Chat / Game Music MP3 sites?
« on: February 20, 2003, 02:46:46 PM »
yeah the OC remix site is great cant wait to start DLing from them in force once i get cable

yes, get kazaa lite from www.kazaalite.nl its minus the adds/spyware etc, much better in my opinion ^_^ but you cant get "everything" you want off it specially if you dont have main stream tastes in music, but it is pretty damn good

its hardly illegal to DL video game music, especially when you own the game like Termin8anakin does

also check out www.ebay.com.au for video game music, im the owner of a chrono trigger sound track and my ocarina of time one is being sent as i type

Nintendo Gaming / favorite Zelda game quotes, anyone?
« on: February 20, 2003, 01:34:58 PM »
its hardly a poll
compareing funny quotes isn't exactly what i would call a poll.

i know it isn't zelda, but i think the funniest video game quote ever is from chronotrigger, where Sir Cirus is talking to pre frog Glenn about joining the army

Glenn: If i had to hurt someone i think i would really lose it
Cyrus: Glen.... your a marshmellow

hehehe

Nintendo Gaming / Original Zelda commercial
« on: February 20, 2003, 05:25:58 AM »
they should remake this add for WW, obviously in assosiation with other adds, would be funny

or they could lead in with the start of this add and then have link walk in (yes i realise there is a new link for every age or what ever) and shake his head in an embarrassed way and then have a narrator regail the veiwers with information about the wind waker...

hey it would make me buy the game ^_^ (not that im not going to allready) and it could apeal to jaded 20+ year olds that haven't really played a nintendo system since the nes era

on the subject of europe and release dates
australia is subject to the same/similar release dates to europe, being the same television format (PAL) and i was thinking very seriously about getting metroid/zelda/pso all from the US and getting the freeloader, but by the end of it im a poor 18 year old and it would end up (with postage and the cost of the free loader) to be worth almost 4 games.

i now currently own 2 $10 dollar dockets from EB(zelda and metroid pre order), with a 3rd on its way perhaps (pso), all/most of my friends feel the same as i do regarding this fact, so in responce to infernal monkey, some pre order some dont, so there will be a great number of metroid/zelda units moved through EB/BigW etc check outs in my opinion

The next issue after that, N64 Gamer wrote a small clear-up news article about HSVAR so as it wouldn't confuse people. Some thought it was a sequel after all.
Funny how it was exactly the same game.

And they put an aussie guy's voice in it?

ooooooh yeah, and it was horrible, you would start the game and it woudl go "HSV Adventure racing, G'day" in the wankiest faux aussie voice ever, so bad it wasn't even funny

i remember that issue of n64 gamer actually

Nintendo Gaming / Nintendo-No follow up ads
« on: February 18, 2003, 11:37:27 PM »
well, i haven't seen a gamecube add at all in quite a long time, several months infact, if you dont get many ads in america, you get almost none in australia
not that i have seen anyway, they did have some good ones for ssbm, rouge leader and a few other launch titles, and perhaps i saw one for mario sunshine... i cant quite recall

but as for Blinx/Sly Cooper omg talk about saturation =\ love or hate the game, seeing thoes adds almost every add break has got to ware on you

shockingalberto: nice call on the nintendo = kiddy theory

twice a year? i dare say i played OoT quite a few times more than that, so did pretty much everyone i knew that owned the game

Here in Australia, we have Beetle Adventure Racing 1.1
This version of BAR is actually called HSV Adventure Racing, where instead of Beetles, there were Holden HSVs. Strange.

All the tracks and music and stuff were the same, only the cars were different.

only the cars? what about the horrible faux australian voice that sounded like paul hogans inbread twin brother?
that was horrible
was BAR available in australia? ive only ever seen HSVAR, which i didn't like too much because of the holdens in it , did seem like a class game however

especially if you ahve 2 tvs and cant solve the dilema of wanting to watch a dvd AND get rid of your kids

in my opinion (how ever conveluted and odd it may be) casual gamers are "ruining" console gameing =\ sure they bring in more money, but they seem to bring lower quality with them =\, i haven't been a gamer perhaps as long as some others (im only the tender age of 18) but as near as i can tell the xbox/ps2 (im not flaiming here) kinda brought in the "cool croud" and because there alot more "cool people" than your average nerd/gamer/etc kinda tips the ballance of over all console purchasers in the casual gamers direction, and games are angled towards them

thats atleast how i see it, feel free to criticize etc

reason to buy a gamecube?
1) controller (mentioned before)
2) portableness
3) nintendo's games

well the poor effort of Nintendo of Australia doesn't help, but my gamecube is gathering dust for a different reason, tv blew up =\ a couple of days after i got fifa2003, so of yet i haven't really played the game (playing it on "my" flickering postagestamped size TV just isn't fun)
but my pre order on metroid and zelda should provide me with sufficiant entertainment
provided the tv gets fixed/a new one bought

Nintendo Gaming / Pokemon MMORPG
« on: February 16, 2003, 08:10:55 PM »
this wouldn't be A mmorpg, it would be mmopokemon, which wouldn't have to be like everquest etc. it doesn't need loot, it has something better, pokemon, the time it would take to catch all 350 pokemon would keep me ocupied for several months at least, especially when some can only be caught in day/night etc

also, for the Unique pokemon, my theory is they could have say 15-20 servers, or perhaps regional ones, so that there would be 1 mew two etc per server. ofcourse that would mean you could only play on that server unless you wanted to start anew on another server.

another idea i had was to solve the question of the starting pokemon (squirtle bulbasaur and charmander on r/b and totodile cindaquil and chikorita on g/s/c) would be a random choice between one of the lower end pokemon (from say pidgey to krabby etc) that your "parents" give to you to start you on your way to being a pokemon master!
