I've downloaded this voting channel threw the Wii Ware in the Shop Channel.

My system update didn't take that long at all, the channel requires an update for some "region" reason.  You have to tell it what region you live in in the Wii System settings...and by region it means which state you live in

From what it says, it just ask you questions and let your opinion be heard around the world....you can select a Mii to represent yourself

Actually, you could say this is the first online game on the Wii

What the hell does the writing mean is what I wana know.....also

Not really. Rockstar are the KINGS of controversy. I don't see Nintendo distancing themselves from a possible backlash as a bad thing. Besides, I doubt it even matters. Nintendo's already been sued over the more recent GTA titles, none of which have even seen the light of day on a Nintendo platform.

Actually, I believe there was a GTA game on the GameBoy color, and/or the GameBoy Advance

of course I am.....Besides, who would buy a fishing game

Now, people would buy an adult Wii game, but the chances of it being worth anything is very slim.  The adult themed games that came out on xbox were very hyped and didn't do very well.  Lets just face it, porn and video games just don't go well together.  It would have to have a humor tone for it to do fair, other than that...no

Nintendo Gaming / Writing on Wii controllers?
« on: February 13, 2007, 07:40:34 AM »
When I picked up my copy of Wii Play, it was the first time I have gotten another Wii controller other than the one that came with my Wii when I bought it on release day.  But when I picked up my new controller that came with a game....hahaha.....I noticed on the controller packed in with Wii Play had some writing on the side of the controller.  To the best of my description it says  "C E 0125"  along with a FCC ID# and an icon that says not to dispose of in a trash can....I guess.

So I want to know is this for just Wii Play Wiimotes or did Nintendo at sometime start writing this on all controllers at some point after I got mine?

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Why Wii play is worth it...
« on: February 13, 2007, 06:41:15 AM »
Has anyone been able to find wii play?

I called Best Buy like an hour before I got there and they said they had 8 copies, when I got there, I got the last one.  Do you think Wii Play will hit a top ten list from everyone buying it, or is it just a really hard game to find cause that there arn't many copies of them released?

By the way, Why the hell do I have to play the first game and score a certain amount before I can go on and play the second game....and so on, and so on, before i can play all 9 games?  That is Bullcrap, when are game developers going to stop doing this crap!!!!!!!  I Just bought the game, I'M pretty sure that entitles me to go home, pop it in, and play first what the hell ever dam game I wana play first, even if it's the 9th game.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Nintendo's Online Strategy
« on: February 12, 2007, 11:15:38 AM »
OK, here's the thing....If people want to protect their children from online preditors....fine. Don't let them play games online.  If their kids are too gulible to online preditors, fine, don't let them play games online.

I have no problem what so ever with parents policeing their kids, I DO have a problem with Nintendo policeing me, why can't society wake up and parents take responsibility for parenting, IT'S RIGHT THERE IN THEIR TITLE....PARENTING!!!!

If Parents became involved more in their kids lives and payed more attention to them, I think these cases would drastically decline.

And if I have a game thats online and can only be played with people you know on your friends list, and you have nobody on your friends list...........wait, THAT SUCKS!!!!!

Ohh, and I guess the point I was trying to say at the top was that online preditors don't use "Just" an online gaming console to get to their victims, the story at the top says they exchanged information over the computer via chatting and e-mail.  Sure the xbox live was the gateway, but I think the computer was the enabler that allowed it to go as far as it did.

For me the whole "friend code" thing isn't too much of a big deal to me.

Cause as it stands all of the friends on my friends list on xbox live are all people I don't know that i've excepted friend request from.  And when it comes to playing games online I never hook up with them and play games with them.

What is a big deal is with a game like Animal Crossing on DS.  It has Nintendo Wi-Fi functionality but you can only visit towns of people you know the friend code of, if you don't know anybody's friend code.  Then it's as if that game has no online gameplay.

So what matters most to me in online play is matchmaking and the ability to play with people I don't know.

Ok...this is what i wana know.

If the whole idea of friend codes is to keep preditors away from kids.  Then I want to know is, when did preditors start stalking kids on online console gaming.  I've never heard of a case where a kid was suduced while playing halo2 on xbox live.  I mean really, lets face it.  When your online playing you can't really talk private stuff that you don't want your parents to hear.  From the preditors point of view it's not the easiest way to meet and suduce kids cause it's so easy to get caught....just one call to microsoft, they have the credit card #, address, and a lot more information that is easier to hide when your chatting online.

OK, so again I ask, is there really a risk of exposing kids to preditors on a gaming console online?  Maybe you'll run into some jerks, and a system to avoid or turn them off should always be in play, but in my opinion.  I really don't think this is a serious worry.

I think the "Shell" Guitar would be the best way to go

no batteries, and wireless....perfect

plus, maybe the charaters on screen would raise it's guitar when you do and stuff

Fine....I will go as far to say to it may have been a little much to call him stupid.  Maybe saying his request was way too unlikely and there isn't a snowballs chance in hell it will happen.

Ok, so maybe the middleground we can agree on is the idea that this "patch" idea is never going to happen.  So Maybe, just maybe.....
can we agree the "Idea" is stupid, and not the person?

I think as it stands now about 1 in 4 Wii consoles sold go online.  That is a lot of people who want online play.

Voice over IP on Wii needs to happen when we get online play too.  For a lot of games, communication with teammates is vital.

Friend codes are fine cause they allow people to use the same name.  As long as exchanging them with new people is allowed and easy, friend codes shouldn't be too much of a hassle

The only bad move Nintendo has done, and had time to do, is they could have made Nintendo Wi-Fi "on chip" like xbox live on 360.  Therefor all games could basically be online even if it wasn't an online game.  While playing any game, you could check if your friends are online or what they are playing.  Unknown if a Wii system update cold correct this.

Ohh ya, and when it does go online, it needs to be called Nintendo Wi-Fi service, not WiiConnect24

It definately was uncalled for, personally I don't see why you couldn't have an "expansion" Pack esque patch that adds online either. But hey there are more programming inclined people than me here, maybe they can answer that, is it possible to add online to an already released game in a larger patch?

Fine......tell me one console game that has come out without online play, and then a patch was later released for it to allow online anything.  Sequals or different games entirely do not count, or something like xbox live arcade games.  Tell me one and I will apologize.

Are you stupid or something.....

You can't make a game that has already come out give it a "patch" and make it an online game.

First of all, if it isn't ment to go online in the first place....how can you go online and download a "patch" to allow online play

Second, if you are talking about a downloaded patch, there is not enough room on the Flash memory to hold all the additional data that is needed

Or....People know they can't bitch and blame their carelessness on the straps now that new ones are out....I'm still sure there are people still playing without straps, loosing their grip, and breaking ****.

I still think this was the case before and people blamed it on weak straps when that was clearly a questionable result.

I hope this prolongs the life of GameCube, by having stores keep GameCube controllers in stock and keep old GameCube games being played like classics they are.
