Going off what NeoThunder said about this being the first true online Wii game, maybe this is meant as a stress test?  Remember the Animal Crossing Clock for PCs back before Nintendo Wifi Launched?  Just a thought.

This really is awesome news.  I've wanted to get a PS2 for sometime to play Guitar Hero but I just don't have the money to invest into such a thing.  But if really does come out for Wii, I'll be picking this up on day one.

I would say the DS is the best version of Kart, since it did pull elements from all them and was masterfully tweaked.  But, there is no denying  the excellent fun that comes from MK64.  I still own this game for the N64, but that's at home.  Playing the VC version brought back so many memories of old friends but I'm now experiencing them with all new ones at college.  I would definitely say it was worth the $10.

What are the other 4 tracks in Mario Kart 64?  I'm not trying to be the jerk and nit-pick the article, but since it's been 10 years since I played through the game like a madman, perhaps I'm mistaken that there are only 16.

I've noticed that cube games with scratches have a tougher time playing on wii than on the cube.  I have a really scratched up copy of burnout 2 that has trouble starting on wii, but no trouble on the cube.  The guess would be because of the slot drive versus just putting it directly over the laser.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Wii Strap Replacements are coming

Straps came in a padded envelope in the mail along with a nice flier warning me, again, how to properly use the Wii Remote.

I got the Zelda disc, pink stylus, and Metroid Prime 2 preview disc.  Then they just seemed to stop giving stuff out.  What was the point of ever registering anything if they're just going to abandon the program?

They definitely kept their promise and they have been delivering more units.  Backwoods towns aren't getting them like the cities, but we are.  You just need to be lucky enough to be there when they come int.  It's not a failure, it's just the demand has vastly outstripped supply.  Also, very few stores actually withheld stock for Black Friday.  Most got more during the week, ie from that 200k shipment, and held them for Friday so Nintendo wouldn't miss Black Friday.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Next Wii shipment??
« on: November 24, 2006, 05:18:15 PM »
Because of EB noise, I waited from 10:30pm thursday till 6am friday in a mall parking lot.  My friends and I got 2 of the 3 Wiis.  Unfortunately, my neice and nephew took over my machine all day and I haven't really experienced it yet.

I'd just like to note that my area as well as where I go to college, have gotten no systems in since launch and even then received very few.  I really am at a loss on what to do to find a Wii other than waiting and constantly calling them.  Till then, I'll enjoy reading the back of my 2 game boxes and swinging my lone Wiimote around.  Sigh.

and January 28th is my birthday, the Wii will be there to celebrate with all of us.

I personally think they're offsetting the release of channels so they can continuously keep the Wii in the minds of non-gamers well past the holiday season.  It's amazing how much hype there is now, and yet they're going to keep it going WITH consoles available to sell to people when it peeks they're interest.

Wave Race was just technically in the 'launch window'
Fortunately Nintendo isn't over using that term like Microsoft, 6 months, give me a break.
Oh well, I just hope my walmart trip late at night on the 18th will be successful.

BWii is what has me excited.  I loved playing the first one until my Cube died on me.  After much debate, I'm just taking it apart to fix it instead of investing money in repairs.  The Wii is too close for that.

And 'hardcoring it' was what really made battalion wars so awesome for me. thought I won't mind making new units.

If this is by Free Radical, I would be very happy with it.  They have not let me down yet.

I agree with UncleBob, too many great games coming out and I as well can't stop playing Wild World long enough to play other games.  But still, I EAGERLY await Tetris with it's online goodness.

This is the perfection of the series, I haven't put it down since I got it.  I pronounced my Nintendogs as dead when I got this because there are no other games I want to play on my DS anymore.  Too bad my audio has died on me, but Nintendo is sending me a replacement system.  Amazing how much the audio helps you in this game.
