Nintendo Gaming / Namco mailing Tales fans questionaire
« on: February 14, 2007, 05:26:03 AM »
I just got a questionaire from Namco specificly for Tales series.  Looks like the company is asking for where they should release the game onto.  That seemed like the most important question anyways.  Most of the other questions were about what camera position, character style, battle system, and character artists did u like better.

Anyways check ur mailbox and cast ur votes.

Nintendo Gaming / Yggdra Union?
« on: February 10, 2007, 11:27:41 PM »
I was interested in this game but passed on buying it for various reasons.  I still don't 100% understand the game, does anyone have it or have played it know what it is like?  I watched a video on gametrailers and it reminds me of Fire Emblem which is good seeing as how I am a sucker for anything that falls under Turn Based RPG.

(Warning - Health and Safety:  Before playing, read the Gamer Law precautions booklet for important information about your health and safety.  Do not take laws into you own hands, please contact someone who cares.)

Gamer Law

I.  Continue Crooks - NO stealing continues unless given the okay, its not are fault u suck.  (WuTangTurtle)

II. TV J Walkers - Sufficient warning is always required before walking in between a gamer and the TV. NO EXCEPTIONS, that burning building can wait five seconds.  (Zach)

III.  Game Posers – Cheating to beat a game and then bragging that you beat it all by yourself is illegal and punished by the removal of one (1) finger, other than the thumb.  (Mr. Jack)

IV.  The O.C. – Online Cheaters (Counter-Strike) are punishable by death.  (Mr. Jack)

V.  Mario Bros. before Ho’s – Never let a girl come between you and video games; bitches come and go, but Mario is for life.  (vudu/matt oz)

VI.  Spoiler Alert! – Never assume a fellow gamer has reached the same point in the game you’re playing, EVER.  If you talk about a game avoid spoilers at all cost, especially for Zelda dammit).  (EasyCure)

VII.  Buzz Kill – Don’t pause a game without warning.  I don’t care if you don’t know the moves in a fighting game, DEAL.  It ruins the GOOD gamers flow when you have to pause and look at a skill/move list.  (EasyCure)
Clause - You must confirm that all players are ready to resume playing.  (18 Days)

VIII.  Controller Etiquette – Wash your hands between snack breaks if you’re using someone else’s controllers.  (EasyCure)

IX.  File Imposing – Never play someone else’s file and save your progress.  (EasyCure)

X.  Walkthrough Wussies – Don’t use a Walkthrough, power level in a RPG, or play on anything but hard mode and call a game easy—it makes people want to smack you.  (vudu)

XI.  Co-op not Counter-op – Example:  When playing Contra with two players co-ordinate your jumps during vertical platforming segments.  Continue Crooks get a waiver if they have been Counter-opted.  (Ian Sane)

XII.  Follow Through – If a friend talks you into buying a co-op game, they have to play it with you until it is beaten or you are sick of it.  Example: FF: Crystal Chronicles.  (ShyGuy)

XIII.  New Challenger - No whining that you don't want a challenger in Soul Calibur in the arcade when you're doing TEH CONQUEST mode! Go home and play Final Fantasy instead. :\  (S-U-P-E-R)

XIV.  No Means No! - When told u are not allowed to play without the Wii Strap on, u better obey or you will learn the hard way.  (WuTangTurtle)

XV.  Gamer Prejudice -  Don't bitch about a game you have never played, or seen outside of screenshots.  (nitsu niflheim)

XVI.  No Babysitting - (movies & books too)  If you ask to borrow it I expect you to use/watch/read/play it, If I wanted it to sit somewhere and collect dust, it could've stayed on/in the shelf/box that I had it on/in. Oh and don't let someone else borrow my stuff, I loaned it to you, not to them.  (BlackNMild2k1)

XVII.  You Break, You Buy - You shouldn't mishandle people's stuff, I mean how would you like it if your girlfriend mishandeld your B@lls?  You Break, You Buy. Period.  (BlackNMild2k1)
Clause - Payment should be original MSRP, or decided on in a peaceful manner.  (TVman)

XVIII.  Accept Inferiority -  No bitching or blaming glitches in a game when you lose to someone else. Accept your inferiority.  (Mr. Jack)

XIX.  Have Fun - Don't take things too seriously, MMORPG mass suicides are not cool.  Same thing applies to literally punching someone in Wii Boxing, although it may be fun...(WuTangTurtle)

XX.  Pack it in - When telling a friend you are bringing a console/handheld be sure to bring everything you need such as a AV cable or power supply.  Remember its not as fun imagining playing a video game....(WuTangTurtle)

XXI.  The Giver - Do not let anyone borrow a game unless, A) They are a friend, B) You get something to borrow of equal value, or C) They are in Nut Kicking distance on a daily or weekly basis.  If none apply you just gave somebody a free game, don't b!tch you were warned.  (Vudu)

Nintendo Gaming / Wii Manufacturing Costs vs PS3
« on: December 14, 2006, 07:51:25 AM »
http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/wii/wii-autopsy-discovers-manufacturing-cost-221736.php

Quote

Graphics chip: $29.60
CPU: $13.00
DRAM: $7.80
Optical disk drive: $31.00
Power supply: $11.30
Manufacturing cost: $19.50
Cost total: $158.30
Wholesale price: $195.99

Interesting if true, however they don't mention the GC ports, 512mb flash memory, sd card reader, sensor bar, wireless NIC, and a bunch more stuff.  The picture on the link shows PS3 costs too, it totals out to $805.85 to make, meaning a $400 loss for every system sold. ouch

Apparently modders and people who don't get the right error codes have to pay $140 to have their update bricked systems fixed.

Nintendo handled a similar situation so much better, and i know first hand, my Wii got an update issue where it couldn't get online.  Nintendo Next Day shipped me a new system free of charge, same thing with my original DS only it was a dead pixel problem.

I remember microsoft pulling the same $hit on me when my 2 original xbox's broke down. Both were the DVD-Drives, I have a suspicion their drives $ucked major @ss.

Nintendo Gaming / Photo Channel Question
« on: November 30, 2006, 06:26:47 PM »
I haven't noticed anyone mention this so here's my question:

I recently got a SD card and a SD reader, I attempted to put some videos on it and watch em but the Wii gives me an "?" saying it isn't supported.

I made sure the video files i used where A) Quicktime, And B) 840x480 res or less.  So why did they not work?  Some weren't even recognized whatsoever, others just had a "?" mark.  Did i miss something?

My photos work out fine, and my music works in the photochannel and in ExciteTruck in case anyone was wondering.

Nintendo Gaming / Wii Offline : (
« on: November 19, 2006, 08:37:03 AM »
Am i the only one?  My Wii seems to keep getting a 110213 error code when it tries to update the WiiConnect24 thing.  I've heard people have already downloaded retro games and sadly I can't access it because of this.  I attempted Nintendo's website for the error code but the page doesn't seem to respond to my error code.

Anyone else have a similar experience or have any suggestions?

Nintendo Gaming / Elite Beat Agents Reviews!
« on: November 07, 2006, 11:34:02 AM »
So it looks like IGN gave it a 9.5, 1up a 9, Gamespot a 8.9, and then u have Game Informer 6.75.

Don't trust Game Informer they gave Paper Mario the same score too.  Makes me believe every game they give a 6.75 is a great game.

Nintendo Gaming / Time's Tech Guide 2006

http://www.time.com/time/2006/techguide/buyersguide/webshopping/videogames.html

I like how they failed to mention that Wii will have free online abilities (games and web browsing) for free and the Virtual Console, but yet they call the 360 an online gaming machine with a marketplace for retro games.

Oh and they for some reason say the PSP is better than the DS....

I'd say Sony dropped off some money hats to a certain somebody for the holidays.

Nintendo Gaming / WTF is this!?

http://gonintendo.com/?p=7413

Wired gives Nintendo Wii a freaking 8 out of 10.......

More importantly what is up with those three slot like holes on the side of the Wii.  It looks like it can be opened, could it be a secret compartment to hold my lipstick and blush!?  I sure hope so...

General Gaming / EA Quality Assurance at Work...

http://www.nbalive.org/letter.htm

Here is a little link about the oh so great quality of nba live 07, at the bottom of the link there are some youtube videos of some hilarious bugs that have surfaced in the final game.  Thank God the NBA didn't sellout to EA like the NFL did.

Now if only NBA 2k7 came out on a PC or on the Wii...chances of either are about 1 in million though.

Nintendo Gaming / Never to old to school ya
« on: September 18, 2006, 10:34:39 PM »
So is Nintendo's strategy of getting non gamers and lapsed gamers working?  Lets see....

In Europe i believe it is said that 40% of DS owners are women!  And if that isn't enough look at the ending area of this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mft72Xs93cM.  Look at them geezers game on, they get some props from me.

I don't personally know anyone who is a non gamer go crazy over the DS unless you count my 2 sisters but even they are atleast above that term.

So c'mon guys lets share some stories about people we know that aren't typically gamers go crazy over some game, whether it be DS or not.

Nintendo Gaming / Marketing the Wii for dummies....
« on: September 16, 2006, 06:54:14 PM »
Alright just curious here, do you think Nintendo's Marketing will fail or possibly intice non gamers?

I was just remembering how the commercials for Nintendogs were done, and thought how terrible it was yet it sold well.

And just to get more conversation going how would you market the Wii? (Be as serious or as funny as you want to be)

If only Metroid Prime 3 was a launch title I would have shown a girl picking up a wii-mote flippin on the game and watch as the wii-mote changes into Samus's canon and then have her totally transformed into Samus's armor.  Then throw on a cheesy line like "Now your Playing for Real" lol.

I'm having problems here, i went through the process like they said and i have not recieved an email back, is it me or does it just take forever until they email me?  Should i even care?

By the way i have not posted my friend code as of yet, due to this little problem.  Does this effect it or should i just post my friend code in the Friend Code thread?

Nintendo Gaming / IGN LIVE Developer Panel
« on: October 30, 2005, 04:36:57 PM »
I would provide a link to the video of the interview of the developer panel but it seems like it is now an insider only video.  I may have seen it on another website but i can't seem to find it now.

Anyways the panel has a good disscussion about the next gen, unfortunately the guy from Epic Games keeps on insulting, ingoring, and simply being a jerk when anything regarding Nintendo comes up.

Well just wanna see what people have to say about it.

Oh and for those who may not know IGN LIVE is a new event that is like E3 but for the people, however it does cost some greenage, not a fortune but still.

If anyone went, plz post what it was like.

Anyone else see this xbox360 video and feel unimpressed?  It looks good and everything I mean i wish i could make 3d models like that but with all the talk from Microsoft and Sony about Graphics I expected more.  IMO the graphics look like the could be done on xbox.  What do you guys think?  good or bad?

Nintendo Gaming / Donkey Konga 3 Review
« on: September 08, 2005, 12:39:19 PM »
I did not see a mention about this in PGC's Donkey Konga 3 Review so i decided to make this here.

For anyone that doesn't already know Donkey Konga series is one of the only japanese games that CANNOT save using a freeloader disc.  So unless you have your GCN modded you can't access the Famicom songs easily.

However I'd like to mention that it is still a great game without the famicom songs.  There are so many more songs, and a lot of which are pretty good.  For example you get 2 Naruto songs and i believe 2 Full Metal Alchamist songs.

Anywho thought someone could use the info.....

Nintendo Gaming / Trademarks?
« on: July 05, 2005, 10:42:42 AM »
i just noticed GameScience posted up new trademarks.  Nintendo listed: Dread, Digitylish, Screwbreaker, GBA Micro, and Nintendo WiFi Connection.  My question is what are the first three?  I also noticed Namco registed trademarks: Namco Bandai, Bandai Namco, BanNam, and NamBan.......Hilarious!

Nintendo Gaming / DS Release dates?
« on: January 03, 2005, 02:22:51 PM »
I can't really find any consistent release dates for DS games.  I just went to gamestop.com and they list a bunch of DS games coming out from January - February.  Are these dates at all believable?

Listed games are:

Zoo Keeper
Dynasty Warriors
Egg Monster Heroes
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed
Pac'NRoll
Sonic DS
Yu-Gi-Oh!
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
Wario Ware Touched!
RObots
Advance Wars DS

I know Wario Ware, Zoo Keeper are coming soon but i doubt the other dates?  Anyone else have an idea when these games come out?

Wow, anyone else pick this game up?

So far im not really that far in (4hrs worth) but what ive seen ive loved.

Except one thing leveling up is weird, u must pray at a church to realize your true strenghts in order to level up and class up.  With my luck i didn't figure this out and when i finally did my character jumped up 5 levels, and 1 class, LOL

Nintendo Gaming / DS Defect?
« on: November 22, 2004, 07:42:24 PM »
Anyone else notice a pixel being red at all times?  I think my DS touch screen is fried.  It's very very small but it is very visible when u look near it.

Yesterday a guy came back into my store to exchange his due to this problem, and i just noticed mine do the same just a couple of hours ago.  Let me know if u have had this problem too, and if anyone has any clues what i should do?

I may just exchange mine too.
