Yeah, then it was $200 or more for games on the platform when released.  I think almost any price they stick on their games will technically be a steal, since you won't be able to obtain the games legally for anything close to ten bucks now.

I dunno, aren't a lot of them available as compilations?
There are also a ton of Neo Geo games on GameTap, but none of the KoF or Metal Slug series. Probably the same pool of "more obscure" titles that they plan to release for VC, actually. Check out that list if you want a vague sense of what they might have in mind.

They're older, maybe they haven't always been Ouendan. Maybe they're former pirates.

Those new features and then some, no doubt. The "rival team" aspect should impact the game design in ways I can't really predict yet...

And my point is that "very likely" does not mean "confirmed," and shouldn't be reported as such. If it did, Sam & Max for Wii was "confirmed" when Telltale hired a Wii developer in the first place.

What is wrong with everyone in the world?

Shack:  Much ado has been made of your job solicitations for Wii and Xbox 360 programmers. What can you say about your plans there?

Dan Connors: Well, we're hoping to get on to both consoles, with Live Arcade and Virtual Console--I'm sorry, on all three consoles! But we're starting with Wii and Xbox, on both of their online services and retail as well. We want to open as much distribution as possible and reach as many people as possible, so when we go out and talk to a license holder we can say, "Hey, we can get your license in front of all these people. Come with us and we'll make sure it's a great product." The distribution channel drives a lot of that, especially if you're independent and you're an emerging media publisher. I think there's some room for us to grab a stake.

He says things like "hoping" and "talk to license holder," and everyone seems to read it as "We're making Sam & Max for Wii!"
Telltale has made other games, you know. I suspect they'll continue to do so in the future.
Might they port Sam & Max to Wii? It's possible. Even likely. They seem to want to. But, and correct me if I'm wrong, they certainly haven't confirmed it.

I prefer to think of them as consoles that rhyme with "Run DMC," but to each his own.

(on topic) Nice trick, I'll have to try it sometime.

I do think blowing into the microphone is overused, to say the least.

I think it's just to make him less human, because it's more "okay" to kill a monster than a person.

It's probably the final grey-cart N64 version. Green blood, no allusions to Muslims, but otherwise identical to the original, software-wise. Since the hardware is better, framerate and resolution probably look better, just like Mario and Mariokart 64 did.

What really disappointed me was that because of this lack of 3D camera the "eye" feature that was so nice in tWW was little if ever used in TP, since in the wii version you can't see Link's face easily, I hope for the next Zelda they implement the camera somehow.

That's partially a camera issue, but also an art style issue. It's much easier to see what Link is looking at when his eyes are the size of basketballs.

If you just tap Z, it automatically locks on to the nearest attacker. Not a bad system at all.
The only time I ever had a problem was when I was too close to a Peahat (a flying, targetable, non-attacker) which would I would lock onto when I just wanted to look forward without targeting. That situation could hypothetically occur in the GC version as well, although the c-stick would make it less of an issue, since you'd have an alternate way to look forward.

I suppose if they stop bundling it with the machine, that would be a logical method of distribution, but I don't know. It sells pretty well separately and at full price in Japan, from what I've heard.
Might be a possibility for upcoming games like "Wii Music" and "Wii Motor Sports," though.

I never had a rumble pack on the N64, so I'm gonna go ahead and assume that the Stone of Agony will do exactly what it did for me then: Absolutely nothing.

I've played a demo of a fan-made flash game that used the FLUDD in 2D. It works fairly well. Functions something like Yoshi's flutter jump. I wouldn't mind seeing it used in a real DS game.

I'm pretty sure that the reason it's not coming out here is because is not because it'd be impossible to license all the characters, but because it would be expensive. Remaking the game with new sprites and characters would also be expensive, so that's sort of lose-lose from their perspective.
What they ought to do is just make a deal with Viz Media (who publishes Shonen Jump magazine in the U.S., and has the rights to dozens of Anime/manga properties, including many of those featured in the Jump games). They could just take out all the characters Viz doesn't have the rights to, and replace them with a handful of characters that Viz does have the rights to, like Inu Yasha and Ranma or something.

Codejunkies.com sells the empty dock for $19.99, and if you shop smart you can get a gigabyte CF card for around $20 as well. I ordered the dock from them, I hope I don't regret it.

I lost my faith in the localization when Maya said "You're the man now, doll!" Pop culture references are fine when they're funny (like Moe's freaking-out rants), but that was gratuitous.

I think the Ouendan/EBA characters could work on the Wii, but I agree that the tapping couldn't translate to pointing. I think if they made a Wii version, it'd have to be about wide gestures, that almost feel like dancing (and let those who want to actually dance do so). Even if the pointing was perfectly precise, it'd lack the tangible "oomph" of tapping the screen.
