Nintendo Gaming / Wind Waker boring? (spoilers)

Because you have ADD.  I don't know why you're bored by the game, but I know you're in the minority. I just beat the game after a week of owning it and I have to say pretty much the only time I put down the game was to eat, sleep, and go to school.

Now why throw in a personal attack?

The game is very boring to people who dont like this style of game. I loved it at first but am now bored out of my mind with it.
My job involves mass amounts of reading, looking at charts, and analysing stock prices, very very boring work for the most part.
Whne I find the time to unwind and play a game, I like a game that is the opposite of my real life. This IMO is why I would rather play timesplitters2 than Zelda or Prime, both are just to slow moving for what I want.

I think Zelda is very well done for the most part. It just isnt for me.

. My GOD. The number of side quests and things to do is amazing. It rivals Animal Crossing and smashes the hell out of GTA

I hate sidequests, it is one of the main things I hate about the Zelda series.

I can't imagine who wouldn't like Wind Waker to be honest. There are people out there who claim that they don't like it, but MOST of them are PS2 or Xbox fans so biased they can't see past their own nose, or people who haven't played or finished it

I know a few people who arent fans of WW, I myself loved it at first but have grown bored with it, my wife feels the same way.
Just doesnt suit my tastes, I much prefer a good FPS.

To say everyone who doesnt like WW is because they are a biased x-box or PS2 fanboy is a very biased statement itself.
Games are all about taste. You like it, great for you, but it doesnt make you any more right than someone who doesnt like it.

Nintendo Gaming / Wind Waker boring?

I am sure the Aveng's reasons for not liking wind waker are similar to not liking prime. It is a text fest.
I loved WW at first, but I too have grown bored of it already, similar to what happened with Metroid, I just am sick of reading non stop.
Maybe it is my tastes that have changed, I dont know for sure, but I havent been blown away by a nintendo game in a while, Sigh.

And yet you offer no infomation, interesting, I bet you don't know much either.

I offer no information because I am sick of offering it to people like you who would rather spout off than do a bit of research. You are obviously very uninformed yet cant help but put your 2 cents into the fray. People like you are dangerous.

I heard it has a range far enough to hit Calif. It would be interesting to see what will happen after the Iraqi war anyway considering America is a blood thirsty war machine and can't leave other nations alone.

I just love uninformed people, who use idiotic phrases like "mar machine".
Do yourself and everyone else a favor, READ, READ, READ, LEARN, LEARN, LEARN, then make comments. You will appear a lot less foolish next time around.

There is alot of better democracies out there besides America. Like Canada

I am Canadian and it is obvious to me that your head is quite far up your ass.
We are no better than the USA in Canada, out countries are very similar, we both have our advantages and disadvantages.
We have an extremely Liberal government in Canada, one that so desperately wants to be seen as bi-partisan that is has become afraid to make even the simplist of decisions.
The war in IRAQ , and decision of our government in Canada is a clear example. Our government has stated that is will not support a war without UN sanctioning. The ironic part is we have troops that are part of an exchange program with the British, troops that are already fighting along side the Americans in Iraq. Our government refuses to tell Canadian public where these troops even are, saying only that they "may" be fighting, and that they "may" be in Iraq, all the while the British have said, "Yes, here they are."  Again, clearly dodging the truth in an attempt to maintain an unrealistic feeling of moral superiority.
I love my country and would fight to protect it, but I refuse to back the decisions it has made in regards to the war in Iraq. I for one feel we have stabbed the Americans in the back on this, that we have walked away from our closest ally and neighbour, just to avoid critisism on the global front. IMO it was a cowardly act.
God bless to the troops fighting over there, and to my friends in the US, please remember, some of us still stand with you.

You seem to be at it again, I see.

If there's a limitation on your perceptive abilities, then that is a perfectly valid question. You assume that the problem is with the game, but did you ever consider that it was a difference in your perceptions that makes the game less fun to you than to other people?

Perception and opinion are in this case pretty much one in the same. However, my abilities have nothing to do with my enjoyment of Metroid Prime. I found the game easy, and very, very tedius. You claimed, by this fact alone, that I had a short attention span. I still fail to see the connection. I just simple didnt like the game. I love Zelda and it requires much greater attention that Prime IMO.
So your point really seemes flawed to me. To base an opinion of a "person" based on what they think of one "game" is very dangerous and I would guess inaccurate about 99% of the time.

I sit in front of a PC for 10 hours a day, looking at Bond prices, drawing charts, reading financial reports, and reading more news releases that one could possibly imagine. The last thing I want to do when I playing a game is read a text heavy, scan fest like Prime. I know there is a fair bit of reading in Zelda, but it is spaced out better and not as much of a chore.
My personal favories are FPS because they are limited in text and heavy on action which a far cry from what my daily routine is like. Besides, where else can I imagine my co-workers running for the exits (only kidding).

Now that summer is fast approaching here, my video game playing will deminish to almost nothing, as I much prefer to sit by my pool and play golf 5 times a week.

So if you wish to judge me based on my game preferances, go right ahead. I just hope you dont make all of lifes decisions with as little information as you have here.

the music in the intro was very well done. It really reminded me of the show I saw in Vegas at the Excalibur.
On a side note, seeing Link move with the sword with this graphical style is simply breath taking.

I was wondering the same thing. I am only half way through (if that) of OoT , and I cant imagine having the new Zelda sit while I take another month to finish OoT.
Oh the dilema.

Do you not remeber when the September 11 attacks occured there was video of people cheering in the streets of Pakistan and other Arabian countries? I can't recall if there was video of Iraq's people doing the same thing, but being that Iraq and Pakistan are allies most likely their sentiments were the same.

This is so flawed it isnt even funny. Many of the people you see cheering have been raised with such a level of uninformed hatred that it is sickening. These people are in many cases uneducated, uniformed, and truly have no concept of what they are even cheering for.

They have been taught to believe that the Americans are evil, and that the American way of life is filled with sin and is also evil. I guess killing your wife because she showed her face to another man is just fine and dandy though, while your at, it why not brutally castrate your daughters as well.

Yes, our cultures are very differant, but that is no ecxuse at all to sit back and allow flagrent abuses on human life to occur.

Information, and education will truly be the only things that will really liberate the Iraqis, and the whole middle east for that matter. Only when they begin to realize we are not the evil people they think we are will thinks change, and here at home we must do the same thing, making sure our children know and respect them as well.

Removing Saddam is a step in the right direction, however it is just one piece in a very large and difficult puzzle.

To all the people who like to say "well the States and Russia have weapons of mass destruction".

Here is the problem with that. I admit it would be great if all the world were free of any form of weapons of war. The problem is not all nations would comply, many would have programs that are secretly building weapons.
Do you really think a leader like Saddam would get rid of all his Army and weapons if the US and Russia did?
Iraq's track record with Saddam in power speaks loud and clear.
Some needs to be the watchdog, the US has taken on this role. Will they always make the right decisions? I doubt it, but I definately trust their decisions over some of the alternitives.
This had to be done. I wish their was a better way, an easier way, a peaceful way. Sadly dictators dont have a habit of resigning, leaving only one option. The swift kick in the ass approach.

The problem with people like the Dixie Chicks is that they take advantage of their position to try an push their opinion down the throats of people who are not listening to them for that reason. The Dixie Chicks are a country band. Then sing country music. Dont use the stage to push your uneducated beliefs. In this case they were clearly comments based on iggnorance instead of fact. I am sick and tired of celebrities trying to push thier beliefs on the public, especially when in most cases they dont practice what they preach (ie - the SUV crap from a month or two ago) . Go back to your mansion, enjoy your fantasy lifestyle, smile and shut the F up.
Saddam was never going to leave Iraq, he was never going to fully disarm, he would never fully comply with the UN. He, along with his 2 sons would simply continue to rule Iraq with an iron fist, terrorizing their own people all the while building and experimenting with god only knows what kind of weapons.
This had to be done, it is just unfortunate that so many other countries chose this time to play politics and feed their own agendas. One could hope that the US will take names and when that givin country comes crying with its hand out for help, the US will simply say we have nothing to give. However they wont, they will simply continue to be the worlds bandaid in times of crisis and its bank in times of need.
Cheers to the Americans who get it, and a tear for those who dont realize just how good they have it.

I dont know him from a hole in the ground.
He chose to attack people based on their opinion of a stupid video game. IMO anyone who does this this is a tad immature. This is about the game, and about what people think of the game, not each other. To judge someone based on their opinion of something as stupid as a video game is idiotic. I judged him on his comments that were directed at other people, because he brought people and thier personal traits into this conversation, and they clearly do not belong here.
I like NHL hockey 2003, you may like Time splitters, and so and so may like frogger, this is all a matter of taste, and has no relation to anything else what so ever period.
These are games, simple stupid games that are meant to be played for fun and entertainment. To many people treat them like there are life and death issues that can be used to guage ones intelligence, personality or manhood. I find this completely and utterly insane.

To think that the US is doing this for oil is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard.
The eyes of the world will be watching the aftermath of this so closely that it wont even be funny. Do you really think they would just let the Americans start pumping Iraqie oil back home?
get real.

Not 1 doller of Iraqie oil will leave Iraq. The money generated from the oil will be used to rebuild a country, not one devestated by war, but one that has been devasted by its onw leader for nearly 25 years.

Iraq under Saddam has been a country that has repeatedly lied the UN, and for decades have dodged the penalties. Iraq undoubtedly has biological and chemical weapons, and if history is any indication they will no doubt use them sooner than later.

Has the US been a little gung ho, sure they have, but then again they had people fly their own passenger aircraft into buildings full of civilians, and therefore have a right to be a little more aggresive when dealing with percieved threats. Many people during the clinton admin didnt believe that Al Quida was a legitimate threat on American soil. It appears they were a little wrong on that one. Now the same people are saying that Iraq poses no real threat to Americans. I cant blame the bush admin for saying we wont take that chance again.

Sure it is great for France to prance around on its high horse, it has not felt the sting of Terrorism the way the US recently has.

To think that Bush is a bigger threat than Saddam is so far from the truth.
Get the facts, sing the oil for blood song without fully knowing the facts is both iggnorant and dangerous.

By the way I am a canadian who is embarresed by my countries lack of support in this matter.

God bless the troops in the middle east, come home safe.

Are you trying to make me laugh?

You seem to think to can judge a person by their preferance in video games?
When in fact all you are doing is showing flaws in your own fragile charachter.

I dont like Prime, it has nothing to do with attention span, imagination or visual skills.
I simply dont like it. It doesnt appeal to me. I dont play games to read for hours on end. I have a an extensive library if I choose to read.
Metroid just didnt do it for me, in any way, shape or form.

So if you wish to continue to use Metroid Prime as a way to read an individual, to determine their character, or as a tool for any other reason. I say all the power to you, because in the end it doesnt mean jack.
Its only a game, too bad you think it means so much more.

How can you base someones imagination or lack their of on a video game?

Imagination is used in the creation of the game not nessasarily when playing it. Yes, you can become immersed in the game, but this is due to the games elements drawing you in, not your imagination. Games are mainly visual, how does this leave any room for imagination?

For you to say that someone doesnt have an imagination because they dont like a certain game only shows flaws in your own judgement. I dont like prime because I find it brutally boring, plain and simple.

You seem intent on trying to prove how smart you are by using big words and belittleing people, I for one find your actions quite childish.

Its only a game.

I think the olny company who has a chance at turning a profit with online is sony due to their large user base.
With 3 console companies on the go, and only a small percentage of gamers from each one using on line features I just dont see their being enough money to go around.

think that what the person above said about simulation is dead on. They're sim games. I don't play flight sim games, or other types of sim games. I know how real life works -- I can get that on normal TV without spending any money. So why play a simulation of football when the real-life stuff is often much better, and more entertaining? If I'm going to play games, I want to do things I can't do in real life.

They are only sims to a certain extent. I play hockey 3 nights a week in the winter, play baseball twice a week in the summer and golf all other days in the summer. I am not fat, and I am not lazy.

The thing is, I cant out skate Pavel Bure in real life, I cant shoot as hard as Al McKinnis, I cant snag grounders as well as A-rod, and I cant hit the golf ball 190 yards with my 7 iron out of 3 inch rough like Tiger can. So even though sports games may be sims, they are in no way a reflection of the average persons abilities when they play the sports for real. The games allow me to be Tiger Woods or Mario Lemieux, to play at a level I cant in real life. When I play NHL 2003 I am ingulfed in the action, I am part of the game, I for that brief moment am playing in the NHL.

IMO it is no differant than playing golden eye. When I play it I am a spy, a secret agent, with a pile of cool toys. Now in real life I could probably attempt the same things, but I am guessing the results would be no where near as favorable.

Maybe there is a need to like sports, especially the sports that you will play in the games. However I cant be sure because I like sports, so I cant see from the other side of the story. I will say this though. I hate watching basketball, I hate playing it in real life, but I do like playing the video game version, the same goes for soccer. So I am not sure if I really buy the "I dont like sports angle".

I guess at the end of the day it is about choice and preferance. If you dont like sports games so be it, but to say the games suck because they dont appeal to you is just plain ignorant. I also find it irritating when people say that companies simply rehash the same game every year. When I see a quote like "Madden is the same game every year, only a moron would buy it every year", then the same person says they own Monkeyball 1 and 2. I find that severly hipocritical. The games are differant, EA spends all year on the new titles, the people who make the game live the games and are truly fans of the sport involved. To say no effort went in to it is a slap in the face IMO, and is in most cases unwarrented.

In the end sports games are reason I still play and follow the gaming industry, for Nintendo to lose all its sports games would be the end of me owning a nintendo system and I have owned every one of them. I would miss a lot of Nintendo's great work like Zelda and Mario, but I would rather miss them than the sports.

Just one gamers point of view.
